Budget Hotel
The Advantages and Disadvantages of 7 Days Inn
As a typical budget hotel, Seven Days Group Holdings Limited established in 2005 and now, more
than 1000 Seven Days Inn have scattered all around the China (Zhang, 2012). I registered to be a
member of 7 Days Inn two years age, and have already lodged in three branch stores in different
cities during my travels.
Budget hotels are considered as 1 star hotel because they provide lodging at cheaper price varies
from 30$–40$ per room per night. The main service is providing guest rooms with limited amenities
for general tourists and business travelers(Song, 2009). In the last few years, budget hotel has
demonstrated its huge market potential, especially within the key consumer groups, like ... Show

For its clients, they will have the convenience of reading about the service and updated information
on their own time. 7 Days Inn already had a website, but as a permanent member, I only use it for
my reservation. Most of the customers can not find some more interesting and eye–catching
information. Besides presenting its hotel rate and some basic hotel introductions, to well develop its
company website, the 7 Days Inn's webmasters should take measures to perfect its company
website, like encouraging all the staffs and customers to publish their ideas and experiences of
lodging in 7 Days Inn.
On the other hand, obsolete and deficient equipments in some guest rooms also make the customers
unsatisfied with 7 Days Inn. I once complained the small and obsolete TV set in my guest room,
because I even could not find CCTV–NEWS channel. Among all the problems about deficient and
obsolete equipments, the dullish and yellow lighting in some branch stores is most annoying.
Lighting, whose aim is to temporarily receive guests and revivify the staffs, has to be designed for
different purposes in different areas. However, in two branch stores that I lodged in, the lightings in
corridors were so dim during days and nights, while the lighting color and intensity in the guest
rooms was unchangeable. In a hotel, during the day, people are attracted by the interior

Buddhism In China Research Paper
China has approximately 56 ethnic religions, with each with its own particular society and religion,
however among every one of the religions in China, the biggest is Buddhism. Over hundreds of
years, Buddhism in China has formed into three phonetic structures: Chinese–dialect Buddhism,
Pali–dialect Buddhism, and Tibetan–dialect Buddhism, additionally called Lamaism. It is hard to
appraise what number of individuals take after Chinese–dialect Buddhism, as it is broadly dispersed
and does not have welcome customs, but rather the Chinese–dialect Buddhism has no less than
40,000 ministers and nuns and more than 5,000 sanctuaries and religious communities. Tibetan–
dialect Buddhism is discovered primarily among the 7 million individuals of the Tibetan, ... Show

Its presentation into China broke the social mastery of Confucianism and added to another social
example commanded by Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. The interpretation of Buddhist
sacred texts advanced the Chinese vocabulary and language structure and enhanced the scholarly
style and composing procedure. The Chinese excellent "Trip toward the West" is an illustration of
the impact of Buddhism on Chinese composing. Buddhist theory affected numerous renowned
writers, including Tao Yuanming, Wang Wei, and Bai Juyi, and in addition painters, draftsmen,
space experts, and specialists. Buddhist religious communities and pagodas are discovered all over
China. Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, Emei Mountain in Sichuan, and
Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui, are four well–known Buddhist sanctuaries exceedingly respected by
professionals. Among the popular religious communities are Baima Monastery in Luoyang,
Manchan and Foguang cloisters on Wutai Mountain, Biyun (Azure Clouds) Temple and Yonghe
Monastery in Beijing, Linggu Temple in Nanjing, Jokhang Monastery in Lhasa, and eight
sanctuaries in Chengde. The popular pagodas incorporate Zhuanta (Brick Pagoda) on Mount
Songshan, Muta (Wood Pagoda) in Yingxian County of Shanxi, Shita (Stone Pagoda) in Quanzhou,
and Dayan (Greater Wild Goose) Pagoda in Xi'an. The Dunhuang Grottoes in Gansu, Yungang

The Democratic Republic Of The Congo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of the largest African countries located in central
Africa. Congo is a country that has grown out of a history of Belgian colonisation. Congo also has a
long history of an unstable government with a lot of problems with internal corruption. Being a land
rich on natural resources with a poor government, Congo has been the perfect target for foreign
exploitation of the lands resources. There is a high demand for cobalt from first world countries and
the demand keeps rising every year. The current battery technology enables big technology
companies to sell small handheld technological devices. Congo is one of the worlds leading supplier
of cobalt. Almost half of the worlds cobalt was mined there. This cobalt can be found in any
rechargeable battery such as the battery of a laptop or a smartphone. A cobalt rich battery has
enabled us to have phones small enough to can fit in our pockets. These litihium–ion batteries can
contain up to 10 grams of refined cobalt. Refined cobalt is the most expensive element in these
batteries. Today, several Chinese companies are buying cheap cobalt from Congolese miners who
working under dangerous conditions. The Congolese people are poor and desperate enough to do the
hard and dangerous work. Families are forced involve their children in the mining work to be able to
survive. The work pays less than minimum wage. The foreign mining business in Congo has caused

Riordan Manufacturing: Production Plan Essay
Production Plan for Riordan Manufacturing Riordan Manufacturing strives to be the leader in using
polymer materials to provide solutions to customer's challenges. The main focus is to achieve and
maintain reasonable profitability to assure that the financial and human capital is available for
sustained growth. In order to obtain these goals Riordan Manufacturing will need to have a strong
production plan.
Strategic Capacity Planning Riordan Manufacturing has Chinese business partners with facilities in
China. These facilities are in close proximity to the Qiantang River. The river access leads to
Hangzhou Bay, which is sufficient to handle our shipping needs. Therefore, Riordan Manufacturing
made a decision to take the electric ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In accomplishing this, the JIT lean production process will minimize use of facility space, materials
and supplies, stocks, labor, capital and time. This, in turn, will reduce costs by increasing production
efficiency and overall output.
This lean production technique involves using a range of "practices designed to reduce waste and
improve productivity and quality" (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). The JIT principles use tools,
and techniques that allow Riordan Manufacturing "to produce and deliver products in small
quantities, with short lead times, to meet specific customer need" (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano,
2006).
Simply put, JIT delivers the electric fan products at the right time in the right amounts for each
customer. The power of JIT is that it allows Riordan to be sensitive to any shifts in customer
demand. The main benefit of JIT is that it can 'improve production efficiency and therefore
competitiveness' (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). It does this by: preventing over–production,
minimizing waiting times and transport costs, saving resources by streamlining the production
systems, reducing the capital Riordan may have tied up in stock, and decreasing product defects. It
also reduces the need for storage and allows Riordan to have increased space for production at their
facility in China.
Possible Bottlenecks and Offered Solutions Possible bottlenecks to the Riordan manufacturing

Analysis Of Madeleine Thien 's Do Not Say We Have Nothing
Canada is a nation that prides itself on acceptance, allowing anyone to do anything regardless of the
person or dream. However, what happens to a person if this is not the case? If dreams are treated the
exact opposite, looked down upon by everyone around them. The inevitable consequences of the
denial of one's dreams is demonstrated in Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien, where
musicians and friends, Sparrow, Kai, and Zhuli, live in an era surrounded by people who despise
what they do. Despite all three responding to the constant hostility in different ways, all three live
miserable lives in the end. As a result of the harsh Chinese culture in Madeleine Thien's Do Not Say
We Have Nothing, musicians are being restricted, as not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is beat and humiliated simply because she is a violinist. On one occasion, Zhuli was simply
practicing her violin at her conservatory and on the way to pick up oil and grains for her family.
Despite not causing any trouble, she encounters some Red Guards, and because she is known for her
passion for music, she is physically and verbally abused in the public eye. She was "slapped [on] the
side of her head over and over." (Thein 253), and ink is poured onto her face, which dried and
tightens on her skin. After this event, she questions if she truly is this horrible person everyone
claims she is, asking herself "Is it a crime to be myself? Is it a crime to disbelieve?" (Thien 253) The
consistent negative feedback from everyone causes her to question herself, leading her to conclude
that she no longer deserves to live, resulting in her hanging herself not too long after. Despite being
extremely gifted in music, she is discouraged from pursuing what she loves, due to the constant hate
she receive. She no longer knows who she truly is anymore, and ultimately committing suicide to
end the pain and suffering she feels inside, never allowing her to see the limits of her talent. Another
way the community restricts its musicians is from the government repeatedly spreading propaganda
in multiple forms, including speakers and posters. They constantly remind the public of their vision

Autonomous Truck Drivers
Correspondingly, the danger of job loss due to self–driving vehicles should be taken into
consideration. Most vehicle companies want their self–driving vehicles ready by 2020. Just one
example explains, " Daimler executives have said the system powering the autonomous truck,
dubbed Highway Pilot, may be ready for real–world application by 2020" (Muoio, "These 19").
With the extreme rise of production with autonomous vehicles, the opposite shift occurs for jobs and
careers in this field. Furthermore, people do not realize how many jobs and workers make up this
field. Notably, one article states, "According to the CGPS report, of the nation's 4.1 million driving
jobs, 77 percent are delivery and heavy truck drivers, 14 percent bus drivers, and ... Show more

As more self–driving cars and trucks hit the road, the more damage hackers can do. An article
explains that the makers of autonomous vehicles need to be prepared for this type of issue, "These
vehicles will have to anticipate and defend against a full spectrum of malicious attackers wielding
both traditional cyberattacks and a new generation of attacks based on so–called adversarial
machine learning" (Garfinkel). If people can hack into these fully autonomous vehicles, then they
can gain full control of the system. Consequently, these hackers could crash the vehicle, drive the
vehicle to a certain dangerous area, and cause many other problems. Preventing these hackers may
become a problem in the near future. Difficulties involving the prevention of these hackers become
aware in one article, which states, "The computer vision and collision avoidance systems under
development for autonomous vehicles rely on complex machine–learning algorithms that are not
well understood, even by the companies that rely on them" (Garfinkel). Without a doubt, any
companies that will produce autonomous vehicles needs to analyze and work out possible problems
before rushing these potentially dangerous vehicles on the road. Vehicle manufacturers have people
thinking that these self–driving vehicles have been tested out and proven as safe, but one article tells

The Internal Influential Factors That Affect College...
Analysis on the internal influential factors that affect college students ' financial investment
tendency 1. Introduction: "Investment" can be used to refer to any mechanism used for the purpose
of generating future income. In an economic sense, an investment is the purchase of non–monetary
asset that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth, such as education
investment. In finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will
provide income in the future or will be sold at a higher price for a profit. College students is a
representative group in current society. To the vast majority of them, college enrollment may be the
first time to experience financial independence without parent 's supervision. With more disposable
money from either parents or part–time job, money management appears to be very important for
college students. Among Chinese consumers, college students represent the biggest segment of the
total Internet users (CNNIC, 2013). However, limited research has been conducted to better
understand the financial behavior (e.g. savings and indebtedness) and tendencies of this special
group, since the concern over the role of young consumers is relatively new. Those who are about to
enter into society will add new blood with great investment potential to financial market.
Understanding this group's financial behavior and tendency are important for marketers to develop
strategies to target big consumer

Jack Ma Leadership Analysis
INTRODUCTION
The objective of this paper is to apply the knowledge learned in class by studying the leadership
characteristics and styles of a leader and what contributed to his/her successes and failures.
In my case I have chosen Jack Ma, founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group. He has
become one of the most influential businessmen and is a global example of leadership. However, his
road to success was not easy. He had to overcome failure in several occasions and work hard to
build his own company and become an influential and powerful global leader.
The first thing that will be covered in this paper is his biography. This will help to understand what
kind of person he is, how he was able to arrive to a position of power and give an idea of his traits
and behaviors. Next, an in depth leadership analysis will follow. This analysis will be based on the
theories seen in class.
BIOGRAPHY
Jack Ma was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. He started studying English at an early
age and practiced English every day talking with English speakers at the Hangzhou International
Hotel, 70 minutes by bicycle from home. He made free tours of the city to improve his English for
nine years. He became a pen pal with one of those foreigners, who nicknamed him "Jack" because
he found it difficult to pronounce his Chinese name.

Xi Jinping : The Father Of Fuping Country
Background
Xi Jinping is a native of Fuping County in Shaanxi province but was born in Beijing on 15 June
1953. Xi's father, Xi Zhongxun, was a renowned revolutionary and a political leader of the country
who was serving as the director of the Central Propaganda Department in Beijing when his son was
born. Xi Zhongxun's legacy looms large in CCP history, his contributions include the establishment
of communist guerrilla bases in the northwestern China in the 1930s, fighting against the Japanese
and Kuomintang armies in the 1940s, the stabilization of Tibet and Xinjiang in the 1950s, and the
initiation of economic liberalization in the southern China in the 1980s.
Xi Jinping is the second son of Xi Zhongxun with his second wife Qi Xin. When Xi was a young
child, Xi's family was very affluent and lived in Zhongnanhai leadership compound next to the
Forbidden City. However, in 1962, Xi Zhongxun was accused by Mao Zedong of forming an anti–
party clique and purged from all leadership positions. Consequently, the family was kicked out from
Zhongnanhai and lost much of their wealth and status. In 1965, Xi's father was sent to Luoyang in
Henan as the deputy manager of a tractor factory. His mother was also sent down to a work camp in
the countryside in 1966 when Mao launched the Cultural Revolution. His father was further
punished in 1968 and was finally jailed.
In 1969, Xi's secondary education was cut short when he was sent down to Liangjiahe village in
Yanchuan County, Shaanxi province. The 15–year–old Xi Jinping did hard labor making a cave his
home with bricks as his bed and buckets as his toilet. Later, he became the party secretary of the
production team in the village. Xi has acknowledged on numerous occasions that those six years
working in the countryside were the "defining experience" of his life and career. He made several
life–long friends with fellow sent–down youths such as Wang Qishan and Wang Chen. When his
father was freed from jail in 1975, Xi was selected as a "worker–peasant–soldier" student and
entered Tsinghua University, one of the most prestigious universities in China, without taking the
National College Entrance Exam. He studied Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua and roomed with

The CDC has gotten their information on health databases in the United States. They also have used
surveys to complete their data based on middle and high school tobacco use experience. The CDC
has collected this information from different health care websites and have drafted a survey in order
to obtain research and real life experiences of early tobacco use. The instrument they used to collect
this data from high school and middle school students is a survey and also used databases to
understand and analyze their survey. They analyzed and presented their data in paragraph form by
comparing it to other years and statistics from previous years. The CDC measured the age if these
respondents to be in middle and high school. This will provide the most accurate data since it affects
them personally. The survey was conducted in 2016 to evaluate information about these students and
their smoking habits. Risk factors of smoking include social/physical environments,

(2016) reported that these three components constituted the majority (75%) of the outpatient
expenditure. On average, patients who received only outpatient care spent 1,135 Chinese yuan upon
completion of TB treatment. However, the cost was ten times higher for the patients who received
both outpatient and inpatient care (up to 11,117 Chinese yuan)[23]. Hu et al. (2016) found that the
average inpatient cost in six counties of Jiangsu and Shanxi provinces ranged from 3678 to 7215
Chinese yuan, with the average length of stay ranging from 12 to 22 days. The average medical
costs for TB inpatients in two counties (7,215 and 4,644 yuan) even exceeded the NCMS
reimbursable limits in the two counties (5,500 yuan and 3,800 yuan) respectively [24].
Catastrophic health expenditure
Studies often used the catastrophic health expenditure (CHE) to measure the financial burden of TB
treatment. They either used household income measurement, i.e., total OPP as a percent of
household income exceeding 10%; or household capacity to payment measurement, i.e., percent of
OPP exceeding 40% of the non–food expenditure. Chen et al. (2015) found that, more than half of
the TB patients suffered from catastrophic health expenditure (CHE), using household income
measurement, in nine counties of three cities of three provinces, where the integrated model was the
main model for service delivery [25]. The authors defined total OPP as the sum of direct medical

Personal Statement Of Academic Performance In High School
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Growing up, I spent most of my time focusing on my academic performance and I was never a fan
of fashion till the age of 18. The high school I attended had a very strict dress code and every
student must wear a full set of uniform, including a shirt, a jacket and long trousers, which led me to
less or none exposure to the fashion industry.
Because of my outstanding performance in high school, I was qualified to be exempted from
university entrance exam. I recommended by my high school for the direct admission to Zhejiang
University. Being exempted from the exam means I got extra six months of vacation compare to
other students of my age. After taking off my high school uniform, I started traveling around the
world which gave me the chance to see so many luxurious designer brands. At first, I was attracted
by their exquisite appearance but then I began to understand the meanings and stories behind each
brand and design concept.
Once again because of my outstanding performance at Zhejiang University, I was unanimously
elected as the president of the student council of the School Foreign Languages. During this year, I
have learned to coordinate and work with various departments as a team. As a leader of the team and
a representative of the School Foreign Languages, I have developed skills in areas of negotiation,
public speaking, time management and many more. As a result of my excellent work, I have

One might believe that marketing strategies are interchangeable within countries throughout the
world; however, one must carefully consider the cultural and economic disparities between those
countries. Computer tablets vary in price, performance, available applications, and durability. For
example, what one might find inexpensive in the United States could be a month's salary in another.
The primary use of a computer tablet in Mexico is Facebook, while in China it is gaming. Moreover,
a significant influence in purchasing a computer tablet for Americans is performance, while in China
it is the price. Therefore, manufacturers should study, analyze, and implement economic and cultural

quality of the content found on the Internet that makes it legitimate. Utilizing today's modern
technology, nearly anyone can build an Internet community with little or no financial resources.
These platforms for communication can be physical or virtual, such as a storefront or an Internet
forum. Chinese social media platforms, such as Renren and Weibo, are very effective and
inexpensive strategies. People often refer to Renren as "China's Facebook," as it is trendy,
successful, and free. Another effective community to practice WOM marketing is a company or
product forum. A forum offers product owners a place where they could openly express their
concerns and experiences with others, while potential customers could obtain product reviews from
"real people." Online communities form bonds between members, which in turn develops a reliable
resource within the most utilized information search tool, the Internet.

The Lowering Ages of Students Who Study Abroad Essay
The Lowering Ages of Students Who Study Abroad
With the development of economy of China, the tendency for students to study abroad increases
every year. According to a report of the Institute of International Education, there are 229,300
Chinese students who chose to study abroad in 2010. That data means people who went to study
abroad exceed 30 percentages than the previous year. (Lin 1) A statistics showed Chinese spent 10
billion CNY, which equals about 1.5 billion dollars on study abroad every year. What makes people
curious is that students who study as high school students or undergraduate students occupied a
huge part. This phenomenon is totally different from ten years ago. Before that time, most of

They get up at six a.m., study all day long and go back home at 9.p.m. Everything, which conflicts
with the goal, will be regarded as wrong. Especially in the third year of senior middle school,
students have no art or music class. All they do every day is doing exercise in textbook and listening
to the lecture. Despite of that, a lot of students are not able to get the opportunities to be admitted by
their preferred universities. They have to study one more year and take the exam again .(Rong ,Shi
114)Some of them who are not willing to study one more year, prefer study abroad and get a degree
in foreign countries rather than study in ordinary universities of China. So, a lot of students choose
to study abroad after their senior high school. What is more, some students who want to escape from
the competitive environment even choose to enter foreign senior high school, after graduating from
junior high school. (Zhu 1) This situation is a departure from the previous years, in which students
study abroad for graduate degree or PhD. The competitive environment is a reasonable explanation
for lowering ages of Chinese abroad students.
Another reason is the improvement of economic condition of Chinese people. Because the
government only provides financial aids for visiting scholars and undergraduate students who major
in some certain areas, most of the Chinese students did not have opportunities to study abroad at
young ages ten years ago. Unlike 20th century, students

East Asian Reaction to European Presence Essay
In the fifteenth century, Europeans started to seek "treasures" in Asia. Their goals were to search
resources and markets and spread Christianity. They found spice and sugar in South Asia. At that
time, South Asian countries were not strong enough to restrict European's activities on their own
land. However, when Europeans tried to enter East Asian, the East Asian countries such as China
and Japan set strict rules to prevent their countries from European powers. Chinese emperors strictly
limited European merchants' activities in China and did not want to corporate with them. In the
seventeenth century, China was dominated by the Qing dynasty. Emperors of Qing dynasty closed

spies of Europeans to help emperors. Because Europeans threatened military leaders' powers,
Shogun strictly forbade any relations with Europeans. Another goal of Europeans was spreading
Christianity. Nevertheless this mission was even harder than trading with Japan and China. People
from both countries were unwilling to accept Christianity. The major beliefs in China were
Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism. Japanese mainly believed in Shintoism, Buddhism, or
Confucianism. However, the doctrine of Christianity declared that there was only one God in the
world which was their Lord. Chinese and Japanese were not able to accept this religion. In addition,
the Closed Country Edict of 1635 stated "if there is any place where the teaching of padres is

The First Opium War
As a result, this devastated Britain. Finally, the British handed over the last of the year's crop of
opium. Lin Zexu had trenches dug to destroy the opium. He had the opium drenched in water, salt,
and lime juice, making it unusable. Britain was enraged after seeing the result of their precious
opium. They demanded that China pay millions in compensation. When the Chinese refused, Britain
forced China into open trade. Furthermore, Great Britain sent a large fleet of ships to attack China.
The ships arrived June of 1840. Britain took over cities and towns one by one. Guang Zhou,
Dinghai, Zhejiang, and Beijing are some of the cities they either took over or destroyed. When the

Even so, the Chinese were delaying their part of the treaty. In all actuality, I think that they were
trying to avoid dealing with the treaty at all costs. At this point in time, Great Britain was growing
impatient with all of the delays and excuses being given. In 1856, the British decided to ally with
France to teach China another "lesson". Thus, the second opium war began. With all things
considered, nothing relatively important happened during this war. Just a few squabbles here and

China cuisine
Chinese cuisine has various styles, depending on the region of China, and some of the characteristic
meals became very popular in other parts of the world – from Asia to America, Australia, Western
Europe and South Africa. In addition to being one of the world's oldest cuisine, Chinese cuisine is
known as healthy, and the Chinese are known for their long life and health. Vegetables and meat
have a very important place in this cuisine, and the main feature is their short heat treatment. They
are always fried briefly and left almost half raw and that's the most important thing about it. When

Everything happens quickly, short and fast. In many dishes of Chinese cuisine, food is prepared with
parts of food that are cut into bite–size and are ready to be eaten immediately. In traditional Chinese
culture sticks are used and it is in a way based on the opposites. For example, the hot food is always
served with some cold dish, and spicy dishes always come with something to soften the taste. The
flavors are achieved by using numerous spices like vinegar, pepper, hot peppers, or sugar, and a
great attention is paid to decorating the plate.
As previously mentioned, Chinese cuisine is not just about one typical style, but rather various

Summary Of The Record Of The Peach Blossom Spring By Tao...
In the 4th century, there was a story about a fisherman. After an exhausting day, he accidentally
encountered a lovely stream full of peach trees on the shores. He followed the trace of the water, and
entered an extremely narrow cave. Yet, when he eventually walked through the tunnel, the scene he
saw stunned him:
After walking another twenty or thirty paces, he suddenly exited onto an open clearing. The land
became flat and broad. Houses were neatly arranged in rows. There were fertile fields, beautiful
ponds, mulberry trees, bamboo groves and the like. Pathways crisscrossed the fields, and one could
hear the intermingled sounds of chickens and dogs. There were people walking back and forth,
busying themselves with planting crops. The clothing of the men and women was unlike anything he
had ever seen. Old and young alike seemed happy and contented. (Tao Yuanming, The Record of the
Peach Blossom Spring, excerpt of the 2nd paragraph)
What an ideal life of retreat! Deep in the unknown mountain range hidden a traditional village with
pleasant scenery, careful orderliness, empowered productivity, and most importantly, happy
residents. The author of the ancient text, Tao Yuanming, was himself a reclusive figure who quit his
governmental post in exchange of a peaceful rural life in which he was able to interact harmoniously

Similarities Between Sui And Tang Dynasties
In Sui and Tang Dynasties, there were numerous painting masters who not only inherited the
excellent tradition of the Six Dynasties since Han and Wei but also had made innovations (Stephen

Among of them, Wu Daozi was apotheosized as the "Painting Sage" who was a revolutionary turn in
Chinese painting. His influence has been profound of the people who joined the "Shuimo

Sunflower And Twelve Plants And Calligraphy
Sunflower and Twelve Plants and Calligraphy Being an artist takes time, dedication and

Zhejiang, did not grow up in the ideal situation, he was orphaned at a young age, but escaped his
problems in life by painting and writing calligraphy; where he excelled the most. (BOOK pg. 208)
Later during the Ming dynasty, he began to paint flowers and plants. One of his famous works in

well–known artist from this century is Liu Dan. Liu Dan is also from China and was a fan of
studying Confucian classics, poetry and calligraphy with his grandfather. He enjoys creating new
perspectives on his pieces and one of his artworks that hits close to home is called Sunflower (2).
This artwork is found right here in Minnesota at the Minnesota Institute of Art. In this paper, I will
explore the similarities and differences found in the composition of Xu Wei's Twelve Plants and
Twelve Calligraphers and Liu Dan's Sunflower. The composition can be broken down into space,

The Influence Of Hannibal In Rome
Hannibal played an important role in the history of the western world( not only in Rome, but also in
Carthaginian); Hannibal not only had positive impact but also negative impact. Hannibal contributed
mostly in military. During his life, Hannibal took part in many wars and had many achievements.
These achievements are especially in the aspects of important events which he created in time of
war, his thinking of military strategy, and his speaking or action also influence on other people.
Primarily, it goes without any doubt that Hannibal created an important event: he leaded the Second
Punic War. And the turning point of this war was "Hannibal's crossing of the Alps". Hannibal
crossed the Alps in 218 BC during the Second Punic War. Today, there is a concern on why did
Hannibal cross the Alps. According to doctor Chu who is now a famous professor of European
history in Zhejiang university: " To defeat Rome, Hannibal must intrude into Rome itself. Rome had
command of the sea from south to north Africa at that time, so that Hannibal's troops can only attack
Rome on land, but on road, there were Roman troops everywhere,as a result Hannibal had to
choose to cross Alps which was a seemingly impossible place to breakthrough."(Chu,2014). This
achievement is bases on that Hannibal knew the rule deeply that enemy won't defense the place ...

Essay On Spectcopying
Spectral imaging, which enables collection of more color information than a typical camera, reveals
the properties of tissues or other biological material that the naked eye would miss. Scientists from
several universities in China have teamed up to design a new smartphone–compatible device that
enables easy and economical acquisition of spectral images of ordinary objects, with potential
applications in point–of–care medical diagnosis.
The device could be used for detecting oxygen saturation in a patient's blood, determining whether
meat is fresh and even the level of freshness, as well as identifying fruits that are perfectly ripe
among other applications. It could also make it easier to collect spectral data for scientific studies in

The scientists say all components used are available commercially and can be acquired for a total of
less than US$300. For the light source, they used an array of white light LEDs, which they
connected to an optical lens tube that carries the CMOS detector and other optical parts necessary
for spectral imaging.
The spectrometer is held like a pencil and moved across the target area to scan and image an object.
Through this manual push–broom scanning method, a sequence of spectral images is accumulated.
The pictures are then sent to a computer or smartphone where software compiles the data into a 3D
spectral image data cube.
The research team tested the spectrometer on bananas to detect ripeness and on a piece of pork to
detect levels of myoglobin – the iron–rich protein that gives meat its color. They also tried it on a
human hand, obtaining 200 spectral images in the form of a 16–second video. The 3D spectral
models enabled the scientists to distinguish the palm and five fingers and see the distribution of
hemoglobin in various parts of the hand.
What's next?
The scientists from China expressed their interest in perfecting the compact imaging spectrometer
for use in monitoring the environment. "Currently, we are developing distributed spectral cameras

Manufacturing Of Lithium Ion Batteries Essay
Globally, 78% of mobile phone users have a smartphone (Close–Up Media, Inc, "Deloitte Report:
Mobile Consumers Check Phones over 80 Billion Times a Day Globally."). Lithium ion batteries,
which were introduced by Sony in the early 1990s, are the most common battery to be used in
smartphones and other mobile devices due to their high levels of efficiency, their lightweight design,
and their ability to be recharged (Hock, "Power Up"). As a result of worldwide demand for lithium
ion batteries, mobile technology producers, such as Microsoft and Apple, are dependent on the
acquisition of cobalt–a key element in the manufacturing of lithium ion batteries–at the lowest price
possible. In their quest for low prices, these companies purchase cobalt from cobalt producers that
mine in impoverished areas which lack workplace regulations that ensure safety and fair treatment
of laborers. One of the preeminent cobalt suppliers in the world is a Chinese company named
Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, and this firm receives a vast amount of cobalt from a Congo–based
subsidiary called Congo DongFang International Mining. A majority of the world's cobalt, 60%, is
mined in the Congo (Frankel, "This Is Where Your Smartphone Battery Begins.").
One need not look far to see the ethical implications of obtaining cobalt from these Congolese
mines. Many worldwide organizations, for example Amnesty International, have criticized the
practices of these mines. Viewing this issue from the Kantian lens, once can

Literature Review On Chinese Furniture Industry
LITERATURE REVIEW
China is leading as the largest furniture exporter in the world. The fast development of China's
furniture industry is the implementation of export–led strategy which has been highly promoted.
Over the recent two decades China's furniture industry is winning the world's attention with its fast
development (Cao et al. 2004). The China's forestry industrial structure improvement attributes to
the advanced development and rationalization of the process (Yang and Nie 2011a). Chinese
government has promoted the implementation of export oriented strategy since the reform and
opening up in 1978 through encouraging foreign investment, by giving the chance to foreign
investors set up factories locally and exchanging market for capital or technology.
Research and Market 2006, as well as Virginia et al., 2003 concluded that Chinese furniture
manufacturing has made remarkable progress which is driven by the fast development of the
domestic economy, high foreign investment and a booming export business. It is therefore most
recognized that, the booming growth of China's furniture industry can be mainly associated to an
abundant work force and low costs (Cao et al. 2004, Cao and Hansen 2006, Han et al. 2009, Han
2010).
The Chinese furniture industry is affiliated to low labor cost as its primary important advantage. On
the other hand, evidence shows that there may be a labor shortage in qualified workers in massively
industrialized areas. In responding to the

The Great Migration Of Chinese Immigrants In The 19th Century
Similar to all the other countries in the 19th century, early Chinese immigrants were "pushed" by
forces in China and "pulled" by attractions in the United States. These pushes mainly came from
natural disasters, internal rebellious, and imperialistic aggressions in China. The pulls came from the
discovery of gold in California and different kinds of opportunities in the United States. The push
and pull factors resulted in the great migration of Chinese to the United States.
In the early 1800s, China faced lots of natural disasters. The major ones were happened in Henan

Impact Of The Automobile Industry On The Economy Due The...
The automobile industry plays an outsized role in the economy due the industry's cyclicality and the
multiplier effect. For instance, a gearbox is purchased from a supplier that has to employ labor,
purchase raw materials such as, copper, steel, wire, and other related components and services to
support the activity. All of these parts are in turn purchased from other suppliers with costs to
support their businesses. Therefore, as each supplier purchases components and services that they
need, an increasing propensity to consume and invest in the economy raises. For over 10 years, the
government of China had tried to develop a car industry. The government 's starting steps included
the production of joint endeavors in which government–possessed firms got to be accomplices of
remote exclusive enterprises. The greater part of these joint endeavors were amazingly effective
fiscally. Then again, progressing contrasts in administration inclinations made a consistent pressure
inside of the joint ventures. One of the specific concerns for the Chinese government was to
guarantee that its new car industry would receive the most recent advances in innovations. This
subject of innovation exchange, and how the government of China could best support it, turned into
a main issue of concern in China 's car industry. From the point of view of the government of China,
Geely 's acquiring of Volvo would be a major stride in accomplishing innovation transfer on a
continuous premise. Geely 's

Budget Hotel The Advantages and Disadvantages of 7 Days Inn As a typical budget hotel, Seven Days Group Holdings Limited established in 2005 and now, more than 1000 Seven Days Inn have scattered all around the China (Zhang, 2012). I registered to be a member of 7 Days Inn two years age, and have already lodged in three branch stores in different cities during my travels. Budget hotels are considered as 1 star hotel because they provide lodging at cheaper price varies from 30$–40$ per room per night. For its clients, they will have the convenience of reading about the service and updated information on their own time. 7 Days Inn already had a website, but as a permanent member, I only use it for my reservation. Most of the customers can not find some more interesting and eye–catching information. Besides presenting its hotel rate and some basic hotel introductions, to well develop its company website, the 7 Days Inn's webmasters should take measures to perfect its company website, like encouraging all the staffs and customers to publish their ideas and experiences of lodging in 7 Days Inn. On the other hand, obsolete and deficient equipments in some guest rooms also make the customers unsatisfied with 7 Days Inn. I once complained the small and obsolete TV set in my guest room, because I even could not find CCTV–NEWS channel. Among all the problems about deficient and obsolete equipments, the dullish and yellow lighting in some branch stores is most annoying. Lighting, whose aim is to temporarily receive guests and revivify the staffs, has to be designed for different purposes in different areas. However, in two branch stores that I lodged in, the lightings in corridors were so dim during days and nights, while the lighting color and intensity in the guest rooms was unchangeable. The JIT principles use tools, and techniques that allow Riordan Manufacturing "to produce and deliver products in small quantities, with short lead times, to meet specific customer need" (Chase, Jacobs, & Aquilano, 2006). Simply put, JIT delivers the electric fan products at the right time in the right amounts for each customer. However, what happens to a person if this is not the case? If dreams are treated the exact opposite, looked down upon by everyone around them. The inevitable consequences of the denial of one's dreams is demonstrated in Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien, where musicians and friends, Sparrow, Kai, and Zhuli, live in an era surrounded by people who despise what they do. Despite all three responding to the constant hostility in different ways, all three live miserable lives in the end. She was "slapped [on] the side of her head over and over." (Thein 253), and ink is poured onto her face, which dried and tightens on her skin. After this event, she questions if she truly is this horrible person everyone claims she is, asking herself "Is it a crime to be myself? Is it a crime to disbelieve?" (Thien 253) The consistent negative feedback from everyone causes her to question herself, leading her to conclude that she no longer deserves to live, resulting in her hanging herself not too long after. Despite being extremely gifted in music, she is discouraged from pursuing what she loves, due to the constant hate she receive. She no longer knows who she truly is anymore, and ultimately committing suicide to end the pain and suffering she feels inside, never allowing her to see the limits of her talent. Most vehicle companies want their self–driving vehicles ready by 2020. Just one example explains, " Daimler executives have said the system powering the autonomous truck, dubbed Highway Pilot, may be ready for real–world application by 2020" (Muoio, "These 19"). With the extreme rise of production with autonomous vehicles, the opposite shift occurs for jobs and careers in this field. Furthermore, people do not realize how many jobs and workers make up this field. Introduction: "Investment" can be used to refer to any mechanism used for the purpose of generating future income. In an economic sense, an investment is the purchase of non–monetary asset that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth, such as education investment. In finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will be sold at a higher price for a profit. College students is a representative group in current society. To the vast majority of them, college enrollment may be the first time to experience financial independence without parent 's supervision. With more disposable money from either parents or part–time job, money management appears to be very important for college students. Among Chinese consumers, college students represent the biggest segment of the total Internet users (CNNIC, 2013). However, limited research has been conducted to better understand the financial behavior (e.g. savings and indebtedness) and tendencies of this special group, since the concern over the role of young consumers is relatively new. Those who are about to enter into society will add new blood with great investment potential to financial market. • 26. Xi Jinping : The Father Of Fuping Country Background Xi Jinping is a native of Fuping County in Shaanxi province but was born in Beijing on 15 June 1953. Xi's father, Xi Zhongxun, was a renowned revolutionary and a political leader of the country who was serving as the director of the Central Propaganda Department in Beijing when his son was born. Xi Zhongxun's legacy looms large in CCP history, his contributions include the establishment of communist guerrilla bases in the northwestern China in the 1930s, fighting against the Japanese and Kuomintang armies in the 1940s, the stabilization of Tibet and Xinjiang in the 1950s, and the initiation of economic liberalization in the southern China in the 1980s. Xi Jinping is the second son of Xi Zhongxun with his second wife Qi Xin. When Xi was a young child, Xi's family was very affluent and lived in Zhongnanhai leadership compound next to the Forbidden City. However, in 1962, Xi Zhongxun was accused by Mao Zedong of forming an anti– party clique and purged from all leadership positions. Consequently, the family was kicked out from Zhongnanhai and lost much of their wealth and status. In 1965, Xi's father was sent to Luoyang in Henan as the deputy manager of a tractor factory. His mother was also sent down to a work camp in the countryside in 1966 when Mao launched the Cultural Revolution. His father was further punished in 1968 and was finally jailed. In 1969, Xi's secondary education was cut short when he was sent down to Liangjiahe village in Yanchuan County, Shaanxi province. The 15–year–old Xi Jinping did hard labor making a cave his home with bricks as his bed and buckets as his toilet. Later, he became the party secretary of the production team in the village. Xi has acknowledged on numerous occasions that those six years working in the countryside were the "defining experience" of his life and career. He made several life–long friends with fellow sent–down youths such as Wang Qishan and Wang Chen. When his father was freed from jail in 1975, Xi was selected as a "worker–peasant–soldier" student and entered Tsinghua University, one of the most prestigious universities in China, without taking the National College Entrance Exam. On average, patients who received only outpatient care spent 1,135 Chinese yuan upon completion of TB treatment. The average medical costs for TB inpatients in two counties (7,215 and 4,644 yuan) even exceeded the NCMS reimbursable limits in the two counties (5,500 yuan and 3,800 yuan) respectively [24]. Personal Statement Of Academic Performance In High School PERSONAL STATEMENT Growing up, I spent most of my time focusing on my academic performance and I was never a fan of fashion till the age of 18. The high school I attended had a very strict dress code and every student must wear a full set of uniform, including a shirt, a jacket and long trousers, which led me to less or none exposure to the fashion industry. Because of my outstanding performance in high school, I was qualified to be exempted from university entrance exam. I recommended by my high school for the direct admission to Zhejiang University. Being exempted from the exam means I got extra six months of vacation compare to other students of my age. After taking off my high school uniform, I started traveling around the world which gave me the chance to see so many luxurious designer brands. At first, I was attracted by their exquisite appearance but then I began to understand the meanings and stories behind each brand and design concept. After an exhausting day, he accidentally encountered a lovely stream full of peach trees on the shores. He followed the trace of the water, and entered an extremely narrow cave. Yet, when he eventually walked through the tunnel, the scene he saw stunned him: After walking another twenty or thirty paces, he suddenly exited onto an open clearing. The land became flat and broad. Houses were neatly arranged in rows. There were fertile fields, beautiful ponds, mulberry trees, bamboo groves and the like. Pathways crisscrossed the fields, and one could hear the intermingled sounds of chickens and dogs. There were people walking back and forth, busying themselves with planting crops. The clothing of the men and women was unlike anything he had ever seen. Old and young alike seemed happy and contented. The Influence Of Hannibal In Rome Hannibal played an important role in the history of the western world( not only in Rome, but also in Carthaginian); Hannibal not only had positive impact but also negative impact. Hannibal contributed mostly in military. During his life, Hannibal took part in many wars and had many achievements. These achievements are especially in the aspects of important events which he created in time of war, his thinking of military strategy, and his speaking or action also influence on other people. Primarily, it goes without any doubt that Hannibal created an important event: he leaded the Second Punic War. And the turning point of this war was "Hannibal's crossing of the Alps". Hannibal crossed the Alps in 218 BC during the Second Punic War. Today, there is a concern on why did Hannibal cross the Alps. According to doctor Chu who is now a famous professor of European history in Zhejiang university: " To defeat Rome, Hannibal must intrude into Rome itself. Rome had command of the sea from south to north Africa at that time, so that Hannibal's troops can only attack Rome on land, but on road, there were Roman troops everywhere,as a result Hannibal had to choose to cross Alps which was a seemingly impossible place to breakthrough."(Chu,2014). Review: For All the Tea in China For all the Tea in China by Sarah Rose reviewed by Brooke Gschwind "For all the Tea in China –How England Stole the World 's Favorite Drink and Changed History " as the subtitle foreshadows the story already. Before I had even read the book I assumed it would be a journey of betrayal, action and only closed off to the events that occur re 's as Robert Fortune underhandedly takes china 's precious tea right from underneath they 're own noses. Essay On Spectcopying Spectral imaging, which enables collection of more color information than a typical camera, reveals the properties of tissues or other biological material that the naked eye would miss. Scientists from several universities in China have teamed up to design a new smartphone–compatible device that enables easy and economical acquisition of spectral images of ordinary objects, with potential applications in point–of–care medical diagnosis. The device could be used for detecting oxygen saturation in a patient's blood, determining whether meat is fresh and even the level of freshness, as well as identifying fruits that are perfectly ripe among other applications. It could also make it easier to collect spectral data for scientific studies in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The scientists say all components used are available commercially and can be acquired for a total of less than US$300. For the light source, they used an array of white light LEDs, which they connected to an optical lens tube that carries the CMOS detector and other optical parts necessary for spectral imaging. The spectrometer is held like a pencil and moved across the target area to scan and image an object. Through this manual push–broom scanning method, a sequence of spectral images is accumulated. The pictures are then sent to a computer or smartphone where software compiles the data into a 3D spectral image data cube. The research team tested the spectrometer on bananas to detect ripeness and on a piece of pork to detect levels of myoglobin – the iron–rich protein that gives meat its color. They also tried it on a human hand, obtaining 200 spectral images in the form of a 16–second video. The 3D spectral models enabled the scientists to distinguish the palm and five fingers and see the distribution of hemoglobin in various parts of the hand. What's next? The scientists from China expressed their interest in perfecting the compact imaging spectrometer for use in monitoring the environment. "Currently, we are developing distributed spectral cameras that could help conduct a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Manufacturing Of Lithium Ion Batteries Essay Globally, 78% of mobile phone users have a smartphone (Close–Up Media, Inc, "Deloitte Report: Mobile Consumers Check Phones over 80 Billion Times a Day Globally."). Lithium ion batteries, which were introduced by Sony in the early 1990s, are the most common battery to be used in smartphones and other mobile devices due to their high levels of efficiency, their lightweight design, and their ability to be recharged (Hock, "Power Up"). As a result of worldwide demand for lithium ion batteries, mobile technology producers, such as Microsoft and Apple, are dependent on the acquisition of cobalt–a key element in the manufacturing of lithium ion batteries–at the lowest price possible. In their quest for low prices, these companies purchase cobalt from cobalt producers that mine in impoverished areas which lack workplace regulations that ensure safety and fair treatment of laborers. One of the preeminent cobalt suppliers in the world is a Chinese company named Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, and this firm receives a vast amount of cobalt from a Congo–based subsidiary called Congo DongFang International Mining. A majority of the world's cobalt, 60%, is mined in the Congo (Frankel, "This Is Where Your Smartphone Battery Begins."). One need not look far to see the ethical implications of obtaining cobalt from these Congolese mines. Many worldwide organizations, for example Amnesty International, have criticized the practices of these mines. Viewing this issue from the Kantian lens, once can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 84. Impact Of The Automobile Industry On The Economy Due The... The automobile industry plays an outsized role in the economy due the industry's cyclicality and the multiplier effect. For instance, a gearbox is purchased from a supplier that has to employ labor, purchase raw materials such as, copper, steel, wire, and other related components and services to support the activity. All of these parts are in turn purchased from other suppliers with costs to support their businesses. Therefore, as each supplier purchases components and services that they need, an increasing propensity to consume and invest in the economy raises. For over 10 years, the government of China had tried to develop a car industry. The government 's starting steps included the production of joint endeavors in which government–possessed firms got to be accomplices of remote exclusive enterprises. The greater part of these joint endeavors were amazingly effective fiscally. Then again, progressing contrasts in administration inclinations made a consistent pressure inside of the joint ventures. One of the specific concerns for the Chinese government was to guarantee that its new car industry would receive the most recent advances in innovations. This subject of innovation exchange, and how the government of China could best support it, turned into a main issue of concern in China 's car industry. From the point of view of the government of China, Geely 's acquiring of Volvo would be a major stride in accomplishing innovation transfer on a continuous premise. Geely 's ...
