2. Why dose it happen?
Sleep walking happens because on
one side of the brain there is a
specific area that controls body
movement and speech. When
random electrical impulses hit this
area, it causes sleep walking or
talking
Just because you may sleep walk it doesn't
mean that there is anything wrong with
you!
3. When dose it happen?
Sleep walking behaviour usually
occurs during the stage four of
sleep, the deepest part of your
sleep. The non REM sleep.
Sleep walkers often have there eyes open and can
often move objects around so they don’t appear to
be asleep when really they are.
Sleep walking episodes
can last from a few
minutes to up to one
hour.
5. What do you do if someone sleep
walks?
If someone is sleep walking trying
to communicate with them is
point less.
Its definitely not dangerous to
wake them because they are just
like a normal person asleep.
It is always better to wake them so
that they don’t wander of and
hurt them selves.

Sleep walking may
be triggered by a
fever, general
illness, alcohol use,
sleep deprivation,
hormonal changes,
pregnancy or
emotional stress.
Usually is a genetic
component and
usually from
families of deep
sleepers
10x more likely to occur
if there is history of sleep
walking in the family
Between 5-15 minutes is
the average time for
sleep walking episodes
Sleep walkers typically have
no memory of there actions
upon waking
