3. PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
• Performance assessment: this assessment measures how well students apply their
knowledge, skills, and abilities to authentic problems. ..
• For example : Behind the wheel driving test to obtain a drivers licenses rather than
only answering simple multiple choice items.
• Following are some example of performance test in education:
• Presentation
• Deliver a speech
• Reading

4. FORMAL PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
• The student is informed about the assessment and the criteria at hand.
• A formal assessment is an evaluation method that uses a grading system to
score a student's level of knowledge.
• For example:
• We assigned the student a presentation to check their knowledge and skills
level .and give their knowledge the grade or rank.

5. Benefits of performance assessment
• Measure higher level cognitive outcomes.
• Complex psychomotor objectives can also be measured.
• Measure ability to engage in hands- in activities.
• Permit to decide which facts are most pertinent, to select own method of
organization and to write as much as seems necessary.
• Ability to reveal the ideas , relate them correctly and express them
compressively.
