Nevertheless, the Internet opens new ways to investigate in social and behavioural sciences because
there are many scientific questions about some target population that do not look for generalised
results but representative ones. As many scholars recognise, the Internet provides new opportunities
for non–random survey data (Couper, 2000; Fricker and Schonlau, 2002). In particular, these
authors distinguish the advantages of the Internet to capture the "hard to reach"/"hard to involve"
population. In fact, this paper proposes to analyze if social networking sites (SNSs), specifically the
Facebook network site, can help researchers to contact hidden or hard to reach persons. Although in
the last decade researchers became interested in the study of SNSs, they particularly focus on the
characteristics of the users of SNSs (Back et al., 2010), on the analysis of the social capital and their
influence in users behaviour (Ellison et al., 2007; Bigge, 2006) or on ethical issues concerning with
the reward of private information on the Internet (Acquisti and Gross, 2006; Boyd and Ellison,
2008; Boyd, 2008; Boyd and Hargittai, 2010). But until now it has not been common to exploit

If scientific and scholarly journals are needed, you have several options. The most accessible option

The second challenge of using this method is to chose the useful and trustworthy sources out of the
few articles that can be found. Some of the articles were written by organisations, some by
professors and some are more like personal blogs. This was not hard to overcome, as stated
previously that scab analysis can be done roughly for each source. It would take too much time to
do one for every source, but generally a trustworthy source can be identified if they have a credible
author and the correct information. To be able to recognise if the information within was correct,
multiple websites on the same topic were opened and compared. This will make sure the source is as
reliable as it can be.
Overall internet was extremely helpful in researching. The deep ocean was only explored so much;
there were limited information on what can be found. Internet was a place where the majority of

security situation much more volatile in the future. This is because advancements in technology
have made communication easier. For most countries, this means that they have access to news and

After conducting an exhaustive research on my Internet Footprint, I have found information that one
would find in a phone book such as my address & home phone number. However, one of the
surprising things I found were people I was associated with, particularly family members, age
demographic, & my date of birth. Most of this information is found on typical people search sites
such as Whitepages, Spokeo, Intelius, & 411. While I would like to find out if any other personal
information is posted on those sites, I am prompted to pay for additional services in order to access
that possible information. In terms of Google/Bing search images, I have found no existing pictures.
Since I have multiple e–mail addresses, I cross–referenced my name with my e–mail addresses to
see if it is associated any name other than my own. I have found no association nor any presence

user's list of IM buddies. These files are called Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) which

The main sources used and gathered within this research paper came from my initial searches using
Google Scholar. I went through many articles before choosing the best ones. When deciphering
which articles I would and wouldn't use, I looked at facts such, the dates they were published, the
scholarly authors, and so on. Articles from journals posed better sources for my research than simple
and biased articles by everyday people. It was a little frustrating to find ones that I felt as though

The amount of mobile phone and computer usage is also associated with waking–time tiredness and
unhealthy sleep habits. A South Korean study showed a 37.7 percent prevalence of excessive
daytime sleepiness due to addiction. As for possible addicts and non–addicts, it was significantly
lower at 13.9% and 7.4% respectively (Weinstein, 2010). Some other symptoms that addicts showed
were longer sleep latency, lower sleep efficiency, poorer sleep quality, more sleep disturbances,
daytime dysfunction, were more likely to use sleep medication, and be more depressed. That brings

are deficits in decision making functions, low self–esteem, potential for obsessive compulsive

The obsessive–compulsive symptom was found to be an independent factor that influenced the

The article "Emotion regulation, procrastination, and watching cat videos online: Who watches
Internet cats, why, and to what effect?" by Jessica Myrick examines cat videos on the internet, the
reason we watch them what effect they have on those that watch them. Myrick surveyed nearly 7000
internet users for their survey and it "tested associations between personality traits, past behavior,
and viewing cat–related media online, as well as examined Internet users' motivations for
consuming cat–related content, including emotion regulation and procrastination" (Myrick 168).

Research papers and projects are a nuisance! As high school students we are required to write
essays, and for that we are allowed to use school computers for research purposes, yet there is

This program blocks pages with inappropriate information, but the problem with this Internet filter
is that for some strange and unfair reason it blocks educational websites that could help students

While this research project was taking place, a method(s) of research had to be chosen. Multiple
options were considered such as online research, questioners, and interviews. It was found that the
questionnaires would not help the research because the information that was needed could not be
extrapolated out of a questionnaire. Secondly, interview(s) were ruled out of the question because
there was no one that could be found and contacted that was creditable. There was, however, an

When conducting the research, difficulties and challenges were experienced. One of the big
problems faced was finding a way to convert the differential equation into a function. Research
online helped narrow down the problem, and then specifically having a talk/interview with math's
personal at the school allowed for a solution to be found.
Throughout the research the most useful source was, Population Dynamics of Western Atlantic
Bluefin Tuna: Modeling the Impacts of Fishing using Differential Equations. The source was the
most useful because of the connections that was shown between population models and
mathematics. The reliability was judged to be high because of the authors Esther Bowen, Marie

be accurate. Lastly the information displayed was up to date and on topic.
If this research task was to be redone, there are a few improvements that could be made. Firstly the
topic was a little broad if the topic was narrowed down more, a more informative research project
could have been created. Secondly, more time with a specialist in mathematics, and more help
specifically with differential equation and calculus would have been externally productive. The
mathematical aspect of the research project would have been a lot stronger with more/longer access

My research project question was inspired by my overweight friend in year 5, who used to purchase
lunch orders from the school canteen every day. Studying Stage 2 Nutrition lead me to become
further intrigued by this topic and drew me to question how the school canteen could have
contributed to friend's weight issues and why some canteens are still less inclined to act on the issue
of obesity than other school canteens.

After spending a few hours reading webpages and finding numerous sources, reliable information
about deforestation in the Amazon was found. The World Wildlife Fund had very reliable
information as there were sources and statistics which could support their statements (World
Wildlife fund, 2015). The organisation is very credible as they always publish true information with
supporting sources. At times it was difficult to find exact information so narrowing the search made

A shocking 37% of educational websites are most likely to be blocked when internet filters are
applied to the school internet. This affects educational research for schools, however, this seems to

Internet addiction disorder, more commonly called problematic Internet use, refers to excessive
computer use which interferes with daily life. Internet overuse, problematic computer use, or
pathological computer use, problematic Internet use, or Internet addiction disorder. In the most
recent version of the DSM–5, Internet Gaming Disorder is the latest term to describe this problem.

IAD was originally proposed as a disorder in a satirical hoax by Ivan Goldberg, M.D., in 1995,

What could be better than making a naked bouncing egg?! Making a glowing one, of course! This
activity teaches little scientists about egg anatomy and osmosis takes just a few minutes to set up but
is seriously egg–citing! I think it's a good idea for teachers to participate in this experiment because
it's a good way to have fun.
First thing you will need is your materials which is: An egg, clear glass, vinegar, highlighters, and a
blacklight.
Second you have to know how to make a glowing bouncy egg and if you don't know how I will
show you how because it's surprisingly simple – the hardest part is having to wait.
To start, I took the polyester cylinder out of the highlighter and squeezed it to extract as much of the
ink as I could. The easiest way was to use my fingers, so be prepared for a little mess. Next, I very
carefully added a raw egg to each of the glasses and covered them with white vinegar. The pink and
orange solutions were very bright, but the solution with the yellow highlighter turned almost clear
when the vinegar was added. Now all I had to do was wait. I could see bubbles forming on the

YouTube posed somewhat of a question mark in my household when it came pre–downloaded onto
my mother's first iPhone in 2007. Only two years after its creation, the app's icon resembled a
