Music Video (Class Feedback)
Today within class my fellow classmates and I discussed about our ongoing music video that
we are producing for our A2 work. We had to watch each other’s rough draft of the music
video and discuss between ourselves what we liked about it, any slight setbacks and
mistakes, and lastly things to improve like the lengths of particular scenes, editing and
MES. After watching
my draft of my A2 music video I gained knowledge of what I needed to improve, change and
add in. For starters they generally like it even though it was a draft but there were some
bits that needed a little more, like adding more meaningful scenes at certain areas within
the video like at the beginning and within the end. I needed to add just one more scene at
the beginning because it seemed quite confusing whether or not the slow long pause between
the fades were done or purpose or I just wasn’t done completing it. Another meaningful
scene that was suggested to me by the class was that towards the ending I should add a
scene where I’m by myself while it’s raining to create a dramatically sad ending within
the music that I’ve been trying to do. They suggested that adding this possible scene
would make add a lot more heaviness to the video and make viewers have a greater
connections to how I’m feeling. Lastly a little more happy scenes just to make the music
video as a whole stand a lot stronger. Other than that there were notes where I had to
clean up some edits to make them on point with the tempo of the song and cut out some
parts that feel too long. Overall, I was
told that I had very good MES and that the video was generally a classy video with the
formal wear and the amount of enigma (as to what happened).
I plan to use all the various different feedback from my fellow classmates and my teacher
to use it as a bases as to what I need to improve, add and take away from the music video
in order to make it very interesting to watch.
