3. ADOBE PREMIERE ELEMENTS
To edit all our filmed scenes we used a piece of software called Adobe Premiere
Elements.
This piece of software enabled us to cut our footage, line it up in the correct
order, use transitions in between clips, we also able to create titles and use
transitions towards our titles also. We also used it to help create a darker
mood using the tint effect in the pre-set effects in the software
4. CAMERA
For our film we used a Full HD Panasonic camera, we found this piece of
equipment very easy to use and really didn’t find any problems.
5. CAMERA
For our film we used a Full HD Panasonic camera, we found this piece of
equipment very easy to use and really didn’t find any problems.
Unlike the SD camera that we used for our preliminary task which though it may
have been simpler to use we found that it came with more problems such as
not fully connecting with the microphone causing the sound in our prelim to
be very static and sometimes hard to understand.
6. MICROPHONES
For both our prelim and final piece we use a rode mic on the end of a boom pole,
this really allowed us to get quality audio without risking getting the mic in the
shot, but when we went back to look at our clips from our final piece, we
realised that in the scene’s where James Adams (Dan Payn) voice could not
be heard.

These were the only shots in which we had this problem. We could not find a way
to fix this so we were forced to re-shoot these clips. But this time we used a
clip mic to make sure that the sound was as clear and crisp as possible.
8. SOUND
For our soundtrack at the beginning of our film, Alex used a software called
Sibelius which is a music creating software.
9. SOUND
For our soundtrack at the beginning of our film, Alex used a software called
Sibelius which is a music creating software.
Sibelius's primary function is the creation, editing and printing of musical scores.
It supports virtually all music notations, enabling even the most complex of
scores (such as modern orchestral music) to be reproduced to publication
quality.
10. LIGHTING
When filming our final product we encountered lighting problems the most, as the
main bulk of our filming was done with a window directly behind Dan’s head,
this meant that we could not film when the sun was hard so we had to wait for
it to go behind the clouds to diffuse the light and making it softer.

When filming our final product we encountered lighting problems the most, as the
main bulk of our filming was done with a window directly behind Dan’s head,
this meant that we could not film when the sun was hard so we had to wait for
it to go behind the clouds to diffuse the light and making it softer.
To counteract this we used a mirror to bounce some light back onto the other side
of Dan’s face so that one side wasn’t in complete darkness. We were very
careful to make sure that too harsh of a light so that the whole of Dan’s face
would just become white light.
