2. Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word was an essential part of our project
as we used it during pre and post production.
Most of the laptops and computers we used
throughout the process has a form of Microsoft
Word on, which allowed us to type up our ideas.
Microsoft Word was one of the most useful
programmes as we knew how to use it before
hand, which meant that didn’t need to learn how to
use it.
Microsoft Word was used to create the Genre
Research, Treatment (etc)
3. Microsoft Powerpoint
Even though we didn’t use PowerPoint very often
during the production, it was still a helpful piece of
software.
We used PowerPoint to create presentations that
could then be uploaded onto SlideShare.
PowerPoint was useful as we already knew how to
use it so we didn’t need to take up any time
exploring its features.
We used PowerPoint to create the Hardware List,
Meeting Notes (etc)
4. Scribd
Scribd is a website that allows you to upload
documents so that they can easily be uploaded to
other sites (Such as Blogger).
This made it easier for us to upload the documents
we had completed in Microsoft Word to our blog.
5. Bubbl.us
Bubbl.us is a website that allows you to create
colourful brainstorms.
This website was useful in the pre production
planning of our opening sequence as it allowed us
to colour code certain segments of the brainstorm.
We used the website to create our main
Brainstorm, Uses and Gratification Theory, (etc)
6. Slide Share
Slideshare is a website that allows you to upload
presentations that they then convert into an embed
code so they can be easily posted onto another
website (in our case Blogger).
We used it as an alternative to PowerPoint for
documents such as this Equipment List.
7. Prezi
We also used Prezi as an alternative to PowerPoint
to make sure our work style was varied.
Since we hadn’t used Prezi before, it took a while
to get used to, but once we had it helped us create
more personalised presentations with smoother
transitions.
We used Prezi for our Pitch.
8. PowToon
We used PowToon during the project as an
alternative to PowerPoint. This helped keep our
blog varied and interesting.
Even though we hadn’t used PowToon before, it
was simple to get used to. However it did take quite
a while to generate presentations.
We used PowToon for Credit Used and Location
Notes.
9. Easel.ly
This is a website that allows you to present
information and pictures in a creative way.
We hadn’t used the website before so it took a little
while to get used to the different features.
Easel.ly was useful as we didn’t want to present all
of the documents in the same way as we thought it
would become boring.
Easel.ly was used for the Costume Notes.
10. Gmail
We all created a Gmail account so we could
communicate throughout the project.
Gmail was simple to use so we used this site to
create our group email address (as opposed to
Outlook).
Gmail helped us to communicate documents and
photographs during the course of the production.
11. Blogger
Blogger was probably the most essential piece of
software we used throughout making our
production.
Every piece of work we did was uploaded to
Blogger.
Each group member created a blog to post their
work on and linked the group blog to it.
This enabled each person in the group to check
what work the other members were doing.
We chose to use Blogger as we knew it was easy
to customise.
12. Final Cut Pro
We used Final Cut Pro to edit our footage on the
preliminary and main task.
As we didn’t have much experience with the
programme, it took a while to get used to. However
the preliminary task helped us to gain some
experience in using the programme.
Overall, we thought that Final Cut Pro was better
suited to the task than any other editing software.
13. Adobe Photoshop
The only time we used Photoshop was when we
were creating our Production Company Logo.
As every member of the group had used
Photoshop before, the task wasn’t as difficult to
complete as we thought.
14. Twitter
We used Twitter to promote our production as we
knew that the majority of our target audience used
the site.
We also thought that it may attract a wider range of
people from outside our planned target audience.
15. Facebook
We used Facebook to communicate and send each
other pictures and queries about tasks that needed
completing.
We also used Facebook as a form of advertising
for our Production and Production Company.
