2. Overview
• We have been asked to produce a short film for the
Shakespeare play ‘Titus Andronicus’ using the original
Shakespearean text. This made us work together to
produce the plans, props, location, costume ideas and
then filming and editing it for the final piece.
• My roles within the project mainly consisted with being
the primary cameraman on day 2 of filming and the
sound man on day 1 of the filming. As the sound man I
had to wear all the professional equipment and hold a
boom stick as close to the actors as I could without
getting it in the shot or being in the way of others.
• As the main cameraman I had to make decisions on the
day where the best places the camera could be setup
and the best angles I could use for the shots that we had
planned.
3. Reflection on working to a brief
• Working to a brief was very useful due to the fact
that all of the things that they said in the brief for us
to do was possible because it included all the
relevant information and we could keep looking
back to it if we got stuck on what to do.
• This helped our group to work quickly and efficiently
in the time we had to create the film for the project
and to get it don’t by the deadline.
4. Client Feedback #1
• The first piece of client feedback that we received was mid
way though the project when we sent a draft to Sam
Lawlor from London Connected Learning Centre was the
person who helped us shoot the segment from Titus
Andronicus.
• This helped us very much, Sam gave us a detailed list of
things that we could improve on.
• There was also many things that he agreed on and said
that he liked very much.
5. Loud Audio Corrected &
Video of Superimposition
This shot had audio that was
very loud and distorted when
he said several words, so we
edited it in several programs
including, adobe premiere pro
and after effects.
This shot of the superimposition
was edited many times to
make it both sound good and
look good, it had to be dead
center in order for it to have a
good effect.
6. Image of feedback.
• The things that are
highlighted are the things
that we agreed with in
Sam’s feedback, and
changed them in the
following lessons.
• There are many things left
un-highlighted that are still
of importance such as:
• Alternative Angles
• Alternative Shots
• Shots too long or too short
7. Client Feedback #2
• We also got feedback from Kim Morrison who was
the main person who was organising the event we
never met her but she still gave us very good
feedback from the questionnaire that she filled out
that we supplied to her.
8. Client Feedback #3
• The final piece of feedback that we received was
mainly focused on the things that could be
improved with the scene, however most of the
feedback was to do with the directorial stages
other than the actual piece for which we wanted
the feedback for.
9. General Audience
Feedback
• Many questionnaires were collected from regular
people within school and people we knew outside
of school to give their honest opinions on the scene
that we had filmed for Titus Andronicus.
10. Self-Evaluation
• I felt that both the filming and editing of Titus Andronicus
for our production went very well, there have been a
few complication with the filming because being
separated into two classes, one being the BTEC Media
class which i am involved in and the Drama Academy.
Being in two classes meant that it was hard to get our
ideas across to each other when we only had 1 hour to
tell them our ideas and see what they could come up
with their acting.
• My role within the group was the main soundman for the
first session that we filmed this meant that I was in charge
of recording all the sound for that whole session that we
recorded for. I also had to make sure that I was out of
the shot so they couldn't’t see me or the boom mic in
the shot, however I needed to be close enough to get
good quality sound.
