2. • As a team, we feel that we have also been successful in our second half of our
ancillary texts in creating our promotional magazine poster. We feel this because
after asking our target audience for feedback, a majority of people were positive
and commented to say that we had implemented the hours colours well and that
it linked well with the music video and even more so with the DVD cover. They
felt that the promotional magazine poster lures in the correct audience through
its simplicity and effectiveness. The target audience which was set to be for
teenagers to young adults and R&B fans, said they found the poster appealing
and that they would for sure buy the CD if they saw it in a shop. The only
constructive criticism received was that it is too similar to the DVD cover but
within the team, we believe it is good to have a strong relation between the two
so they are more noticeable.
They also said that our promotional magazine poster had the typical codes and
conventions that they would expect in official products such as the page number
and masthead at the bottom of the page. I feel that as a team, we did well
because we incorporated what we learnt for GCSE & AS in to our A2 work. We
included what skills we had learnt in GCSE & AS such as our knowledge of Adobe
Photoshop and Adobe Indesign to an even greater level of skill. Overall, the
team, myself and our target audience feel that our promotional magazine poster
is to a professional standard and well executed. I also feel that I have gained a
great deal of skill throughout AS & A2 media which I know will become useful in
the future.
