Program Overview
– Employees can place orders online at www.wageworks.com, or over the
phone through Customer Service, 855-774-7441.
– Employees can change or cancel elections month-to-month by the cutoff
date (10th of the month).
– Employees will receive confirmation of election via email.
– 100% compliant with IRS 132(f) rules in all cities.

Compliance Overview
IRS allowable individual pre-tax limits (2019/2020):
$270 per month for transit/vanpool
$270 per month for parking
$540 combined pre-tax maximum per month
• The IRS requires employees to pre-elect their monthly commute costs.
• Order costs above these limits will be deducted after-tax.
• Cash reimbursement of transit expenses are generally not allowed when readily
available passes (such as tickets, vouchers, debit card) is offered.
• Cash reimbursement of parking expenses are generally allowed.

• Daily reimbursement via check or direct deposit
Transit Pass Delivery
• Over 50,000 pass options
• Automatic delivery every month by the 1st of
the month to employees’ homes
• Participants order exact fare media online
Smart Card
• Stored value cards ordered one time and
electronically funded monthly
• Active programs in Washington, DC, Chicago,
San Francisco and Boston
Commuter Card
• 100% IRS compliant
• Reusable stored value card used to purchase
transit tickets and passes
• Recharged automatically on the 20th of every
month for the upcoming benefit month
Vouchers
• Vouchers are available for transit agencies that
offer them
• Automatic delivery every month

Ordering Deadlines
• Participant makes a Transit and/or Parking order
via web or Customer Service by the cut-off.
– 10th of the month prior to the benefit month or TBD
• 15th - 20th - Transit passes are mailed out.
• 20th - WageWorks Commuter Card is funded.
• 25th - 31st - passes arrive to participants home
address.
• 1st WageWorks Parking Card is funded.
• Payroll deductions are taken in the benefit month.
