was a Polish writer.
2. Maria Dąbrowska was an outstanding
Polish writer, translator and a publicist.
She painted in water-colours, too.

5. She began to write Journals in the
autumn of 1914, ended on the 8th of
May 1965, eleven days before her
death.
In 2009 the Polish Academy of
Sciences published the whole
Journals of Maria Dabrowska in 13
volumes (in earlier editions only
excerpts were published ).
6. Her work was extremely varied
but always thematically linked
to the modern history of the
people who regained
independence, the problems of
society, psychology and Polish
morality.
7. The most famous novel of Maria
Dąbrowska was "Nights and
days" , filmed by the director
Jerzy Antczak. The film was
nominated for an Oscar.
