26. Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the
strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
The strengths of product research were that it was fun and looking at different magazines and even the first was a royal
look like a model, I looked at both fashion and royal magazines this helped me to see what is popular to people who like
both fashion and royals.
The weaknesses of product research were that I couldn’t find a double page spread on the internet because I had to get a
substruction to be able to see the double page spreads
– Questionnaires
The strength of questionnaires were receiving 10 completed questionnaires and was able to get a clear view of other
peoples opinions, it was clear that everyone liked Diana and it was clear through the answers that a magazine about Diana
would be popular.
The weaknesses of questionnaires were that out of the 10 that replied 60% were male and the primary audience for my
magazine are female, and out of the 10 replies 40% were female. There was multiple choice questions this limits the
answers that people can give and you don’t really get their opinion.
– Interviews
The strengths of interviews were that you can really get an idea of other people’s opinions and it gave me more ideas of
how to create the magazine, both people who were interviewed were female and this is my primary audience.
The weaknesses of interviews were if they could be more women to interview because I only had the opinion of two
women.
27. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get? I got 10 responses from Survey Monkey
and two interviews. 60 % of Survey Monkey were male and 40% were female
and then 100% of the interviews were female.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
Everybody who answered was on my course, because they would’ve had an idea
about my course, and they would’ve had a better idea about what I was doing.
The disadvantage of this that it’s not very diverse because everybody’s about the
same age and has the same interest.
