Throughout their production process, the group utilized various new media tools and technologies. They used HD cameras, tripods, and other equipment to shoot footage. Blogger was used as a collaborative e-portfolio to plan, construct, and evaluate their work. Facebook served as the main communication method. Survey Monkey and video interviews were used to conduct audience research. Adobe Premiere was used to edit the video, adding effects like color washes, ghosting, and dissolves. Photoshop was employed to design the digipak background and magazine advert using templates, layers, cutting, and blurring tools.
3. We have demonstrated use of Web 2.0 and
other technological programmes throughout
all the stages of our project.
When Shooting we used HD Cameras
as well as a tripod, a camframe, a
track and dolly, a crab dolly and other
equipment. We are most pleased with
the movement shots is our video as
they very effective in our final piece and add interest to the video. The challenges
we overcame were Filming a huge variation of shots and making sure to use as
little still shots as possible.
4. In the evaluation we use blogger to show our
work from a multitude of different websites
such as YouTube, Prezi, slide share and survey
monkey.
We used Blogger.com as a collaborative e-
portfolio in our group throughout the planning,
construction and evaluation.
For example we used it post multiple pieces of research in
the planning stage and because it is an e-portfolio we could
show both video and photo inspiration.
In the construction stage we used blogger to show
constant progression of our work and the comment
section allowed us to share opinions in the group
5. Throughout the process of production my
group used Facebook as a main mean of
communication. It worked very well as it
allowed very quick responses and was
always easy to access.
6. To carry out audience research we
used Survey Monkey alongside
doing video interviews. Survey
Monkey was very effective because it allowed us to receive a large
number of replies from our survey giving us a large amount of information
about our target audience’s opinions. We Were then able to analyse the results
of the survey.
Shooting
interviews was also
effective as it gave
detailed responses
about the finished
work.
7. These are both examples of Web 2.0 because
Survey Monkey is a website used to design surveys
and then by use of email we asked others to fill
these out online for us and the results
automatically return to us. The videos
demonstrate use of web 2.0 because they were
filmed and then uploaded to the website YouTube
and then placed on a Prezi.
8. Youtube is an example of Web 2.0 that has made music
videos far more available to the wider public. We have
used YouTube throughout our Productions to upload
and showcase videos at different stages. We have
uploaded our; Brighton location reccie, Animatic, Rough
Cut, Final video and the interviews we took for our
evaluation.
9. We have also used Prezi throughout production, we
have use it in two of the stages of production;
Planning, and Evaluation. We used it for mood boards
and our pitch at planning stage. And I have used it for
Qs 1, 2 and 3 in my evaluation.
10. I have used slide share for Question 4
of my evaluation, this adds another
aspect of Web 2.0 to my production. It
is an effective way to share
PowerPoints over the internet.
11. Using Adobe Premiere elements 9.0 we constructed an animatic by filming
the frames of our storyboard for the amount of time that shot would be in
the film. This was useful because it meant when we went to film we knew
exactly what shots we needed.
To edit the video we used Adobe Premiere. This programme allowed us to create the fast cutting rate, we did
this by making the clips very short next to each other on the timeline. It also allowed us to use colour washes,
we used B&W and Blue Shift on the second line of action, we did this by dropping the colour washes onto the
shots we wanted and then adjusting the setting to make them look how we wanted. We were also able add
effects such as ghosting and dissolves, this was also done by dragging and dropping the wanted effects onto the
chosen clips. At the end of the video the action plays backwards we did this by making a separate video of the
narrative and then used time lapse to make the clip backwards and much faster.
12. We used digital stills camera to take a huge number of original
photos for our print work, it was challenging to create interesting a
different photos which stay in the genre.
In adobe Photoshop, we used templates and colours on different layers to create the
background we use throughout our digipak. We also used the cutting out tool to closely cut
out the characters to create the sillohette on the back pane of our digipak. On the magazine
advert we also cut out the characters and then blured the background using the Gausion Blur,
we then re foucsed the lights int the picture to emphasise them.
