HOW TO PRESENT
YOUR IDEAS
HOW TO PRESENT
YOUR IDEASAND MAKE SURE YOUR AUDIENCES GET IT
THERE ARE
350(*)PRESENTATIONS START ON EARTH EVERY SECOND
THERE ARE
350(*)PRESENTATIONS START ON EARTH EVERY SECOND
330++OF THEM ARE SUCKS
LUCKY FOR YOU
THIS ONE IS
AWESOME
MORE THAN THAT, THIS ONE WILL ALSO TELL YOU
HOW TO MAKE YOUR PRESENTATION
AWESOME
AS WELL
(PLUS A PIC OF A HOT TEACHER
IN THE ONLY NON GRAYSCALE
SLIDE FROM THE WHOLE PRESENTATION)
in short…(see, its grayscale again)
YO DAWG, I HEAR YOU
LIKE AN AWESOME PRESENTATION
SO I MAKE AN AWESOME
PRESENTATION ABOUT HOW TO MAKE
AN AWESOME PRESENTATION
HERE
WE
GO
an awesome presentation
is not just about awesome slide design
its about giving an understanding
so your main task is to make sure your audience understand what you are presenting
especially when you try
to present your idea
and you/your company life depends on it
and this is why…
You are not teaching in a classroom,
your audiences don’t have any
obligation to listen and working hard to
understand what you say
There are several things you need to
make sure you put attention to in your
presentation if you want to “sell” your
ideas
#1 THE SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUR PRESENTATION
This is the 1st thing you need to
answer to your audiences:
“Why the hell I have to sit and
listen to your presentation?”
This is the 1st thing you need to
answer to your audiences:
“Why the hell I have to sit and
listen to your presentation?”
And there are 2 ways to answer
this:
1. “I have an idea that can cut
your loss”
2. “I have an idea that can give
you more profit”
Cutting Loss
Why do people gain loss?
Because they have problem
How can you convince people you can cut
their loss?
Because you understand their problem
How people know you understand the
problem?
Because you can make them understand the problem as well as yourself
Gaining Profit
How can people gain more profit?
By converting potential market to actual revenue
Why don’t people do it then?
There are 2 reasons: they run out of potential or they have problem in
converting the available potential
So how do you help them to do it?
Depends on the problem, you can either find a way to make new potential
market for them or give some magic to convert the available potential
“If I have 1 hour to save the word, I would spend 55 minutes to understand and formulate the problem, and 5
minutes to come up with ideas/execute the solution.”
- Albert Einstein
Addressing
the problem
is essential
once you can make your audiences
UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM AND THE IMPORTANCE OF IT,
then you guys are on the same page for the rest of the movie
#2 THE AWESOMENESS OF YOUR IDEA
Your audiences feel screwed after
they understand the problem?
Great, because it’s the time for you…
To be the hero, save the day and say this:
“EVERYONE CHILL OUT,
I GOT THIS!”
AND THIS IS HOW…
“You didn't come here to make the choice,
you've already made it.
You're here to try to understand why you
made it.”
- The Oracle, Matrix Reloaded
Don’t bother the slide before this, I just want to
put a cool amusing quote from The Matrix in
this presentation even its just slightly related
In general, there are 2 ways to be the hero in
your presentation
(just like 2 ways of seeing life and time, the normal way and The Oracle
way, but nevermind)
#2a THE PATH TO SOLUTION
Be a storyteller and tell your audience
“THIS IS HOW I GET THE IDEA
TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM”
#2b THE REASON OF AWESOMENESS
Be like a magician revealing his secret
AMAZE YOUR AUDIENCE WITH YOUR AWESOME SHOW
THEN EXPLAIN TO THEM WHY IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE
#3 READINESS TO DISCUSS EVERYTHING
#4 EYECANDY
Yeah, its not in grayscale, so what? Its Emma Watson, problem?
I know, I said design is not everything,
but at least don’t make it hard for people to
resist boredom because of your lame design
Put some effort on design
Play video, do some demo, anything that can
give your audiences better experience than
just text and image
Show something outside of your slides
• Meme
• Popular movies
• Celebrities
• Soft porn
Use references your audience might know
DO ALL OF THOSE THINGS RIGHT
AND YOUR PRESENTATION WILL BE
AWESOME
Thank You
