1. What does a Production Company do?
The production company may be directly responsible for
fundraising for the production. It handles budgeting,
scheduling, scripting, the supply of resources,
organisation of staff, post-production, distribution and
marketing.
Our created company and logo
This is our production company logo. We
chose a wolf as the focus of the logo
because we thought that it stood out from
other production company logos as it was
slightly more interesting using an animal.
2. What does a distributor do?
A film distributor is a company or individual
responsible for the marketing of a film. The
distributor may set the release date of a film and
the method that the film is going to be exhibited
or made available for viewing.
3. Our chosen distributor
I think that film4 productions
would distribute our film as they
are known for supporting low
budget British films. Currently
they are showing films in the
'psychological thriller' genre,
such as the new release seven
psychopaths which is similar to
our production meaning that it
is likely that they would show an
interest in distributing under the
film4 name.
4. Funding
To fund our film, we would apply to the BFI
(British Film Institute) as they distribute lottery
money to low budget British films such as our
own. This would pay for producing the film and
marketing it.
