2. Why do artists use social media?
Social media plays a huge role within the
marketing of bands and artists. Artists continue to
use social media due to the fact it is the most
effective and efficient way of updating news on
tours, new products and the best way of
promoting their media products in the cheapest
way. Due to the proliferation of technology there
are billions of active users online meaning there is
a wide variety of audiences that can be reached
through the world of social media. It is so simple
to post things on social media and it has the
potential of being seen by millions around the
world.
3. How have you used social media?
We used social media in that we posted updates
on tour dates, the up and coming music video
along with behind the scenes images. We added
these to our website page in order for interaction
from the audience to be gained and the social bar
that we created that consisted of facebook, twitter
and instagram allowed our respective audience to
be interactive and catches their attention ensuring
they are following us on each social media sites to
keep up to date. Social media links all of our
products together due to the fact the imagery and
layout used was used across all platforms
allowing the audience to identify us as a band.
