How effective is the combination of you main tasks and ancillary tasks?
1. How effective is the combination of
you main tasks and ancillary tasks?

2. • My main product is a music video that falls
within the genre of Indie/county rock. Which
I used as a basic guideline when creating
my media product and the ancillary tasks. I
realised not only do I have to create a
product that appeals to the target audience
but I also have to create an eye catching
poster and digipak that an audience
member is likely to buy. Therefore when
creating my main task and ancillary tasks it
was very important to make sure they had
similarities that an audience member would
be able to recognise. For example, my
music video has black and white scenes in it
therefore for both ancillary tasks my house
colours are black and white. Both ancillary
tasks used a combination of silhouettes and
fonts that are unique and recognisable to
my own product. All three tasks have a 'Cs
Productions' logo, as this promotes my
production company and also provided my
products with Synergy.
3. • As my artist is not in my video I
made the decision to have his
image as the background on both
ancillary tasks. I decided to do this
because it is individual, which is a
quality of the genre. I believe that
my products compliment each
other and are highly recognisable
to my target audience.
4. • I wanted my tasks to have synergy
on more that one platform, there fore
both ancillary tasks have RSS scans
and QR codes that would take them
to a promational webside for the
artist and also a pre order websit for
my album. I decided not to enclude
social media links despite the ones
mentioned earlied because i didnt
want the products to look too
crowded with social media stamps.

5. • This is my magazine advert for my digipak. As you can see from the image I
have chosen to have rather dark house colours, this is because I really like the
idea of using silhouettes and creating them myself.
• Also the genre of my Music Video is a sub-genre of Indie music and from
research I noted that indie music is all about personality and individuality, which
is what I wanted my advert to have. While also having its own sense of
character
• The Main Cover Image is a tiled college of the musical artists face. I wanted to
use this because I thought it was a quite unique idea and would draw in an
audiences attention. I have then placed three silhouettes on to of the main
image, the first being the large tree. Second the three birds and thirdly the
couple who're holding hands.
• I chose to place the silhouettes on top of the background image because I
believe it gives my advert a sense of character and moves away from the main
conventions of other magazine advertisements.
• The text on my advert is minimal and this is because I wanted the audience to
focus mainly on the images. The main head of the advert is the artists name in
a bold font with a white outline to make it stand out that much more. The other
text is a basic 'OUT NOW' announcement and the name of the album/digipak.
There is also a small three word review type quote at the foot of the page and
an RSS scan which allowed me to incorporate social media without it being all
over the page.
• My Production company name is also in the left corner of the header of the
page, its of a low opacity as I didn't want it to stand out to much and take
attention away from the actual advertisement.
6. •This is my digipak, as you can see the colour
sceme is the same as the magazine advert in
the previous slide. I chose to keep them the
same because thats whats going to make the
two seperate products recognisable to the target
audience.
•The front cover of the digipak is the same
image from the advert. After looking as style
models I noticed this was a common theme.
most artists would used their album art as the
advert for ther album and so I desided to follow
the conventions.
•The back pannel of the pack is the the tracklist,
as the album is called home i used a silhouette
of a house which would like with the silhouettes
on the cover. I've also encluded the barcode,
RSS and QR code.
•The image behind the disk holder is a road map
of liverpool, as that is the home of the artist.
•the fourth pannel is just a full sixe image of the
artist.
