Mobile devices are at the center of how people 
communicate with their circle of friends, be it by 
phone, text, email or by accessing social 
networking sites via a mobile app/ browser. 
Therefore Social Media has become a sweet 
spot for mobiles.

• 93% of marketers are using social media. However, only 9% of marketing 
companies have full-time bloggers. 
• People spend 1 out of every 7 minutes on Facebook when online. 
• 91% of mobile internet access is for social activities 
• Instagram has already had more than 16 billion photos uploaded since its 
debut in 2010. 
• YouTube has over 1 billion unique visitors per month and reaches the coveted 
18-34 year old demographic more than any cable network. 
• The male v/s female ratio of social media users is as follows: 
- Facebook 60:40, Female : Male 
- Twitter 60:40, Female: Male 
- Pinterest 79:21, Female : Male 
- LinkedIn 55:45, Female : Male 
• If Social media was a country than, Facebook would be the world’s third most 
populous country after China and India.
