2. Introduction
 Annual campaign started by the World Heart Federation in the year 2000
It’s a day meant to inform people around the world that cardiovascular disease
is the world’s leading cause of death and to educate individuals on the
behavioural changes that they can take to prevent and control cardiovascular
disease

3. Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)
Refers to the disease of the heart, blood vessels or vascular disease of the brain
17.9 million people die each year from CVDs, an estimated 32% of all deaths
worldwide
85% of all CVD deaths are due to heart attacks and strokes
