Complaint concerning Hardware or Software failure is
filed in SAP.
Complaint is handled by maintenance department and
appropriate action is taken.
When the customer returns the goods, you post the
goods receipt in reference to the repair order. If you
specified the notification number when you created the
repair order, you can search for the repair order using
the notification number.
You perform a technical check for the received goods
and record any confirmed defects in the notification.

SAP is the largest and oldest ERP vendor in the world having its presence for over 25 years and installed base of 20000 worlds wide (in India around 200 sites) still maintains the lead. It has almost all the software solutions available under one umbrella and keeps upgrading its technology according to the latest one.
ORACLE entered in ERP arena lately but emerged speedily in the international market as well in the Indian market. Until recently they were basically strong in financial area but lately they have come up with manufacturing side also and have only few reference sites in India. It has around 8000 sited worldwide and 80 sites in India.
BAAN is also major player but loosing its ground elsewhere in the world to late entrains like JD Edwards and People soft but in India being among the first few ERP vendors has gained a bit. This software has certain limitation under Indian circumstances and has strong base in Process Industry through they claimed it to

Business transactions are processed as Logical Units of Work (LUW).
The database is managed by SAP to preserve data constancy and observe business requirements and is updated asynchronously.
