  1. 1.  ERP software, combined the data  It simplified the computer infrastructure within a large organization
  2. 2.  SAP R/3 from SAP  PeopleSoft from Oracle  Ramco e.Applications from Ramco Systems  JD Edwards World from Oracle
  3. 3.  It is pronounced as “ESS- AY-PEA” . When it comes with another word its pronounced as sap.  i.e. sap program.  Sap stands for “System Applications and products in data processing ”.  Sap is the largest “ERP ( Enterprise Resource Planning ) Software ” software solution provider.  Founded in 1972.

  6. 6.  It is actually a program named as SAPGUI.exe  Installed on user’s workstation  This is where user will submit input of SAP R/3 system for processing at business transactions.
  7. 7.  The presentation server is actually a program named sapgui.exe. It is usually installed on a user's workstation.  The interface accepts input from the user in the form of keystrokes, mouse-clicks, and function keys, and sends these requests to the application server to be processed.  The application server sends the results back to the SAPGUI
  8. 8.  An application server is a set of executables that collectively interpret the ABAP/4 programs and manage the input and output for them.  If ABAP/4 program requests information from the database, the application server will format the request and send it to the database server.
  9. 9.  The database server is a set of executables that accept database requests from the application server.  These requests are passed on to the RDBMS (Relation Database Management System).  The RDBMS sends the data back to the database server, which then passes the information back to the application server.
