My role required me to build and start a brand new utilities company that were
undertaking a contract with Morrison utilities, carrying out the BAU, FLEX and SEP
works within Norfolk.
This required myself and other team members to hire the sufficient amount of people,

Street works and permitting officer
* Overseeing permit applications from a various amount of utilities which work within this
area, ensuring compliance to the east of England permit scheme, street works act.

and co-ordination of Street Works
* Ensure all utilities’ and highway authority’s notices and registrations are logged into
the computer system, checking that notices conform to the templates in the Code of
Practice for Co-ordination of Street Works, and that the notice periods are correct for
the location and type of works
* Dealing with FPN fees charges and liaise with internal and external partners to
maximise co-ordination opportunities to minimise traffic disputations and impact on
public safety.

for a breach of NRSWA or TMA offences in accordance with the legal team and the

Jeopardy management planner
TLU contracts are a sub-contractor for BT Open Reach carrying civil engineering
ground works.
* Responsible for the timely and efficient management of street works notices ensuring
compliance to numerous legislations and traffic management acts (NRSWA). I am also
solely responsible for the east of England permits within TLU and have an extensive
knowledge of the EOE permit scheme and legislations.
* Day to day management of estimates (works) supplied to us by BT and making sure
works are complete within a time scale given.
* Updating and planning of HA (highway authorities) defects, from reviewing the defect
to arranging meetings and finally planning the works for their compliance for rectifying
these issues.
4. * Dealing with a number of highway authorities on a daily basis and also dealing with
any issues that require attention.
* Dealing with FPNs (fix penalty notices).
* Daily reports run on excel to help jeopardy manage our estimates to ensure FPNS do
not occur.
