1. Role : Collections Officer
Location : Hatfield, Herts
Salary : £18,000 to £20,000 dependant on experience, plus performance related bonus
Our Client is a leading Debt Recovery firm having seen steady and continuous growth in
recent years. This growth has lead to the expansion of the existing client base and
subsequently the excellent staff that make the company a success.
Looking to grow further they now require experienced staff to work in their collections
department.
Role
Working within the collections department, you will be contacting your account
base, via a variety of methods including the telephone, letter and email to discuss
their arrears payments and how best to manage them going forward.
Responsibility
• To be responsible for a specific portfolio of clients from the moment arrears are first
accrued, through to bringing accounts up to date, or instigating litigation.
• To proactively contact clients to discuss current arrears, including the effective use
of outbound telephone calls, letters, emails and SMS to garner contact with the
client.
• To respond to various types of incoming client contact, including telephone calls,
emails and letters, and to respond to that contact within agreed service standards.
• To negotiate specific treatments for clients, and to ensure the type of treatment
negotiated is relevant to the severity of each client’s arrears on an individual basis.
• Change of payment type / date
• To meet pre-set role objectives, including a variety of individual, team and
department performance measures.
• To help manage enquiries from existing clients who may be up to date, including
requests for settlement figures or ad-hoc statements.
• To follow documented best-practice processes throughout all work which is
undertaken, and across all arrears severity types.
Ideal Candidate will have come from Customer Service, Sales, Telesales and Account
Management backgrounds.
