Why Is Demi Lovato Sorry Not Sorry
"Revenge is a dish best served cold." Demi Lovato writes about about revenge in her song "Sorry
not sorry." Demi's music represents the pop genre, which has a lot of songs about revenge. The best
way to get over a heartbreak is revenge. Demi Lovato and other pop singers have had many
experiences with heartbreaks, and they sing about revenge. Demi Lovato is from Dallas, Texas. She
is 25 years old, her birthday is August 20, 1992. Demi got her start in acting when she was in
Barney and friends. Musically Demi got her start when she starred in Camp Rock in 2008. An
interesting fact is she was homeschooled because she was bullied in public school. "Sorry not sorry"
by Demi Lovato said "I'm feeling like a ten, the best I've ever been," which shows she can do better
without him (Sorry not Sorry) . Also she says "payback is a b**** (Sorry not Sorry)." The lyrics she
sings shows she's over him. The final lyrics she sings is "now you're out here looking like regret,"
shows how she wants to prove him wrong (Sorry not Sorry). ... Show more content on

In the song "Look what you made me do," Taylor Swift says "I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to
the phone right now," "Why?" "Oh cause she's dead (Look What You Made Me Do)!" This quote
from the song means Taylor has moved on from her heartbreaks, and is now a new person. The next
song that has revenge is "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. In the song Kelly sings about
"But since you been gone I can breathe for the first time (Since U Been Gone)." This references
"Sorry not sorry" by how she wants to show him she can move on without him. In my last song
"Two Black Cadillacs" by Carrie Underwood, it talks about revenge by saying "Two months ago his
wife called the number on his phone (Two Black Cadillacs)." "It turns out he'd been lying to both of
them for oh so long (Two Black Cadillacs)." These Lyrics connect to revenge by the guy dying at

The Solo Addison: A Short Story
The Solo Addison One day my friends and I were talking about this thing that is going on in our
choir class. So as I got into my choir class I felt a really weird shiver go up my spine. As I sat in my
sit the choir teacher said "raise your hand if you want to try out for a solo". I got so scared that I
dropped all of my stuff on the ground. "I don't know if I should do the solo what if I don't get the
part then I might get mad. Ok she's calling our side now I guess fine I'll do the solo. Then all of a
sudden she calls my name and I go up there as my heart is racing I feel a sudden gush of wind going
up my spine the wind feels like I'm out side with no coat on in winter time while and is snowing
that's how cold that wind was. Then she said all of you sing in 1, 2, 3 and go then we all sing "You
can be amazing you can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug." Then she said to me "sing" when I

When I was done the girl that sits next to me says "Why is your face so red?" I don't respond
because I feel weird and stupid for not being able to sing better than I did. I had this weird blood
tasting taste in my mouth. The taste tasted gross. Then she said why don't we all sing together out
loud. Ready set go then this is all I hear amazing blah blah blah blah nothing blah blah than I hear
everyone just scream SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY AND LET THE WORDS FALLOUT
mmmm I WANNA SEE YOU BE BEAVE! After we were done singing the song our choir teacher
said these kids need to come to me and sing in front of the class so we can hear you sing. Myah and
some other kid come up. When I was singing I like I could do it. Then she started the song we in my
opinion sounded great. When class was over I went to put my folder away and the choir teacher said
that she is most likely to pick me for the solo. Hope I get the

Tree Monologue
These apples
I planted a tree yesterday. So it could be up for me. I kept on watering it like forever. So I can taste
the sweet delicious freedom.
As I watched it be full grown. I wanted one badly. I tried for days even for months. Hopefully it will
be good.
Chorus: These apples will be good. Hopefully so great delicious. Sweet time for all of these apples.
I wanted a letter to send to her. I seem I can't find it so I can't write it on a piece of paper(CH.)
For once can we sing a love song? You said no. You have to sing other things. Like for whatever in
the world you would want to sing about (CH.)

Josh, what words could explain this dude? Based on his attitude. I find him quite rude. Always
giving me a bad mood. I'll be with you forever
Today is your birthday. And you're a day older. I don't think that you're getting old. Maybe you are
getting younger, but it feels that you are. So don't tell yourself that you're not. I know that you are.
Chorus: Cause I'll be with you forever. I am never gonna loose you. No matter what people say. You
are beautiful in a way I can't describe it. I'll be with you forever. I'll stay with you. Until the time
comes. I don't want that to happen at all. I love you and you love me. We can be always together.
Yes, be together (CH.) So now so many down the years. We have been together. There is a spot that
is just for you and me. Noone else it's just for us. This is the part that I can't tell you. There is
something inside of me. That won't let me speak it free, yeah. Inside my heart I want to, but I know I
can't. It's telling me I can't cause if I do. I will be sorry (CH.)

Who Is The Best Choice?
Over the years of my life, I have come up with many different philosophies from famous quotes,
observation, and even learn or heard from people. I mix and match many of them together to suit
what I believe is the best choice. Now the follow philosophies I have are only a portion of what I
have because it could be either I forgot, change, or still work in progress. Since I have a good
handful of different philosophies, I'll try to give each one a fair overview of what and why. First
philosophy I follow in life is to not force my ideas, views, philosophy to other. The reason begin is
that everyone (who is capable) has a choice. They can decide if they want to or not. I would rather
suggest the idea and allow them to see if they want to or not. Even though this sounds a bit morbid
but I think we must hurt in order to grow, fail in order to know, & lose in order to gain. Because
some lessons in life, are best learned through pain. If we went through life with some sort of pain,
we learn nothing and don't process to better ourselves. For a relationship, just because you love
someone, doesn't mean you can stick around & screw up their life. Nothing is worse than being in a
relationship and being the reason why their life is all out of focus because you are to scare to let go.
Even though, you love them, you should do the right thing and let them go for their benefit. There's
also room to act like a child sometimes. Just taking life as it is and enjoys it without the adult

Warren Wiersbe's 'Song To A New Song'
SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG
"Worship is the believer's response of all that they are – mind, emotions, will, body – to what God is
and says and does." Warren Wiersbe
I love new music. I really, really do. As I sit here and type that phrase out it resounds even more,
like a pounding drum building to a glorious crescendo. I love new music. In fact, to put it more
succinctly, I love new worship music. I spend hours each week pouring through the new songs that
are arising out of different faith families all over the world. The new melodies woven with new
lyrics, telling new stories of all that God is doing, touches me deeply, to the very core of who I am.
It's no wonder that God commands us to do it. Numerous places throughout scripture, from Psalms
to Isaiah to Revelation, God commands his people to sing a new song to Him. One of those places
where we see this command is in Psalm 96. The psalmist writes in verse 1 of that Psalm – "Sing to
the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth." It was never God's intention for us to sing just
one song or a collection of songs from a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This reality is the truth that we should also be singing a new song. The command given by God in
Psalm 96 and in other places, has no statute of limitations. It didn't expire the moment we crossed
over into the year 100 A.D. This command is for us today and to those who will come after us.
The reason why there should always be new songs is because God is continually doing a new thing.
He is continually reaching into the hearts of people and creating a new work within them. God is
immutable and will never stop being God. One of the reasons why we are charged to sing a new
song is because God is still alive and moving and there are many more stories to tell. And it is
through those new songs that many will see and fear and put their trust in the

An Explanation Of Woody G's Song
"This land is made for you and me." That famous song was brought into the world by folk singer
Woody Guthrie on day in 1944. He is famous also for being poor when he was young and having
both parents leave him at 14 with no money or home. He became a hobo traveling town to town and
that's when he picked up his first guitar. He taught himself to play and eventually was a songwriter
inspiring people everywhere. He has also voiced a famous quote that says "I hate a song that makes
you think you are not any good. I hate a song that makes you think that you are just born to lose.
Bound to lose. No good to nobody. No good for nothing. Because you are too old or too young or
too fat or too slim. Too ugly or too this or too that. I'm out to fight those songs to my very last breath
of air and my last drop of blood. I am out to sing songs that will prove to you that this is your world
and that if it has hit you pretty hard and knocked you for a dozen loops, no matter what color, what
size you are, how you are built, I am out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one both were said or sung by Woody G. Another similarity is that on both you get the
impression that he will never quit. He will pursue he dreams until he dies. Lastly in both he also is
addressing everyone not just one person. The quote is owned by the Guthrie family. That means you
must pay them if you sing the song. The quote is not owned. If someone wants to sing it they have
to pay the Guthrie family. Also that one is a quote which is said but the song is a song and it is sung
not said. Lastly in the quote it is from the heart not carefully planned out very carefully like the
song. In conclusion Woody Guthrie was a very inspirational folk singer to people all around. As he
once said, "A folk singer's jobs is to make the disturbed people feel comfortable and the comfortable
people feel disturbed." We hope that his legacy lives on and people always have him in their hearts
like he had them in

Glee Is a Hoax
You're walking through SIUE halls in peck hall, and then someone just jumps out singing and
dancing on this joyous occasion. Does something like that really happen? No! There is a lot of hard
work that goes into something like that, and glee portrays it all wrong. All the hard work that goes
into it like: cleaning the choreography, learning the voice parts, and the many hours of practice. In a
recent article by spark notes, in reality 90% of choir kids are theater geeks and really want to help
train their voices, while in glee it seems like they just sing then go to the Gym. Show choir is so
much more than just busting out in song; it's about making friendship doing something you really
love to do and to make a lasting impression on someone's life. If we continue to let glee gives us the
idea of what show choir is, then the real show choir world will fall into a myth.
Show choir is a lifestyle to most it as we call it a way of living. Some people find it very offensive
when they ask "do you want to join show choir", and then they get a response like. NO I hate glee.
My first question is what does glee have to do with it? Do people even know what show choir really
is? Glee has made millions of dollars trying to portray their way of thinking about show choir. Do
you ever see the parents that put in the hard work of costumes, stitching dresses that have fallen
apart, making sure everyone costumes are fit, and they work hard at bingo most of the time to pay
for it. On

Friday Choirs
Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th & 8th Grade Chapel Choir Members,
I am writing to inform you about recent changes to the Friday only Chapel Choir class structure.
In an effort to make students more successful, comfortable, and enjoying their class, the format was
altered from a typical "choir rehearsal" to something more akin to Music Appreciation/ General &
Vocal Music. So far, the results have been positive. Students now do not sing every class period, but
are experiencing and learning about many different aspects and styles of music. They are graded on
classwork (work completion, effort, & participation), formative assessments (classwork graded for
accuracy), and summative assessments (projects lasting longer than one class period). Friday choirs
will no longer perform in chapels. I apologize if this is something you had looked forward to.
However, I have offered any student who wants to sing, the opportunity to sing in chapel as a small
group. This is something that students would work on as an alternative to one of our class activities.
So far, 3 students have come forward asking to sing.
Please read below to learn more about why we switched. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The choir only meets on Fridays due to tremendous scheduling difficulties at GRCMS. After one
year of this Friday choir, it became apparent that typical concert performances would not suit the
choir. This fall (2016) it was converted into Chapel Choir. The "chapel performances only" aspect
was an effort to structure the choir more like a church choir. This format fit well with the goal of
creating lifelong musicians, as church choirs might be the only choir many students experience into
adulthood. This fall, I also gave students weekly homework in an effort to make students more
comfortable when it came time to

Maya Angelou
In I Know why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou we see self–belief and overcoming adversity
when Maya Angelou is talking about the caged bird being trapped in the cage with her wings
clipped and her feet tied and the caged bird still tries to open his throat to sing, this can be
referenced to the black people when Maya Angelou was growing up and the free bird could be
referenced as the white people in this story because the free bird could do anything and fly free in
the air as much as they want, but the caged bird is trapped in the caged with nothing they can do.
This could all reference to the time when Maya Angelou was growing up because when she was
growing up there was a lot of racism around the American people and also gender inequality. ...

An example of a language feature used in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is "the caged bird
sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant
hill for the caged bird sings for freedom." Maya Angelou is using Emotive Language in this part of
the Poem to really show that the caged bird is trapped and trying really hard to call out for someone.
The emotive language really help show the struggle that the bird is going through, this could
reference to the struggle Maya Angelou went through growing up because she was really hard for
her to grow up because she was a Black woman growing up in America and Black woman were
looked down upon by other people like the white people (free bird), and it was a real big struggle for
her but she didn't let it pull her down, she kept her head up and tried really hard and overcame all
odds and became very successful. This is important because Maya Angelou is trying to tell the
reader of this poem that even though the caged bird is trapped in the caged with her wings clipped
and legs tied if you have enough self–belief, you will sooner or later overcome it and be free with
the free bird. A poem I can compare this poem to A Brave and Startling Truth because both of these
poems have the same main idea which is self belief and overcoming

The Breakdown In Patsy Cline's Got You
How is the breakup portrayed? The breakup in Patsy Cline's She's Got You is portrayed as not
wanting to let go but having to because the other person has moved on. Patsy sings about still have
some of the exes physical objects like a picture, records they shared, a class ring, and most
importantly memories that they both shared. She realizes that they are no longer in a relationship but
it seems hard for her to move on. She has objects that remind her of her relationship but she doesn't
have the actual relationship anymore. It's hard for her to let go even though she knows that there is a

In She's Got You the communication doesn't really change throughout the song. Patsy sings about
her memories, how she doesn't have her ex anymore, and how the new person has him now. All she
has left of him are the physical objects that he left behind and she communicates through those
objects. That's pretty much the main point of communication throughout the song. There is no
improvement when it comes to communication and everything basically stays the same. In 50 Ways
to Leave Your Lover the communication does change. In the beginning of the song Paul sings about
how his lover is telling him ways to leave her. He wants to leave her but doesn't seem to know how.
She communicates her ideas with him on how to leave her but in the end her communication
changes. The support that she showed isn't exactly there anymore and in the end she says they
should both sleep on it and hopefully that he will see light in the morning. She communicated
through ideas and seemingly showed support in the beginning but by the end her communication
doesn't show that much support. What gender differences were apparent in the approach to the

Songs In To Kill A Mockingbird
Songs are expressed through the soul. Mockingbirds are used in Harper Lee's classic novel To Kill a
Mockingbird as a symbol of innocence and joy. In the novel it describes mockingbirds as singing,
innocent birds that should not be killed because of the joy they bring and it's considered a sin to kill
a mockingbird. They sing as an expression or communication just as each of the characters do in the
novel. The characters may not sing out loud but, they do have a song of their own. Characters that
come to mind are Atticus Finch, Jem Finch, and Boo Radley. In a sense Atticus Finch is like a father
figure. He sets an example for many of the people in the town and many of them depend on him for
help. But, Atticus also has the role of being the lawyer of the town. ... Show more content on

F-A-C-Electronic Music Research Paper
Teaching a children's choir requires a careful selection of music and educating the kids about music
notation. Kids need to have a basic understanding of note values and pitches and how to interpret
them into musical sounds. By teaching them how to read music first, future choir rehearsals will be
more productive. Many children's choir instructors will incorrectly assume that it takes too long to
teach a child how to read music. The reality is that by teaching these basics first it will allow the
choir to sing much more effectively in the future.
Step 1: Begin by teaching the children how to read rhythm aurally. Teach them only the most basic
rhythms: whole notes, half notes and quarter notes. Start a metronome and have them clap on each

half notes once they understand the quarter note, and finally, use whole notes. Make sure to teach
them about rests as well.
Step 3: Start teaching the children about pitch notation after the first week. Since they are children,
all of them will sing in the treble clef. Have them remember the spaces on the staff by using the
following trick: "If you look between the lines, you see your FACE." Explain that the spaces spell
the word F – A – C – E.
Step 4: Teach the names of the lines of the treble clef by using an acronym. A good acronym to use
is "Every Good Boy Does Fine." The first letter of each word is the name of a line.
Step 5: Explain that the correct way to breathe is through the diaphragm and that the children should
never force a note that is too high. If a child is having trouble singing a part, give them a higher or
lower part to sing.
Step 6: Perform musical scales with them. Start with major scales. Pass out sheet music that lists the
scales and have the children sing each pitch on a whole note. Practice the major scale until they can
sing it without the use of a

What Does Jem Symbolize In To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a unique novel with even more unique characters. Each one
bringing happiness and beauty to life in their own way. Similarly, mockingbirds are creatures who
do nothing but bring joy into the lives of the people around them by singing breathtaking tunes. One
would wonder why anybody would ever want to hurt something that brings no harm to anyone in
any way. Likewise, often humans are ridiculed for simply being themselves. Three characters that
could be symbolized by a mockingbird as they sing their own exclusive songs are, Scout Finch,
Atticus Finch, and Boo Radley. and foremost, Scout Finch is a wild, curious, and independent young

example of how soft–hearted Boo really is. If Boo were to have a song to sing it would be "Waving

Reflection About Ministry
I have learned that ministry goes beyond just preaching God's word. According to Earley and
Gutierrez (2016) real ministry is doing your part. Ministry is also glorifying God in ministry based
on the gifts or talents that he has blessed you with and uplifting his name and making others aware
of the goodness of God through that gift or talent. My ministry is music. I have been singing since I
was a little girl and I now know that this is my calling from God. Being able to minister to people
and encourage them in the Lord through song has become a passion for me. I have found throughout
my life that gospel music has always made me feel encouraged throughout the trials in my life. So,
being able to actually give someone that encouragement and let them know that no matter what God
is there through it all blesses my soul and theirs. "There has never been a more demanding season of
ministry than we are experiencing today" (Gutierrez, 2014, p. 13). This statement is so true and I
know being able to minister to people through music is a very important ministry. "Sing to the Lord
a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless his name; Proclaim good tidings
of his salvation from day to day (Psalm 96:1–2). I prepare for my ministry every day. I practice
learning and singing new songs daily. My daughter also sings and we practice together as well. I

Argumentative Essay On Social Media
When people think of social media they probably think of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. All of
these websites allow you to post, comment, and like things other people say. It's a great concept and
all of these types of social media are very popular. I have an account or two on all of these websites,
but after a while started to notice something. It started going from nice posts and pictures of my
friends to videos and pictures of people I didn't know all with very negative comment sections. This
made the whole experience of seeing what my friends were doing a stressful time. After that
occurred four years ago I decided to seek out an alternative form of social media that would have a
more positive feeling to it. I needed to prove to myself that not all social media was a bad place or
just a waste of time. My search started in the Apple app store since I had just received a new iPad
for my birthday. I looked for a while, but my search had failed and actually started to feel
impossible. I had lost all hope that this perfect app existed until a few weeks later when I was
talking to one of my friends. She knew that I enjoyed singing so she told me about this new app she
found called Smule Sing and said I should make an account. We went to my house and downloaded
this app on my iPad and sang a song together. It was really fun, but I didn't understand what the app
was yet. Later after she left I sang a few more songs and people started to like and comment on them

Everyone has personal struggles throughout their lifetime. Some of the struggles we have are major
ones and others are only a minor thing. One of the biggest struggles I have dealt with is singing. I
have always loved to sing. Whenever a song comes on the radio I belt out the lyrics like there is no
tomorrow. My problem with singing is not being able to sing in front of people. I attend a church
camp every summer. At this camp there is an All State Worship(ASW) choir that sings every year. I
have always dreamed of becoming part of the choir but since I was scared to sing in front of people
that would be a problem. You can audition for ASW at age twelve. The audition process is singing in
front of about seven judges while being videoed. After you audition you wait to receive an e–mail
telling you if you made it into the choir or not. Every year I would tell myself that I was going to try

Langston Hughes I Hear America Singing
There are many different connections you can make when thinking of what the authors
representation was when refering things to "singing." The connection that's the boldest to me is that
"singing" or "too sing" represent them being the American or having a certain title in America. In
the poem I Hear America Singing is that they are proud and stand out for being American's and
having what they have. As the poem says "the shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench" would
show he is proud to be a brave and proud American. The singing would speak for the ownership and
defiance to be an American citizen. The poem I, Too, Sing America displays a sense of identification
to the American life. Langston Hughes give impression that so many things can

Chorus Concert I Reflection Paper
On that blistering day, the high school students giggled as they lay stretched–out–near the walls.
Some of them were aggressively touching one another.
I entered through the double–doors, and I signed–in while school security officers' wand–down
students. Then I located the main office, and I accepted my assignment papers titled: Chorus
Concert I, (Period 6).
The substitute teachers' coordinator told me that I was assigned to two chorus classes.
My instructions were to sit in the classroom and listen to them sing. I felt enthralled by the
assignment. I thought, "Fantastic!"
All day long, I looked forward to going to Period 6; the symphony class. I could not wait to be
amused by the melodies of talented young chorus singers.
The moment arrived, and I stepped into that rumbustious and loud classroom. Then I scanned the
architectural design of the room. The classroom resembled a mid–size basketball gym. The concrete
blocked walls were painted white. The hard wood floors complimented two black pianos scattered in
opposite locations in the vicinity.
My evaluation of the room's facility was interrupted by a BLASTING surprise. For example, there
were 40 energetic students amid one substitute teacher: me. A few, but not all, of the students'
hormones, ran faster than a New York City freight train.
After I glanced at what was happening, I said, "Goodness gracious!" "Where is the choir?!" I asked
loudly. "Why aren't you singing?" "Come on, vocalize, "Sing students, sing!" I implored them.
They looked at me with amazement. Assuredly, I felt victimized by a fresh practical joke.
Despite what I felt, I still kept waiting to hear someone strike up a musical note.
Seconds later, I heard, "Oh." "Uh, um..." "We don't sing," one of the students jocularly replied.
With raised eyebrows, I said, "Huh?" "What do you mean, you don't sing?" "Isn't this a chorus
class?" "Chorus means to sing, right?" I asked with a tone of frustration. Since nobody struck up a
tune, my next instinct was to get the class organized. I stopped trying to identify the songbirds, and I
walked around the classroom telling students to complete their written activity.

Informative Essay On Solo Vocal
"Hey everyone, I have a new unit to introduce!"
Ms. Adelmann, the choir teacher at Eagle Swift Middle School, was introducing the new unit in the
choir. Lexi was waiting anxiously to see what they were doing in her hard rough chair. Ms.
Adelmann continues, "We are starting a new program called Solo Vocal. You will be learning two
solos, one different language song, and one English song, then out of those two, you will be
choosing one of them to sing to the class. If you want to, you can sing the solo also at our night Solo
Vocal Festival. If you participate in the Solo Vocal festival, you might get a chance at a solo at our
May and March festival. For our different language song, we will be learning a song in German this
year."
Lexi became so excited and happy, but of course, she kept it to herself since she didn't want to make
a fool of herself. She thought, "Wow! I could show my singing talent off to everyone! Of course, I

Lexi was very nervous but she was a little bit better about her performance. She knew that she
would do somewhat well. In Choir, they had run through the whole Solo Vocal Festival and then
done the usual. Later that night, it was the solo vocal festival time. The place was in the cleaned up
cafeteria, with the cafeteria benches shaped into seats for the audience so they didn't stand. They had
started the solo vocal festival already. While she was waiting for her turn, she was getting tense. Her
palms were getting sweaty, she was freaking out internally. Then, after a while, it was her turn to
sing. She walked up to the stage, said her introduction, and started singing. She was the greatest
person up in Solo Vocal Festival. She did everything right and everyone complimented her on her
solo. Then Lexi thought, "You know what? It wasn't that horrible. I did a decent job on my solo and
no one hated it. I obviously shouldn't of worried about my

Treat You Better Rhetorical Analysis
Shawn Mendes' "Treat You Better" encourages teen girls to leave harmful relationships with
aggressive visuals and compassionate lyrics. Shawn Mendes' song "Treat You Better" inspires the
target audience by the use of shocking visuals. Firstly, the music video connects with teen girls
because it plays with the audiences' emotions through abuse and violence. In one image, the boy
aggressively talks and pushes the main girl around. The same boy punches another teen while his
girlfriend stands by helpless. Lastly, the audience sees the girl in an unsafe situation while in a car
with the main boy. The harmful situations expose these relationships with the violent visuals. This
violence and abuse encourage teenage girls to get out of relationships ... Show more content on

First, the music video connects with teen girls by using lyrics that question staying in these harmful
relationships. Shawn Mendes sings, "And you're spending all your time in this wrong situation", to
motivate teen girls not to waste their time in those harmful relationships. These motivating lyrics
help to encourage teenage girls to remove themselves from these relationships. When Shawn
Mendes sings about how she should not waste her time in the wrong relationship, it encourages teen
girls to get out of those bad relationships. Second, the music video relates to teen girls by using
touching lyrics so that teenage girls realize the harmful relationships, they are in. Shawn Mendes
sings the words, "But I can see it on your face when you say that he's the one that you want", as
encouragement for teen girls to do what they want and leave a relationship if they feel unsafe or do
not want to be part of it. Again, these compassionate lyrics inspire teen girls to disconnect harmful
relationships, because that is what they should want. When Shawn Mendes sings about how it is
obvious that the girl feels unhappy in the situation, it relates to other teen girl's emotions and
interests them to leave those situations. Through the use of concerning lyrics, of questioning and
emotion the music video encourages teenage girls to leave their harmful relationships. Shawn

Advantages Of Superior Singing Method
Think you can't sing? Believe it or not, this is one of the most common misconceptions we have
about ourselves. While it's correct that some people have been blessed with the golden voice, the
simple truth is that anyone can learn to sing better than they do now. When it comes down to it,
using your voice is just like using any other instrument. For example, have you ever tried playing a
violin without any violin lessons beforehand? The resulting screeching sound would probably have
you think you're not cut out for playing the violin, but the truth is that you just don't have the
necessary skills yet. Singing is just like that – you need to put in the hours in order to get better.
That said, learning to sing properly is not something that can be picked up easily. If you're not taking
the correct singing lessons, you'll probably just end up straining your vocal chords with little to no
benefits to show for it. That's why I wanted to talk you through an interesting singing method that
should help you improve your singing ability in a reasonable period of time. It's called the Superior
Singing Method, and it's tremendously effective at what it sets out to do.
How Does It Work?

Why Choir Should Be Allowed In Schools
There are a lot of fun and creative clubs and classes in our school. I think that classes of arts people
enjoy the most. Because you don't have to worry about a lot of work. Specifically choir. Choir can
be a stress relief for a lot of people, and it's just something I know a lot of people enjoy. One reason
I think choir is a class people enjoy is you don't have to work, or do hard work. People who are in
choir are there to know how to sing better, learn notes, and have fun doing performances. Tons of
people love singing especially going to choir after a hard class, and you can have a break from any
hard work stressing you out. The second reason I think choir is a class most people enjoy is there are
a lot of great singers in the world

Happy Xmas Carol Literary Devices
Christmas Carol Literary Analysis: Happy Xmas (War Is Over)
What if you passed Christmas during the Vietnam War? In the song Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by
John Lennon and Yoko Ono this is the case. In the song John Lennon and Yoko Ono do a fantastic
job using literary devices to make the songs message stand out more. Now, what is the message?
The theme might be a song that disagrees or protests the Vietnam War. The three literary devices
that make this theme stand out more in the song are; rhythm and rhyme, repetition, and irony. All of
those literary devices have a big part on the song.
Rhythm and rhyme is seen all throughout the song. It also plays a big part in the song. The literary
device of rhythm and rhyme compare things in some parts of the song. In stanza 1, line 2 and 4 you
can see the lines "And what have you done", "And a new one just begun". The two rhyming words
are done and begun. Since the song is about stopping wars, maybe Yoko and John are trying to
convey a message of, "We have to get done with the wars we begun". Another example of rhythm
and rhyme is in stanza 3, lines 2 and 4. "For weak and for strong", "The world is so wrong". The two
words strong and wrong are very powerful words with the possibility of trying to say "We need to be
strong to stop with what is wrong or the wars". Adding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Irony impacts the song in many ways but one of the ones that the listener might notice is that it gets
a reaction. In stanza 1, line 6 they sing "I hope you have fun". In a song about preventing war, the "I
hope you have fun" plays a big part. It's like a wakeup call, "I hope you have fun on Christmas with
WAR going on". Another example of irony is on stanza 2, line 2 "And a happy New Year". Basically
once again a wakeup call, "Have another good year with war going on." The last example is on
stanza 8, line 1, they sing "Happy Xmas". People want to have a good Christmas but with war going
on they need to think about that

Singing While Playing An Instrument
Singing while playing an instrument is no easy feat and some of the most talented players can start
making mistakes when singing is involved. You might have spent your playing career looking at
your instrument and taking your eye of the instrument can result in missed notes or stumbling
words.
But adding singing to your playing can be extremely useful skill to master. It can add more depth to
your band's performance, make socialising with friends a bit more fun and improve your playing. So
how can you do it?
Become One With Your Instrument
It might sound obvious, but unless you are comfortable with the instrument you play, you are
complicating things by starting to sing. If getting through a song on your guitar is difficult enough
without singing, you are probably better off taking a few online lessons to improve your skillset
before starting to sing.
Being comfortable playing the guitar doesn't necessarily mean you need to be a master of your
instrument. You just need to be aware of the most essential skills, like being able to play the chords
of your chosen song without thinking too much.
Indeed, singing while playing a musical instruments like the piano or the guitar can be useful when
you are practicing notes, chords and the like, but you should definitely learn the basics of both
separately before you take it all a step further.
Don't Be Too Ambitious

Analysis Of The Song 'Sing'
"Sing" is one of many songs that have had an impact on my life and one that stands out for me
among them. The message of the song is easily recognized, it tells us to be brave and stand up for
what we believe in. The lyrics of this song reminds us that we have control over our fates and
destinies. It gave me the courage to remember who I am and to be unapologetic for it. I am
reminded while hearing this song that there is nothing wrong with who I am and I should get to be
as loud as I want. "Sing" reminds us that we each have the power to save the world through our
individual voices. "Sing" is a song by popular rock band "My Chemical Romance" that was released
in 2010 as a part of their album "Danger Days: The True Lives of The Fabulous Killjoys."

during cross country we sprint up pretty big hills and if I sing that in my head it makes me go faster.
Also if i'm running in a race (which is a 5k) and I want to slow down or start walking I sing this to
myself and it helps me out. In the end this song helps me get through the hardest but funnest part of
the day.

This means that Lawson Bates won't be singing the typical country music. You are used to hearing

The plot center around Jamie, a 25–year–old, American male who moves to Paris where he meets a

the man chasing him catches up to him and punches him in the back of the head. Jamie lies

Sympathy And The Caged Bird Comparison Essay
Poems can be the same ,but could have slight differences that change perspective ad the way you
feel about the poem. In the poems "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou and "Sympathy" by Paul
Laurence Dunbar are two poems about a bird trapped in a cage but each is told differently with a
different perspective. These two story also are very like in a way that you feel the same way or can
relate to both of these stories in the same way. These poems leave a message in your head , but one
is more meaningful compared to the other. One tells of someone realizing why the caged bird fights
to be freed while the other tells the story of a caged bird as a narrator. I believe the most meaningful
poem is Sympathy because I feel there is more emotion in this poem like in the first line is say"".
This shows that no matter what this bird will fight to be free no matter how strong the bars are he
must try and try to become free. No matter how big his scars and cuts re he still fights to be free and

Langston Hughes I Hear America Singing
There are many poems that talk about America. For example, Langston Hughes' poem I Too and
Walt Whitmans poem I Hear America Singing are very good poems that talk about America. I Too
talks about how racism will once be solved and how his family treats him because he is the darker
brother. I Hear America Singing is about the voices of America and how each American citizen
sounds when they sing. There are three reasons why Hughes poem builds on Whitmans poem. The
first reason is because Hughes is an American citizen and is saying that he to sings America. For
example, in his poem, he starts off the poem by saying he too sings America. This shows that he is
also one of those people that Whitman is talking about in his poem I Hear America Singing.

My Singing Journey
A friend from my childhood once told me "dream on, and sing louder". This friend pushed this
saying deep into my heart until it made it seem as if it kept my heart beating. I never really began to
understand what she meant when she repeated this saying to me until she explained it. She said to
me that to dream on is to not give up, and to sing louder is to not let anyone take my voice away
from me. Singing has always been a huge part in my life from singing in talent shows to singing in
the shower. My mother said that I never stopped singing. The journey of my singing began with my
first School of Rock program and is now being pursued on my churches worship team today. Before
I start to tell you about my singing journey, I feel as if I should explain why I started to sing in the
first place. It all began when I was four years old, my older sister Kassidy would always, and I mean
always, be listening to music in her room and singing. As we grew up she learned how to play the
guitar and how to write songs. She inspired me to sing and I couldn't thank her enough for it. When
my sister was 12 years old she started to get involved in this program named School of Rock. When
she would sing on that stage I constantly wished that I was her. I could not wait until I was in the 7th
grade so that I could be a part of it as well.
The day eventually came and I was terrified. School of Rock is a program in which you get placed

Still I Rise
The battle of self–love vs. finding one's true purpose in life

The purpose of this essay is to examine the theme of immense self–love versus finding one's true
purpose in life and accepting who one was meant to be despite all obstacles. In Maya Angelou's
"Still I Rise" and "I know why the caged bird sings" the reader can debate the two through the use of
emotion and metaphor choice. In "Still I rise" the reader can observe similarities in Angelou's words
to describe self–acceptance and self–satisfaction. In "I know why the caged bird sings" readers can

against her were expecting to see her low and doing poorly as the bird in "I know why the caged

was initially knocked down. What Angelou wants the reader to take from this stanza is that although

Ugly Love–Griffin Peterson–This song relates to the book because not only do they both have the
same title, but it explains the predicament that Tate and Miles are in. In the song Griffin sings, "You

That's when he created the rule "Don't ask about the past, never expect a future" Also in the song the
artist sings, "I've been waiting for you to come and pull me back down, all the weight of the truth is

Theme Of R & B Song 'Location'
Location by Khalid is a R&B song about young love. Khalid sings about how this thing is new to
him and how he naive he is. He goes on singing in his song about how he feels that he's been used
and played with. But he still wants to make things work with this person. Overall Location is a song
about young love and how you'll travel across the world to find something like it.
The theme of young love in Location is revealed through multiple literary devices. To start off in the
first verse it says "At times I wonder why I fool with you/ But this is new to me this is new to you"
this is an example of symbolism saying that they are both young and haven't really done this sort of
thing, it also states that she's toying or "fooling" with him. Secondly

Analysis of the Movie Harold and Maude- A Cult Classic Essay
Harold and Maude is a cult classic from the 1970's that defined film making today. The movie based
around a young man named Harold Chasen, and an old woman Maude. Harold seems to have a
bizarre psychological fascination with death. While Maude is also interested in death; she enjoys
living as well and has lived her life to the fullest. Both are brought together while attending funerals
simply because they enjoy them. Maude begins to influence and change Harold's perceptions and
attitudes about life. Harold and Maude are polar opposite, in age, but the time they spend together
will help Harold live his life better and more fulfillingly.

LIVE!" Maude shares many of these ideas and beliefs with Harold, teaching him to dance, play the
banjo, and just enjoy being alive, not dead.
Harold was unaware that when he met Maude, she had planed all along to end her life at the age of
eighty. She says several times throughout the movie, "Did you know I'll be eighty on Saturday". Her
decision to commit suicide shows that Maude feels she has done her part in helping Harold be a
happier person and has succeeded in teaching him how to love and enjoy life, which are qualities he
did not possess prior to their meeting. She makes him understand this when, after he tells her he
loves her, she says, "Go and love some more." After Maude's death, Harold drives his car over a cliff
in another attempt to make people believe he is dead again. Harold walks away playing his banjo
and dancing, things that Maude had taught him. By driving his car over the cliff to make people
think he is dead again makes Harold happy since he enjoys being dead, but the banjo and Harold's
dancing are symbols of the effects of his relationship with Maude. These signify that Harold has
grown due to his relationship with Maude and will use the advice that Maude has given him in order
to live a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.
Because this film is so influenced by it's time, it seems appropriate that the director used the music
of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens music defined a generation, and Harold and Maude are no exception.

they find out what he did so he runs away but after that he tells them and he feels better. Lastly, In
High School Musical Troy feels like society won't accept him if he sings. He is also peer pressured

they make us feel for the characters. Overall, these characters overcame many things in the stories

Jay-Z's Song 'Empire State Of Mind'
The New Life Bright lights, loud cars and people, tall buildings, and the many streets make up what
is called New York. From "out that Brooklyn" now "in Tribeca," Jay – Z and Alicia Keys sing about
beginning a new life in New York. A life where you can make your biggest dreams come to life. Jay
– Z sings about what his life is like in New York. The song "Empire State of Mind", Jay – Z and
Alicia Keys sing of looking at New York as rebuilding, or building, on your life like the tall
buildings of New York. Alicia Keys is confident in that the "concrete jungle where dreams are made
of," and that the bright "lights will inspire you" in New York. As Jay – Z sings about the new life
that he live in New York in the first verse. Jay – Z sings about coming from Brooklyn and now in
Tribeca. In Brooklyn, Jay – Z sings about being "hood forever". I think line 2 says that he is from
the hood and never forgets about what he went through. In line 3, ", is referring to ... Show more

This is also refers to this 16 year old boy, Special Ed, sang the song "I Got It Made". The "city is a
pity, half of y'all won't make it," because it is hard to get yourself out of where Jay – Z started off at.
Jay – Z then sings in the next line, line 36, of the Labor Day Parade and praising Bob Marley for
resting in peace. As the Labor Day Parade takes place, the smell of cannabis fills the street of Crown
Heights, Brooklyn. The "Statue of Liberty, long live the World Trade," are both significant symbols
of what someone would describe as New York. When Jay – Z sings about the Statue of Liberty, it
brings the feeling of freedom and what we have in America. "Long live the World Trade," speaks
about the history of New York and the sad event that has happened to many of the loved ones on
September 11, 2001. "Long live the king," Jay – Z refers to the Notorious B.I.G. who unfortunately

Why Is Demi Lovato Sorry Not Sorry

  • 1. Why Is Demi Lovato Sorry Not Sorry "Revenge is a dish best served cold." Demi Lovato writes about about revenge in her song "Sorry not sorry." Demi's music represents the pop genre, which has a lot of songs about revenge. The best way to get over a heartbreak is revenge. Demi Lovato and other pop singers have had many experiences with heartbreaks, and they sing about revenge. Demi Lovato is from Dallas, Texas. She is 25 years old, her birthday is August 20, 1992. Demi got her start in acting when she was in Barney and friends. Musically Demi got her start when she starred in Camp Rock in 2008. An interesting fact is she was homeschooled because she was bullied in public school. "Sorry not sorry" by Demi Lovato said "I'm feeling like a ten, the best I've ever been," which shows she can do better without him (Sorry not Sorry) . Also she says "payback is a b**** (Sorry not Sorry)." The lyrics she sings shows she's over him. The final lyrics she sings is "now you're out here looking like regret," shows how she wants to prove him wrong (Sorry not Sorry). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the song "Look what you made me do," Taylor Swift says "I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now," "Why?" "Oh cause she's dead (Look What You Made Me Do)!" This quote from the song means Taylor has moved on from her heartbreaks, and is now a new person. The next song that has revenge is "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson. In the song Kelly sings about "But since you been gone I can breathe for the first time (Since U Been Gone)." This references "Sorry not sorry" by how she wants to show him she can move on without him. In my last song "Two Black Cadillacs" by Carrie Underwood, it talks about revenge by saying "Two months ago his wife called the number on his phone (Two Black Cadillacs)." "It turns out he'd been lying to both of them for oh so long (Two Black Cadillacs)." These Lyrics connect to revenge by the guy dying at the end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Solo Addison: A Short Story The Solo Addison One day my friends and I were talking about this thing that is going on in our choir class. So as I got into my choir class I felt a really weird shiver go up my spine. As I sat in my sit the choir teacher said "raise your hand if you want to try out for a solo". I got so scared that I dropped all of my stuff on the ground. "I don't know if I should do the solo what if I don't get the part then I might get mad. Ok she's calling our side now I guess fine I'll do the solo. Then all of a sudden she calls my name and I go up there as my heart is racing I feel a sudden gush of wind going up my spine the wind feels like I'm out side with no coat on in winter time while and is snowing that's how cold that wind was. Then she said all of you sing in 1, 2, 3 and go then we all sing "You can be amazing you can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug." Then she said to me "sing" when I start singing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the singing sounded like this "you can be amazing you can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug. When I was done the girl that sits next to me says "Why is your face so red?" I don't respond because I feel weird and stupid for not being able to sing better than I did. I had this weird blood tasting taste in my mouth. The taste tasted gross. Then she said why don't we all sing together out loud. Ready set go then this is all I hear amazing blah blah blah blah nothing blah blah than I hear everyone just scream SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY AND LET THE WORDS FALLOUT mmmm I WANNA SEE YOU BE BEAVE! After we were done singing the song our choir teacher said these kids need to come to me and sing in front of the class so we can hear you sing. Myah and some other kid come up. When I was singing I like I could do it. Then she started the song we in my opinion sounded great. When class was over I went to put my folder away and the choir teacher said that she is most likely to pick me for the solo. Hope I get the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Who Is The Best Choice? Over the years of my life, I have come up with many different philosophies from famous quotes, observation, and even learn or heard from people. I mix and match many of them together to suit what I believe is the best choice. Now the follow philosophies I have are only a portion of what I have because it could be either I forgot, change, or still work in progress. Since I have a good handful of different philosophies, I'll try to give each one a fair overview of what and why. First philosophy I follow in life is to not force my ideas, views, philosophy to other. The reason begin is that everyone (who is capable) has a choice. They can decide if they want to or not. I would rather suggest the idea and allow them to see if they want to or not. Even though this sounds a bit morbid but I think we must hurt in order to grow, fail in order to know, & lose in order to gain. Because some lessons in life, are best learned through pain. If we went through life with some sort of pain, we learn nothing and don't process to better ourselves. For a relationship, just because you love someone, doesn't mean you can stick around & screw up their life. Nothing is worse than being in a relationship and being the reason why their life is all out of focus because you are to scare to let go. Even though, you love them, you should do the right thing and let them go for their benefit. There's also room to act like a child sometimes. Just taking life as it is and enjoys it without the adult ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Warren Wiersbe's 'Song To A New Song' SING TO THE LORD A NEW SONG "Worship is the believer's response of all that they are – mind, emotions, will, body – to what God is and says and does." Warren Wiersbe I love new music. I really, really do. As I sit here and type that phrase out it resounds even more, like a pounding drum building to a glorious crescendo. I love new music. In fact, to put it more succinctly, I love new worship music. I spend hours each week pouring through the new songs that are arising out of different faith families all over the world. The new melodies woven with new lyrics, telling new stories of all that God is doing, touches me deeply, to the very core of who I am. It's no wonder that God commands us to do it. Numerous places throughout scripture, from Psalms to Isaiah to Revelation, God commands his people to sing a new song to Him. One of those places where we see this command is in Psalm 96. The psalmist writes in verse 1 of that Psalm – "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth." It was never God's intention for us to sing just one song or a collection of songs from a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This reality is the truth that we should also be singing a new song. The command given by God in Psalm 96 and in other places, has no statute of limitations. It didn't expire the moment we crossed over into the year 100 A.D. This command is for us today and to those who will come after us. The reason why there should always be new songs is because God is continually doing a new thing. He is continually reaching into the hearts of people and creating a new work within them. God is immutable and will never stop being God. One of the reasons why we are charged to sing a new song is because God is still alive and moving and there are many more stories to tell. And it is through those new songs that many will see and fear and put their trust in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. An Explanation Of Woody G's Song "This land is made for you and me." That famous song was brought into the world by folk singer Woody Guthrie on day in 1944. He is famous also for being poor when he was young and having both parents leave him at 14 with no money or home. He became a hobo traveling town to town and that's when he picked up his first guitar. He taught himself to play and eventually was a songwriter inspiring people everywhere. He has also voiced a famous quote that says "I hate a song that makes you think you are not any good. I hate a song that makes you think that you are just born to lose. Bound to lose. No good to nobody. No good for nothing. Because you are too old or too young or too fat or too slim. Too ugly or too this or too that. I'm out to fight those songs to my very last breath of air and my last drop of blood. I am out to sing songs that will prove to you that this is your world and that if it has hit you pretty hard and knocked you for a dozen loops, no matter what color, what size you are, how you are built, I am out to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For one both were said or sung by Woody G. Another similarity is that on both you get the impression that he will never quit. He will pursue he dreams until he dies. Lastly in both he also is addressing everyone not just one person. The quote is owned by the Guthrie family. That means you must pay them if you sing the song. The quote is not owned. If someone wants to sing it they have to pay the Guthrie family. Also that one is a quote which is said but the song is a song and it is sung not said. Lastly in the quote it is from the heart not carefully planned out very carefully like the song. In conclusion Woody Guthrie was a very inspirational folk singer to people all around. As he once said, "A folk singer's jobs is to make the disturbed people feel comfortable and the comfortable people feel disturbed." There is a lot of hard work that goes into something like that, and glee portrays it all wrong. All the hard work that goes into it like: cleaning the choreography, learning the voice parts, and the many hours of practice. In a recent article by spark notes, in reality 90% of choir kids are theater geeks and really want to help train their voices, while in glee it seems like they just sing then go to the Gym. Show choir is so much more than just busting out in song; it's about making friendship doing something you really love to do and to make a lasting impression on someone's life. If we continue to let glee gives us the idea of what show choir is, then the real show choir world will fall into a myth. Show choir is a lifestyle to most it as we call it a way of living. Some people find it very offensive when they ask "do you want to join show choir", and then they get a response like. NO I hate glee. My first question is what does glee have to do with it? Do people even know what show choir really is? Glee has made millions of dollars trying to portray their way of thinking about show choir. Do you ever see the parents that put in the hard work of costumes, stitching dresses that have fallen apart, making sure everyone costumes are fit, and they work hard at bingo most of the time to pay for it. • 29. Friday Choirs Dear Parents/Guardians of 7th & 8th Grade Chapel Choir Members, I am writing to inform you about recent changes to the Friday only Chapel Choir class structure. In an effort to make students more successful, comfortable, and enjoying their class, the format was altered from a typical "choir rehearsal" to something more akin to Music Appreciation/ General & Vocal Music. So far, the results have been positive. Students now do not sing every class period, but are experiencing and learning about many different aspects and styles of music. They are graded on classwork (work completion, effort, & participation), formative assessments (classwork graded for accuracy), and summative assessments (projects lasting longer than one class period). Friday choirs will no longer perform in chapels. I apologize if this is something you had looked forward to. However, I have offered any student who wants to sing, the opportunity to sing in chapel as a small group. This is something that students would work on as an alternative to one of our class activities. So far, 3 students have come forward asking to sing. Please read below to learn more about why we switched. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The choir only meets on Fridays due to tremendous scheduling difficulties at GRCMS. After one year of this Friday choir, it became apparent that typical concert performances would not suit the choir. This fall (2016) it was converted into Chapel Choir. The "chapel performances only" aspect was an effort to structure the choir more like a church choir. This format fit well with the goal of creating lifelong musicians, as church choirs might be the only choir many students experience into adulthood. This fall, I also gave students weekly homework in an effort to make students more comfortable when it came time to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Maya Angelou In I Know why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou we see self–belief and overcoming adversity when Maya Angelou is talking about the caged bird being trapped in the cage with her wings clipped and her feet tied and the caged bird still tries to open his throat to sing, this can be referenced to the black people when Maya Angelou was growing up and the free bird could be referenced as the white people in this story because the free bird could do anything and fly free in the air as much as they want, but the caged bird is trapped in the caged with nothing they can do. This could all reference to the time when Maya Angelou was growing up because when she was growing up there was a lot of racism around the American people and also gender inequality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of a language feature used in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is "the caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings for freedom." Maya Angelou is using Emotive Language in this part of the Poem to really show that the caged bird is trapped and trying really hard to call out for someone. The emotive language really help show the struggle that the bird is going through, this could reference to the struggle Maya Angelou went through growing up because she was really hard for her to grow up because she was a Black woman growing up in America and Black woman were looked down upon by other people like the white people (free bird), and it was a real big struggle for her but she didn't let it pull her down, she kept her head up and tried really hard and overcame all odds and became very successful. This is important because Maya Angelou is trying to tell the reader of this poem that even though the caged bird is trapped in the caged with her wings clipped and legs tied if you have enough self–belief, you will sooner or later overcome it and be free with the free bird. A poem I can compare this poem to A Brave and Startling Truth because both of these poems have the same main idea which is self belief and overcoming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the novel it describes mockingbirds as singing, innocent birds that should not be killed because of the joy they bring and it's considered a sin to kill a mockingbird. They sing as an expression or communication just as each of the characters do in the novel. The characters may not sing out loud but, they do have a song of their own. Characters that come to mind are Atticus Finch, Jem Finch, and Boo Radley. In a sense Atticus Finch is like a father figure. He sets an example for many of the people in the town and many of them depend on him for help. But, Atticus also has the role of being the lawyer of the town. ... Kids need to have a basic understanding of note values and pitches and how to interpret them into musical sounds. By teaching them how to read music first, future choir rehearsals will be more productive. Many children's choir instructors will incorrectly assume that it takes too long to teach a child how to read music. The reality is that by teaching these basics first it will allow the choir to sing much more effectively in the future. Step 1: Begin by teaching the children how to read rhythm aurally. Have them remember the spaces on the staff by using the following trick: "If you look between the lines, you see your FACE." Explain that the spaces spell the word F – A – C – E. Step 4: Teach the names of the lines of the treble clef by using an acronym. A good acronym to use is "Every Good Boy Does Fine." The first letter of each word is the name of a line. Step 5: Explain that the correct way to breathe is through the diaphragm and that the children should never force a note that is too high. If a child is having trouble singing a part, give them a higher or lower part to sing. Step 6: Perform musical scales with them. Start with major scales. • 57. Reflection About Ministry I have learned that ministry goes beyond just preaching God's word. According to Earley and Gutierrez (2016) real ministry is doing your part. Ministry is also glorifying God in ministry based on the gifts or talents that he has blessed you with and uplifting his name and making others aware of the goodness of God through that gift or talent. My ministry is music. I have been singing since I was a little girl and I now know that this is my calling from God. Being able to minister to people and encourage them in the Lord through song has become a passion for me. I have found throughout my life that gospel music has always made me feel encouraged throughout the trials in my life. So, being able to actually give someone that encouragement and let them know that no matter what God is there through it all blesses my soul and theirs. "There has never been a more demanding season of ministry than we are experiencing today" (Gutierrez, 2014, p. 13). This statement is so true and I know being able to minister to people through music is a very important ministry. "Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless his name; Proclaim good tidings of his salvation from day to day (Psalm 96:1–2). I prepare for my ministry every day. I practice learning and singing new songs daily. One of the biggest struggles I have dealt with is singing. I have always loved to sing. Whenever a song comes on the radio I belt out the lyrics like there is no tomorrow. The connection that's the boldest to me is that "singing" or "too sing" represent them being the American or having a certain title in America. In the poem I Hear America Singing is that they are proud and stand out for being American's and having what they have. I entered through the double–doors, and I signed–in while school security officers' wand–down students. Then I located the main office, and I accepted my assignment papers titled: Chorus Concert I, (Period 6). The substitute teachers' coordinator told me that I was assigned to two chorus classes. My instructions were to sit in the classroom and listen to them sing. I felt enthralled by the assignment. I thought, "Fantastic!" All day long, I looked forward to going to Period 6; the symphony class. I could not wait to be amused by the melodies of talented young chorus singers. The moment arrived, and I stepped into that rumbustious and loud classroom. Then I scanned the architectural design of the room. The classroom resembled a mid–size basketball gym. The concrete blocked walls were painted white. The hard wood floors complimented two black pianos scattered in opposite locations in the vicinity. My evaluation of the room's facility was interrupted by a BLASTING surprise. For example, there were 40 energetic students amid one substitute teacher: me. A few, but not all, of the students' hormones, ran faster than a New York City freight train. After I glanced at what was happening, I said, "Goodness gracious!" "Where is the choir?!" I asked loudly. With raised eyebrows, I said, "Huh?" "What do you mean, you don't sing?" "Isn't this a chorus class?" "Chorus means to sing, right?" I asked with a tone of frustration. Since nobody struck up a tune, my next instinct was to get the class organized. I stopped trying to identify the songbirds, and I

While it's correct that some people have been blessed with the golden voice, the simple truth is that anyone can learn to sing better than they do now. When it comes down to it, using your voice is just like using any other instrument. For example, have you ever tried playing a violin without any violin lessons beforehand? The resulting screeching sound would probably have you think you're not cut out for playing the violin, but the truth is that you just don't have the necessary skills yet. Singing is just like that – you need to put in the hours in order to get better. That said, learning to sing properly is not something that can be picked up easily. If you're not taking the correct singing lessons, you'll probably just end up straining your vocal chords with little to no benefits to show for it. That's why I wanted to talk you through an interesting singing method that should help you improve your singing ability in a reasonable period of time. In the song Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono this is the case. In the song John Lennon and Yoko Ono do a fantastic job using literary devices to make the songs message stand out more. Now, what is the message? The theme might be a song that disagrees or protests the Vietnam War. The three literary devices that make this theme stand out more in the song are; rhythm and rhyme, repetition, and irony. All of those literary devices have a big part on the song. Rhythm and rhyme is seen all throughout the song. It also plays a big part in the song. The literary device of rhythm and rhyme compare things in some parts of the song. In stanza 1, line 2 and 4 you can see the lines "And what have you done", "And a new one just begun". The two rhyming words are done and begun. Since the song is about stopping wars, maybe Yoko and John are trying to convey a message of, "We have to get done with the wars we begun". Another example of rhythm and rhyme is in stanza 3, lines 2 and 4. "For weak and for strong", "The world is so wrong". The two words strong and wrong are very powerful words with the possibility of trying to say "We need to be strong to stop with what is wrong or the wars". Adding ... So how can you do it? Become One With Your Instrument It might sound obvious, but unless you are comfortable with the instrument you play, you are complicating things by starting to sing. If getting through a song on your guitar is difficult enough without singing, you are probably better off taking a few online lessons to improve your skillset before starting to sing. Being comfortable playing the guitar doesn't necessarily mean you need to be a master of your instrument. You just need to be aware of the most essential skills, like being able to play the chords of your chosen song without thinking too much. Indeed, singing while playing a musical instruments like the piano or the guitar can be useful when you are practicing notes, chords and the like, but you should definitely learn the basics of both separately before you take it all a step further. When I run long distance I love it and would never stop but let's say there's a big hill in front of me that's when I have to push through and feel like I could do it. "This girl is on fire." is a part of the song and sometimes during cross country we sprint up pretty big hills and if I sing that in my head it makes me go faster. Also if i'm running in a race (which is a 5k) and I want to slow down or start walking I sing this to myself and it helps me out. In the end this song helps me get through the hardest but funnest part of the day. "Hey Soul Sister" by Train brings me back to time when my sister and I would love this song. It's make it or break it based off of my music strictly. That is a little scary especially when you're writing country music you share a lot of your heart. When I started singing country music I had to set my boundaries and decide what I wanted to sing about. I won't sing something...that is contrary to what I think is morally right." This means that Lawson Bates won't be singing the typical country music. You are used to hearing songs about drinking, cheating and other things that are not morally right to him, and Lawson will be avoiding this music. There are a lot of country songs that don't have to do with this stuff either, but it does make some people wonder why he didn't decide to go into the gospel genre instead. Another thing that Lawson Bates wants to do is use his music to inspire others. He shared his thoughts. "I...visit the children's hospital in Knoxville, which is one of my favorite things to do. In the poems "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou and "Sympathy" by Paul Laurence Dunbar are two poems about a bird trapped in a cage but each is told differently with a different perspective. These two story also are very like in a way that you feel the same way or can relate to both of these stories in the same way. These poems leave a message in your head , but one is more meaningful compared to the other. One tells of someone realizing why the caged bird fights to be freed while the other tells the story of a caged bird as a narrator. I believe the most meaningful poem is Sympathy because I feel there is more emotion in this poem like in the first line is say"". This shows that no matter what this bird will fight to be free no matter how strong the bars are he must try and try to become free. No matter how big his scars and cuts re he still fights to be free and never gives into the likes of becoming pessimistic or hopeless. While in the other poem, the ... He prays to be free and to not be enslaved in his cage where he must stay till he dies yet he prays to be free out in the wild, free of restraint and boredom. While in the other poem it says on line "" . This shows that this bird sings with fear that he will be stuck forever in his cage but doesn't beat against the cage. He just sings with sadness and not sing because he is worn out because he is stuck and simply has no way of trying to get out. This shows that the one in the poem sympathy is fighting with all his might, then sings while the other bird's wings are clipped so and his feet are tied so all he can do is sing for someone to help ... For example, Langston Hughes' poem I Too and Walt Whitmans poem I Hear America Singing are very good poems that talk about America. I Too talks about how racism will once be solved and how his family treats him because he is the darker brother. I Hear America Singing is about the voices of America and how each American citizen sounds when they sing. There are three reasons why Hughes poem builds on Whitmans poem. The first reason is because Hughes is an American citizen and is saying that he to sings America. For example, in his poem, he starts off the poem by saying he too sings America. This friend pushed this saying deep into my heart until it made it seem as if it kept my heart beating. I never really began to understand what she meant when she repeated this saying to me until she explained it. She said to me that to dream on is to not give up, and to sing louder is to not let anyone take my voice away from me. Singing has always been a huge part in my life from singing in talent shows to singing in the shower. My mother said that I never stopped singing. The journey of my singing began with my first School of Rock program and is now being pursued on my churches worship team today. Before I start to tell you about my singing journey, I feel as if I should explain why I started to sing in the first place. It all began when I was four years old, my older sister Kassidy would always, and I mean always, be listening to music in her room and singing. As we grew up she learned how to play the guitar and how to write songs. She inspired me to sing and I couldn't thank her enough for it. When my sister was 12 years old she started to get involved in this program named School of Rock. When she would sing on that stage I constantly wished that I was her. I could not wait until I was in the 7th grade so that I could be a part of it as well. The day eventually came and I was terrified. Still I Rise The battle of self–love vs. finding one's true purpose in life A Study of Maya Angelou's "Still I rise" and "I know why the caged bird sings" The purpose of this essay is to examine the theme of immense self–love versus finding one's true purpose in life and accepting who one was meant to be despite all obstacles. In Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise" and "I know why the caged bird sings" the reader can debate the two through the use of emotion and metaphor choice. In "Still I rise" the reader can observe similarities in Angelou's words to describe self–acceptance and self–satisfaction. In "I know why the caged bird sings" readers can relate to the struggle of finding one's true purpose and battling how others see them aside from who they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As stated in stanza 4 "Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops, weakened by my soulful cries?" Angelou is relating with readers by letting them know that it is not always easy to be strong. Angelou explains how those who were against her were expecting to see her low and doing poorly as the bird in "I know why the caged bird sings" was. Instead of giving them the power over her she rose stronger than she was when she was initially knocked down. What Angelou wants the reader to take from this stanza is that although you may not spring back automatically from a let down; do not allow the negative person or situation to see you failing or see that the negative situation is affecting you. In the song Griffin sings, "You don't need this broken kind of love. I set the rules are you gonna stay? This is a game you might not want to play." Ever since they first made their arrangement, Miles had been afraid of hurting Tate. That's when he created the rule "Don't ask about the past, never expect a future" Also in the song the artist sings, "I've been waiting for you to come and pull me back down, all the weight of the truth is taking me to the ground." In the end of the book when Miles is finally confessing his love to Tate he says, "She was either going to be the death of me...or she was going to be the one to bring me back to life." Miles knew that Tate was going to be the one to relieve him of the weight he's been carrying around for 6 years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Feel the fear and do it anyways. This is put across when the author writes from Tate's point of view, "I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the expression I just saw on his face was fear. I just wished I knew what he was scared of, because Lord knows I know exactly what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of how this is going to end." Later on in the song Sia sings, "Tell her on how you feel, give her every say she needs to hear, give your heart, and say 'come take it' and she will see you're a good man." The movie based around a young man named Harold Chasen, and an old woman Maude. Harold seems to have a bizarre psychological fascination with death. While Maude is also interested in death; she enjoys living as well and has lived her life to the fullest. Both are brought together while attending funerals simply because they enjoy them. Maude begins to influence and change Harold's perceptions and attitudes about life. Maude shares many of these ideas and beliefs with Harold, teaching him to dance, play the banjo, and just enjoy being alive, not dead. Harold was unaware that when he met Maude, she had planed all along to end her life at the age of eighty. She says several times throughout the movie, "Did you know I'll be eighty on Saturday". Her decision to commit suicide shows that Maude feels she has done her part in helping Harold be a happier person and has succeeded in teaching him how to love and enjoy life, which are qualities he did not possess prior to their meeting. She makes him understand this when, after he tells her he loves her, she says, "Go and love some more." After Maude's death, Harold drives his car over a cliff in another attempt to make people believe he is dead again. Harold walks away playing his banjo and dancing, things that Maude had taught him. By driving his car over the cliff to make people think he is dead again makes Harold happy since he enjoys being dead, but the banjo and Harold's dancing are symbols of the effects of his relationship with Maude. These signify that Harold has grown due to his relationship with Maude and will use the advice that Maude has given him in order to live a more fulfilling and enjoyable life. Because this film is so influenced by it's time, it seems appropriate that the director used the music of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens music defined a generation, and Harold and Maude are no exception.
