2. • The labels on dispensed medicines should –
(i) Give the patient clear and complete instructions on how to take or use the
preparations .
(ii) Indicate the storage conditions necessary to ensure full potency throughout the
period of treatment .
(iii) Be neatly written and carefully displayed on the container , thus strengthening the
patient’s confidence in the preparation .

5. PHARMACEUTICAL LABELS
1. GLUED PAPER: This is a separate paper cut into proper size and design of the
container onto the labeling conditions are printed and then glued by using natural
gum .
2. SELF- ADHESIVE LABEL: This is a material with adhesive backing. It will
adhere to the surface automatically by the action of the glue when pressure is
applied. It is composed of paper, PVC or polyester .

6. 3.HEAT SEAL LABEL: This needs the application of heat to activate the adhesive.
These labels are made by application of heat and pressure and are used for
permanent labeling and tamper evident applications.

For label printing, two general methods are used namely ink jet printing and laser coding
are used for pharmaceutical package and drug containers. Both methods are independent of
exterior texture and design .
7. Types of labeling machine
(1) Flat class labeling machine : Machine is to achieve the plane on the work
piece .The arc of the label and foil , Such as boxes ,books ,plastic shell etc. are
rolling and smoking stickers.
(2) Round bottle labeling machine : Machine is to achieve in cylindrical ,conical
circumferential surface of the product label or film . Such as glass bottles and
plastic bottles .
(3) Side of the class labelling machine : Machine is to achieve the work piece side
of the plane , side arc label or film such as cosmetic bottles flat , square can
complete a round bottle cover standard equipment , while achieving a round
bottle labeling
