This document outlines a 10 step process for planning effective library programs. The steps include: 1) defining the program purpose and mission, 2) setting goals and objectives, 3) identifying the audience, 4) planning the content and activities, 5) selecting a time and location, 6) developing a marketing and outreach plan, 7) allocating resources and supplies, 8) creating a budget, 9) facilitating collaboration, and 10) planning program evaluations. Examples of marketing materials like press releases, brochures, bookmarks and flyers are also provided. A checklist is included to help organize tasks leading up to and following a program.
