1. Owen Green production Review
Describe the whole process
For this assignment, we were given the task of developing advertisements that was developed for
Lynx. We had to research the philosophy of what Lynx achieved in the previous advertisements; the
approach was consistent of what Lynx had managed to do in the previous advertisements by
portraying women to be attracted to people (males) that utilises the Lynx product beforehand.
We decided on what roles to pursue as we focused on the advertisement at hand that was given to
us. I was the person who mainly focused on delivering key shots of the advertisements as I was
responsible for filming the advertisement. Aaron was given the task of directing the advert due to his
leadership skills enabled the production to follow smoothly and productively. Kiel and Kieran were
the actors; this is merely due to the fact that they could portray the typical Lynx customer and
successively come to terms with what Lynx has in their advertisement production.
The idea of the storyboard is that the person is in the café and is on his phone, whom is suddenly
confronted by women. The person is the smiling and the text appears with a lynx can. This advert is
supposed to represent what lynx is supposed to do to the person that uses Lynx products.
The film was good because it portrayed what was relevant to the Lynx franchise; by establishing that
the advert has the same similarities and consistencies as with the previous adverts. The filming was
also well managed as we had our actors act with as much enthusiasm as possible which although at
hard at times; worked overall to our success.
He had a variety of techniques into our advertisement such as sex appeal and price appeal etc. We
had used this to showcase what the target audience wants and in term will come to choose our
product as acorrelation to what they want in the meantime.
I had use different editing techniques such as cutting, crossing clips together with various
soundtracks to display the advert thoroughly. We had used this effect to simply professionalise the
advert.
I came up for the print advert around the time I was still looking up print adverts for Lynx, the idea
was initially a guy, with four women and a huge house displaying how wealthy and lucky the guy
was, to have a massive house and attractive women; which then we say that basically all this was
achieved by using lynx, in which I’m sure the target audience will understand.
2. The programme I had used effectively to make this print advert is a software called Adobe
Photoshop. We had used this as it was a cost productive effort to maximise profits without losing
too much money.
The advertising techniques I had used in this print advert are of the following: snob appeal and sex
appeal. We had used these techniques to persuade the audience of a life of fast cars, big houses and
of course a life of luxury if you use Lynx products.
I decided on the product to advertise by analysing the key points I want to advert which are: is the
advertising validated by an appeal usually advertising techniques that are available), is the product
easy to understand and if the product can be replicated for advertising use.
I went through the process of analysing the key points of making a radio advert for others to hear. I
had then searched on the internet to see what is appropriate and what is not in the U.K (where the
advert is being played), and established what actor could come in and record the voice and put into
the software called reaper and edited the pieces together.
We had used a technique called stacking which is a process of stacking information about why we
need Lynx in the advertising. This is good because the user will recognise what I was trying to
accomplish.
I had learnt that they are regulation and safety measures in the world of advertising that fluctuate
from one end to another in intense detail that defines the world of marketing for the target
audience. I’ve also learned that appropriately using the advertising techniques with a good plot is
significant to the viewers as a way to buy the product thus commemorating the success of the
business market.
There were a few difficulties such as some people weren’t in for the duration of the day thus
delaying our work which would previously halt the progress of thework.
I would not do this differently because I thought the work overall was exceptional despite the
problems given to us at hand.
