1. What kind of media
institution might distribute
your media product and
why?
BY SALVATORE ADOASI
2. Production company - C&I
productions
We used C&I production company, which is
an independent company making us use
an independent distrutor. We couldn't go
with a mainstream production comapny
due to the budget we had. They allowed us
and helped use create the project we
planned originally, helping us portray all our
ideas. like revolver entertainment, they
have a large online presences with our
target audience. They were suited to our
sub genre as they shared common views
with us.
3. Distribution company - Revolver
entertainment
Revolver entertainment is the company we
choose to distribute our project. When
researching the films that inspired us, such as
'Kidulthood' and 'Adulthood' our research showed
us that this distriution company appeared a
numerous amount of times with projects that
were similar with our budget.
4. Distribution company continues ...
Revolver entertainment distributes real media texts such as
'Kidulthood' and 'Adulthood'. These films are very similar to ours
when considering or discussing sub genre, which was crime youth
drama. Them already distributing films similar to ours made them
appropriate to distribute our media project as they knew our target
audience and how to reach out to out target audience, by
advertising in the correct places. There huge online presences first
suited where we were going to distribute our project, which was on
the internet but they over welmed us with options. We had a
theatrical premiere in sn indepednent art house in islington green,
called screen on the green cinema. Along with distributing it on
vimeo and sharing the link to the project through its huge online
presences and releasing in in the DVD format for home
entertainment distrubution, which was sold in colleges and online
buying websies, which is where our target audience could recieve
it from.
5. Impacts
My group had to make all the idents from
scratch because they are both small
independent companies that didn't have well
known, eye catching company idents. We
had to be more creative because we do not
have the same connections as big
mainstream companies so had to make an
appealing title sequence. our titles also were
longer because these idents had to be longer
to advertise the smaller companies
