1. Who would be the audience for
your media product?
2. Age variance
The age rating for our film is a 15, we decided to rate it at
this age as the film contains a small amount of violence
and also some strong language, and all of our characters
are themselves young people. However strong language
and violence has not been used excessively in our film
therefore we feel it doesn’t have to be an 18 age rated
production.
We think that the age rage of people who would watch
this film would be between 15 and 40.
3. Target audience
Crime drama films are usually aimed at both males and females,
however we feel that our film opening appeals to males slightly
more then females as both the characters in the opening are
male.
The two male characters seen in the film opening may seem
very stereotypical to how masculinity can often be portrayed
through violence and strong language in various films and TV
productions, for this reason we feel that our film is more likely
to attract male audiences rather than female.
On the other hand female audiences would still be interested in
the film as crime is something that is very real to the modern
world, and affects females just as much as males.
4. Urban audience
We feel that the audience for our film opening is more likely to
be working class people from urban settings rather than upper
or middle class people from wealthy areas. We think this would
be the case as the locations used to shoot our film are quite
built up and fairly deprived looking, this gives the footage an
inner-city feel to it.
Furthermore the appearance and behaviour of the characters
themselves adds to this feel through their use of dialogue and
strong language, and also the their clothes such as Antonio
wearing a tracksuit and trainers.
