2. • I like the variety of different locations which have been used in this advert to
show the trainer whilst in usage on the various athletes feet, such as a running
track, a concrete road, a basketball court and some concrete steps
• The slow motion technique is used a lot in this footage to focus on the trainers of
the athletes, this gives the audience a chance to study the design of the shoe in
detail rather than just seeing them briefly, this may be something I could use in
my footage although it may prove to be difficult
• Furthermore slow motion has been used to focus on the bodies of the athletes as
they run, in order to show their high performance as their muscles can be seen
working, this may suggest to readers that the trainers which they are wearing are
enabling them to perform in this way, as the action switches between the bodies
of the athletes and their footwear
• Towards the end of the footage a title screen shows saying, ‘Light. Strong. Nike
Flyknit.’. This describes the product in few words in a short simple way, which is
still effective in generating interest towards the product as these are products
traits which consumers would want running trainers to have, I am likely to use
titles like this in my footage to describe the products which I am advertising
3. • From this advert for a Nike sports trainer, I like the way how title screens
point out specific things about the design, whilst the action of the
trainer freeze frames or moves in slow motion next to the information,
for example ‘Dynamic Harness Lacing System For Customized Lockdown’,
this is something which I may use in my adverts
• The athlete within the advert can be seen using the trainers whilst doing
many different physical exercises, such as jumping, running,
sidestepping, kickboxing, stretching and skipping, this shows that the
product is useful for a wide range of sports activities not just running
meaning that the product can appeal to a wide audience, I may include
other areas of physical exercise and sport in my adverts besides running
• Finally at the end of the advert the company logo is simply shown briefly
without the company name next to it, I am unsure whether I will use my
company name and logo at the end of my advert or just one of the two
4. (Although this jacket is for women there are things within the advert which I like and
could transfer into my advert)
• The company logo is shown first before any footage, this establishes the brand I may
decide to do this in my advert
• The first shot shows a slight pan as a women can be seen running in the distance
towards the camera, I like how this shot establishes the action of running showing
what the advert is going to be advertising, this is backed up by the title screen which
shows in the top left corner during this shot simply saying the name of the product
‘Fly Softshell Run Jacket’, I may use a similar shot towards the start of the footage
when creating my advert
• This advert shows simple shots on a black background showing the jacket close up
whilst titles appear next to the footage, this gives the audience time to study the
appearance of the jacket itself rather than just seeing it in use, whilst the benefits to
having this jacket are pointed out, for example ‘internal fist mitts seal in warmth’
5. • This pop up is effective in
drawing the attention of the
audience to the shoe itself, as
the trainer is made up of bright
colours which have probably been
enhanced by Photoshop, whilst
the background of the pop up is
white, this makes the product
stand out
• The price of the product sits just
to the left of the shoe in white
text on a black circle
background, this will be noticed
by the reader as they first off
look at the shoe then the price,
after looking at the current price
the reader of the pop will
instantly notice that the price has
been lowered from £104.99
making them feel as if they are
getting a good deal if they
purchase this product
• The company logo is placed in the top
right hand corner of the pop up, this is
one of the first things the audience will
see in looking over at the right side as
the company logo is in red on a white
background which makes it catch the
eye of the viewer, in effect the readers
attention is then drawn to the name of
the product which is underneath it in
bold black capital writing, again the
colour of this writing stands out on the
white background, I will use
contrasting colours for the information
on my pop ups in comparison to the
background in order to make the
writing stand out
6. • This pop-up for a running jacket is small in height but wide in width, therefore
the model who is wearing the running jacket advertised can only be seen from
the chest up, this also means that the product which is being advertised cannot
fully be seen, in a way this could be making the audience want to click on the
‘shop flash clothing’ and ‘learn more’ links in order to get a better view of the
product which can briefly be seen
• The background of the pop-up resembles outer space, creating the denotation in
the mind of the reader that this ‘flash’ jacket is like no other running jacket
through the connection to it being out of this world
• Furthermore the audience of the pop up will subliminally make the connection in
their minds between the word ‘flash’ and the stars within the outer space
background, making them wonder just how reflective this jacket is as they think
of how bright stars are
• The name of the product is in bold capital letters and is in a bigger font than the
other text on the pop-up,making both the company name NIKE and name of the
product NIKE FLASH JACKET stand out
• Under the product name is two lines of information about the jacket which make
it seem unique from other products on the market
7. • Dark background colours have
been used in contrast to the
light colours of the running
jacket in order to make the
product stand out, the product
further stands out as it is
pictured next to the photo of a
model wearing it on its own in
single view, this is something I
will do when making my pop
up in order to draw attention
to the product
• The name of the product is
positioned just above the
photo of the jacket in bold
capital letters, this stands out
the name of the product I am
likely to use a similar
technique
• Two buttons have been placed under the
product on the right hand side of the pop-up,
one saying find out more and the other
saying quick buy, these are short and simple
commands in capital letters in order to try
and tell the audience that they should click
on these links, I will think about using
similar short and simple commands for my
pop up
8. • Concept of time is compressed through this sponsorship sequence, the
footage is 30 seconds long, at first it is light outside but by the end of the
sequence it is dark, I could use something like this in my sequence to
suggest the passing of a day
• Music is playing over the footage within the sequence, the voices of the
women within the footage are not heard, the audience can see from the
action within the footage that these women are having a girls night in,
eating, drinking and socializing, the jolly music suggests that they are
enjoying themselves as does their facial expressions, I may use a concept of
having music playing over the action within my sponsorship sequence
without anyone I may use in the footage actually talking
• The narrator used In the sequence doesn't’t speak until the end of the
footage however the audience can already see that the sponsoring product
and company is echo falls as it can be seen as various times in the action,
this is a technique I could consider using
9. • As the narrators speaks and says ‘discovering a different world I cant wait’
the women in the action of the footage smiles to herself, this makes it
seem like the narrators voice is the voice within the head of the women
within the footage, this is a technique which could prove to be useful
when making a sponsorship sequence if I use a character in my footage
• The background of the footage is blurred where as the action closer to the
camera is in focus, this makes the audience concentrate their attention
fully on the action of the footage, and focus on not only the action of the
worker aiming to please the women who seems to be a customer but also
the enjoyment which the customer is receiving, I may take inspiration
from this and blur out the background in my sponsorship sequence in
order for all the attention of the audience to be solely on the product
which I may briefly show whilst also advertising the programme which I
am going to sponsor.
