1. Preparetoolsandmaterials(fineaggregate escapedsieveno. 4)
2. Fillthe measuringcup with sandasmuch as1/3 volume of the measuringcup, addclear water until3/4 full.
3. Bottleclosedwith tied plastic,andshakethebottle(measuring cup)for 30 minutes.
4. Leave thesampleontheflat for 24 hours.
5. After 24 hours,thesamplewill form 3 layersof water,mud, and sand.
6. Calculatethe volumeof mud(V1) andthe volume of sand(V2).
