Introduction to ArtificiaI Intelligence in Higher Education

1. A
My Fourth Grade class is comprised of eleven girls and nine boys, making the total number of
students twenty. Out of those twenty students, two are Muslim, two are African American, and
three are Jewish.
S
With a 90% accuracy, my class will know three different holiday traditions celebrated during
Christmas time other than their own by the end of two weeks through the use of student
presentations, class discussion, movies, and traditional meal sampling from the four holidays
being discussed in class.
S
The tools I will be using to achieve my objective are: movies about different holiday traditions,
classroom discussions about the four holidays we will be studying, traditional meals from those
holidays, and student presentations they will do on three holidays other than the one they
celebrate every year at Christmas time.
U
My students will first watch the movies about all four holiday traditions to get some basic
knowledge to start them off on. Following the movies, the class will discuss each holiday in
length, gaining insight from other students who actually celebrate those other holidays. My
students will then bring in dishes served during their own holiday for the other students to
sample, and this will be followed by class discussions as well to explain each dish and why it is
served during that holiday. Finally, the students will do presentations on three other holidays
other than their own, noting the differences between the traditions.
R
Learner participation will be required through class discussion after each movie, bringing in
dishes made during the holidays they celebrate during Christmas time, more classroom
discussion about the dishes brought in, and finally through the student presentations about
three different holidays than their own.
E
I will evaluate my students’ progress by the quality of their presentations at the end of the two
weeks. If any students fall into the 10% inaccuracy range, I will give them the option to redo
their presentation with a partner this time if necessary in order for them to understand a different
holiday celebrated at Christmas time other than their own.
