Introduction
There has been a continuous struggle between the
needs of the individual and the external forces
since time immemorial. During the course of life
a person meets several problems and failures,
needs to solve them and learns from those
problems. As long as an individual is directed
towards achievement of his goals and his needs
are satisfied, he remains adjusted, failing this, he
may drift towards mental illness such as
aggression, maladjustment, emotional instability
etc. Therefore, frustration and adjustment
should be accepted as a usual course of life and

There is a feeling among some people and even
among a section of teachers also that people enter in

but something in the system of education itself or
the social and economic environment of the school

psychologically unfavorable attitude towards the
profession. Due to increasing burden of teachers in
higher secondary schools there is an urgent need to
attempt to examine and resolve certain basic issues
