4. What I’ve concluded from evaluating my draft.
From watching this trailer I have concluded that it is too short, and from a member of the publics point of
view they didn’t know it was a trailer, it was very ambiguous. The lack of sound is major when looking into
trailers. The characters have to be inserted to make the trailer look realistic. From research the storyline
needs to be established in the trailer without giving too much away, it has top make the audience want to
watch it. Next lesson when editing I will chose relevant sound effects, transitions and try to get more
footage to chose from with a variety of shot types.
6. Good
Bad
Good use of photos at the start,
starting to establish/ introduce the
story line.
Needs more sound effects.
Images at the start need to be
quickened as it lags too much.
Agan, too short, lacks characters, lacks
differential camera shots
“coming soon” text needs to be
presented in a more technical way
through LiveType maybe. This makes
it more interesting to the viewer
7. The second draft, I don’t really see it as a draft due to it being only 30seconds. This was only a
section of the trailer to insert into the 1st draft trailer. I like the fact the trailer is now establishing
a storyline and is becoming a little clearer that its going to be a trailer. I’m making it priority that
we start to include characters into the trailers as the trailer its self needs this to really start
getting up and running. Sound effects need to be considered when new footage is taken. I feel
my first 2 drafts have been a foundation block to start building on one all the footage is
completed. Overall I'm happy with the footage we have gotten already and I feel comfortable
with developing the trailer through iMovie.
