The document discusses various technologies used in creating a media product, including Wix, Photoshop, Final Cut, cameras, and lights. Wix was used to create an interactive website to present the work, allowing it to be viewed creatively and engagingly. Photoshop was utilized to edit photos, add text, and layout the final magazine piece professionally. Final Cut provided basic video editing skills. A Nikon camera was used to take high quality pictures, and aperture and ISO were adjusted. A pop up studio and three-point lighting helped control lighting for crisp, appealing images matching the magazine genre.

Technologies Learnt Creating Media Product
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?

2. WIX
• WIX website was the technology I used
throughout the creation of my media
product. Although I was inexperienced in
this website it was where we uploaded all
our work and the steps we took in
producing our work. WIX enabled us to
present our work in a more creative way
and make it more engaging. Even though at
the beginning I was unsure by studying the
website and through experience it became
simple to use and easy. Our work was also
interactive. Not only that, but it allowed us
to view the work of our peers to which also
helped us if we were stuck in any way.
3. Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop was also a technology we
used. I learnt that this was a hugely tool in
the creation stage of my magazine. I used it
to edit my photos, place text and section out
my final piece. It gave my magazine the same
professional style and high standard as
professional magazines. It was easy to use
after I have understood the key concepts. I
have used the magic wand and the magic
eraser in order to crop the background out of
my images and place them on my magazine.
Not only that but I adjusted the lighting for
my images in order to give them a more
appealing look.
4. Final Cut
• Even though we only used final cut for one video, target audience
interview, it was able to give us an insight on basic skills for A2
coursework. Final Cut was simple to use due to its layout and also
being taught how to us it in class. We were able to edit our videos
and upload them, on YouTube to then embed them on our websites.
Therefore, just by using one simple tool we were able to exercise on
other techniques too.
5. Camera and Lights
Camera
• I used a Nikon D3200, digital single lens reflex
camera, it allowed me to take good quality and
professional pictures. I learnt how to change the
aperture in order to get the result that I am
looking for. Therefore, while taking the pictures I
decreased the aperture to allow less light and
producing a darker image. We were also shown
how to regulate the ISO of the camera. I have used
an ISO of 200 which gave my images a crispier
texture to match my genre.
Lights
• With the camera we also used a Pop Up Studio and
Three-Point Lighting. These were both used in order to
adjust the lighting in the studio for our images to be of
the standard we want and to match the genre of our
magazines.
