Descriptive Text hanya memberikan penggambaran mengenia benda, hewan,
tumbuhan atau pun tempat berdasrakan pengetahuan si penulis saja. Untuk lebih

A.PengertianDescriptiveText
Descriptive Text merupakan jenis teks yang banyak digunakan dalam kehidupan
sehari-hari dalam menggambarkan benda, tempat, manusia, hewan dan lain
sebagainya. Descriptive Text adalah sebuah teks bahasa Inggris untuk
mengggmbarkan seperti apa benda atau mahluk hidup yang kita deskripsikan, baik
secara kenampakan, bau, suara, atau tekstur dari benda atau makhluk hidup
tersebut.
B.TujuanKomunikatifDescriptiveText
Tujan Komunikatif dari Descriptive Text adalah untuk menggambarkan dan
mengungkapkan ciri-ciri dari benda, tempat, atau mahluk tertentu secara umum,
tenpa adanya riset atau peneilitan secara mendalam dan menyuluruh.
C. Generic Structure Descriptive Text
Di setiap Descriptive Text terdapat dua bagian yang menjadi ciri dari Descriptive
Text itu sendiri. Kedua bagian tersebut adalah:
1.Identification
Idnetification adalah bagian dari Descriptive Text yang berisi tentang topik atau "apa"
yang akan digambarkan atau dideskripsikan.
2.Description
Description adalah bagian terakhir dari Descriptive Text yang berisi tentang
pembahasan atau penggambaran tentang topik atau "apa" yang ada di Identification
mengenai kenampakan fisik, kualitas, perilaku umum maupun sifat-sifatnya.
D. Ciri Kebahasan Descriptive Text
1. Descriptive Text menggunakan Present Tense, misalnya: go, eat, fly, etc.

2. 2. Descriptive Text menggunakan berbagaimacam Adjectives (kata sifat) yang
bersifat Describing (mengambarkan), Numbering (Menomerkan), dan Classifying
(mengklasifikasikan), misalnya: two strong legs, sharp white fangs, etc.
3. Descriptive Text menggunakan Relating Verbs untuk memberikan informasi
tentang subjek, misalnya: my mum is realy cool, it has very thick fur, etc.
4. Descriptive Text menggunakan Thinking Verbs (kata kerja berfikir, seperti belive,
think, etc.) dan Feeling Verbs (kata kerja perasa, seperti feel)untuk mengungkapkan
pandangan pribadi penulis tentang subjek, misalnya: police believe the suspect is
armed, I think it is a clever animal, etc.
5. Descriptive Text juga menggunakan Adverbs (kata keterangan) untuk
memberikan informasi tambahan mengenai perilaku atau sifat (Adjective) yang
dijelaskan, misalnya: it is extremely high, it runs definitely past, etc.

Losari beach is a beautiful beach and located on the edge city of Makassar. It is located only
about 3 km from the center of Makassar (Karebosi Park). The beach used to be the longest
café in Asia, because many cafes stand in along the beach, but now the cafes are collected
in a special place so it does not spread along the coast. Charm of the beach is mainly seen
in the evening when the sunset stands out. This is a major attraction of people’s coming to
the Losari beach. Every evening hundreds of people come to witness the panorama of red
as the sun will disappear into the ocean, so do not miss the sunset at the Losari beach. If the
sky is sunny, the scenery is absolutely perfect. Because of its location in a bay, the water of

Struktur kebahasaan dari Procedure Text terdiri dari 3 bagian, yaitu:
1. Aim/ Goal
Pada struktur kebahasaan bagian pertama dari Procdeure Text ini berisi informasi mengenai
tujuan dalam pembuatan atau pengoprasian sesuatu.
2. Materials
Pada bagian ke-dua, Materials terdiri dari bahan-bahan yang digunakan dalam membuat
sesuatu. Tapi tidak semua Procedure Text menyertakan bagian materials, adakalanya
sebuah Procedure Text tidak memiliki bagian materials.
Ada tiga jenis Procedural Text yang tidak menggunakan bagian materials, yaitu:

8.  Procedural Text yang menjelaskan bagaimana sesuatu bekerja atau bagaimana cara
melakukan instruksi secara manual. Contohnya : How to use the video game, the
computer, the tape recorder, atau the fax, etc.
 Procedural Text yang menginstruksikan bagaimana melakukan aktivitas-aktivitas
tertentu dengan peraturanya. Contohnya : raod safety rules, atau video game rules,
etc.
 Procedural Text yang berhubungan dengan sifat atau kebiasaan manusia.
Contohnya How to live happily, atau How to secceed.
3. Steps
Pada bagian steps, berisi tentang langkah-langkah atau urutan-urutan yang harus dilakukan
agar tujuan yang diuraikan pada bagian Aim/ Goal bisa tercapai. Langkah-langkah atau
urutan-urutan tersebut haruslah urut dari yang pertama hingga terakhir.
D. Ciri Kebahasaan Procedure Text
Terdapat beberapa ciri kebahasaan dalam Procedure Text, diantaranya yaitu:
1. Menggunakan pola kalimat imperative (Perintah), misalnya, Cut, Don’t mix, dsb.
2. Menggunakan action verbs, misalnya turn, put, don’t, mix, dsb.
3. Menggunakan connectives (kata penghubung) untuk mengurutkan kegiatan,
misalnya then, while, dsb.
4. Menggunakan adverbials (kata keterangan) untuk menyatakan rinci waktu, tempat,
cara yang akurat, misalnya for five minutes, 2 hours, dsb.
5. Menggunakan simple present.

Short Functional Text adalah teks pendek yang berisi perintah, pengarahan, sesuatu
yang harus dilakukan atau tidak boleh dilakukan yang dapat berupa larangan
