This document identifies several risks associated with taking photographs for a magazine and proposes ways to mitigate each risk. The identified risks include equipment failure of the camera or memory cards, unfavorable weather impacting outdoor shoots, unavailability of actors, loss of digital files, poor image quality, and lack of planning. Suggested ways to avoid these risks involve preparing backup equipment, scheduling indoor alternatives or reshoots, securing backup actors, implementing file backup procedures, taking multiple photos, and thorough pre-production planning.

Risk assessment
1. Risk Assessment
Risk How It’s A Risk How To Aviod It
Camera
This is a risk as when using the
camera to take the images of the
actors, location, costume and props,
it could break.
To avoid this, I need to take a back up camera to ensure
that I have another way of taking my images.
SD Card
This is a risk as an SD Card can only
hold a certain amount of memory
(for example 4GB, 8GB or 16GB),
and this could mean that the SD
memory is full, so no more images
can be taken.
To aviod this, I have two options. Option one is to make
sure that the memory is cleared before to ensure that there
is enough space or, option two is to have an extra SD Card
with me.
Location Weather
This is a risk as where the location is
to take my images for the magazine,
the weather might not be as good as
was expected, such as rain or snow.
This means that the images won't be
able to be taken as otherwise, they
won't look as good as they could
have been
To aviod this, I have a number of options. One option is to
take my images beforehand, a second option is to have a
back up location indoor, so that I could use that location if
the weather was bad. A final option I could do to aviod the
risk is to reschedule the date of when the images are going
to be taken.
Actors
This is a risk as if the actors I have
chosen to use are not avaliable, then
I won't be able to use these actors
for my magazine.
To aviod this, I have two options. One option is to
reschedule when I will take the images, but this might take
a long time to do, and a second option is to have a back up
actor to ensure that I will be able to use them, so that my
images can be taken still.
Software
This is a risk as if I am using online
or offline software, and the work that
I have produced gets lost, then I
would lose more time by doing the
work over again.
To aviod this, I need to ensure that I back up my work in
different places, such as online servers such as Google
Drive or use an external hard drive. By doing this, the work
that I have produced will be backed up.
Images
This is a risk as if the images which I
take are not good because of things
(such as extraneous variables) then
this would make my magazine look
at a lower quality.
To avoid this, I must take more that one image, as then this
enables me to choose the best image out of a selection, so
that I wouldn’t have to take photos of my images again.
Organisation
This is a risk as if I have not planned
where I am going to take my images,
as an example, then this would
waste time because I would have to
waste time of organising actors etc.
To avoid this risk, I would need to ensure that I have
planned out where I am going to take my images, as an
example, and who I am going to use. This would be
effective because when the time comes to take images, I
would know when and where to do this.
