1. Risk Assessment.
What is the risk? How is it a risk? How can it be avoided?
Actors This could be a risk
because if my chosen
actor is not available on
the day of my photo
shoot, I will not be able to
take the photos that I
need for my construction.
In order to avoid this risk, I
will arrange my photo
shoot in advance to
ensure that my chosen
actor is free. However, if
my actor has to cancel at
the last minute, I will
make sure that I have a
back up actor who could
take the place of my
original actor if necessary.
Camera The camera that I use
could break on the day of
my photo shoot; this is a
risk because if my camera
breaks, I will not be able
to take the pictures that I
need for the construction
of my magazine.
In order to avoid this risk, I
will make sure that I
handle the camera that I
use with great care, to
avoid it being dropped
and broken. If it does
break, I will make sure
that I have a spare camera
with me so that I can still
take the photos that I
need for the construction
part of my main task.
Location This is a risk because if the
weather at my location is
bad and therefore
unsuitable for my photo
shoot, I will not be able to
take the photos that I
need for my magazine at
that location, which may
result in my photos having
to be taken in a location
that is unsuitable for the
photos that I would like to
take.
In order to avoid this risk, I
will have a back up
location that I can use if
the location that I
originally selected is
unavailable or affected by
an issue such as bad
weather. In addition to
this, I will ensure that I will
schedule my photo shoot
for an early date, so that
there is time to reschedule
it if it is necessary to.
SD Card The SD card that I use
could run out of memory,
meaning that I will not be
able to take any more
photos. Or, as SD cards are
fairly small, it could be
lost, which again would
mean I would not be able
I will make sure that I have
several spare SD cards, so
that I will definitely have
the memory that I need to
store the photos that I
take. Also, I will make sure
that I schedule my photo
shoot for an early date so
2. to take the photos that I
need and any photos that I
may have already taken
will be lost.
that if I do lose any
photos, I will have time to
retake them.
Software This is a risk because the
software that I use may
crash, especially if it is not
software that is installed
onto the computer and is
online software. The result
of this would be that my
work might be lost, which
would mean that time
would have to be spent
redoing this work,
therefore I would have
less time to complete
other tasks.
To avoid this, I will make
sure that all of my work is
backed up elsewhere,
such as backed up to a
hard drive or a separate
document. This way, there
will be a second copy of
my work available,
meaning that my work will
not be permanently lost
and I will not have to
spent a lot of time redoing
it.
Images The images that I take
may be blurry when I look
back on them, or they may
not be the correct pictures
for my magazine, which
would mean that my
magazine would not look
as professional and would
therefore not look like a
real magazine that people
would want to buy.
To avoid this, I will make
sure that I take a lot of
different photos, which
will give me a range of
photos to choose the best
ones from, instead of
having to use ones that
are not of a very high
quality because they are
the only photos that I
have. Also, I will make
sure that I take my photos
as early as possible, so
that I have time to retake
any photos if needed.
