2. Female character: Katy
Main style inspiration: Alexa Chung (model, T.V presenter, DJ)
The lead female character in our film opening will
have a similar quirky, individual style to Alexa
Chung. Alexa is well known in the fashion circuit for
mastering unique and sometimes crazy outfits which
evoke an ‘indie/bohemian’ edge. It is her preppy, laid
back look that we want Katy to evoke.
Alexa’s typical outfit would normally include a nod
to masculine tailoring such
as, brogues, blazer, satchel and collar, but she would
add a feminine touch through a flash of paisley
prints, a short skirt, lace detail or ribbons. We don’t
have the same access to designer brands that Alexa is
lucky enough to have; therefore we will look to the
high street (e.g. Urban Outfitters, Topshop, and
River Island) for similar styles.
The actress that will play Katy, Amelia Walker, is
already known for her creative style so we can use
some of her own clothes to recreate Alexa’s look.
Essentially it is people with this artistic style that we
want our film to appeal to; therefore if we use a style
which they can identify with, then they will more
likely want to watch our film.
3. Male character: Luke
Main style inspiration: Eddie Redmayne (actor, model)
Eddie Redmayne’s style
optimises the classic
British ‘public schoolboy’
image. For the character of
Luke we would like to
roughen up this
representation to make it
more rustic and less smart.
Typical clothes would
include;
blazer, chinos, brogues, kni
tted jumper, and shirt. We
will look towards shops
such as Topman for high
street influences. Luke’s
style is going to be less
creative than Katy’s as he
is the quieter one in the
relationship.
