1. Risk Assessment.
Potential Risk How severe is the risk? What makes it a risk? How can it be avoided?
Actors Low The actor that I chose might not be
available on the day of my photo
shoot. If this is the case, then I will
be lacking photos, which will delay
me from completing my
construction.
I will arrange my photo shoot in
advance, to ensure that my actor
will be available to star in my
photos. However, if there is a last
minute cancellation from my actor,
I will make sure that I have a back
up actor who could fill in for my
original actor.
Equipment Medium The camera that I use could break
or fail to work on the day of my
photo shoot, which is a risk because
without a camera, my work will be
delayed, as I won’t be able to take
the photos that I need. Also, my
camera’s memory could become
full, which would be a risk because I
would not be able to take all of the
photos that I need. In addition to
this, props are a risk because if they
were to break, my actor would not
seem as genuine an artist and it
could affect the outcome of my
magazine and how professional it
looks.
I will handle all equipment with
great care, to avoid it being
dropped and broken. I will make
sure that I have a spare SD card
with me, so that there is a solution
if my camera runs out of memory. If
any of my equipment does break, I
will ensure that I have a back up
option such as a spare camera, or
spare props that could take the
place of the original ones.
Photo shoot location Low On the day of my photo shoot, I will arrange my photo shoot for an
2. there could be bad weather, which
will be an issue if the location for
my photo shoot is outdoors. If this
is the case, the result of this might
be that I have to take my photos in
a last minute location, which may
be unsuitable for the photos that I
would like to take.
early date, so that I have time to
rearrange this photo shoot if I need
to. Also, I will have several other
locations in mind, so that if my
location does not become available,
I have other suitable places to take
my photos.
Quality of images Medium If the images that I take turn out to
be blurry or are unsuitable for my
magazine, I will not have the photos
that I need for my magazine and if I
did include these images, I would
be taking the risk of causing my
magazine to lack the look of being
professional. This could be a risk
because if my magazine does not
look genuine, people would not be
interested in buying it.
I will make sure that I take as many
photos as possible, so that I have a
range to choose from when working
on my construction. Again, I will
make sure to take my photos as
early as possible, so that I have time
to take them again if I need to.
Accidents High Whilst my photo shoot is taking
place, there are risks of tripping
over bags and other hazardous
items, slipping over, or other
accidents that could result in injury.
This would be a risk to the
wellbeing of my actors and myself
and also may affect the photos that
I take for my work.
I will ensure that I view the location
before the date of my photo shoot,
so that I can identify any potential
risks. Also, I will make sure that on
the actual date of the photo shoot,
my actors and me will take great
care and make sure that we act
sensibly, as this will prevent the risk
of injury.
3. Health Risks High My actors might have existing
health problems that could put
them at risk during my photo shoot,
or they may be at risk of something
happening that could harm their
health.
I will make sure that I know of any
health problems my actors may
have, so that I can be prepared and
take necessary action to avoid
putting their health at risk. Also, I
will advise my actors to bring any
allergy medication or other
medication, such as inhalers, so that
if they were to experience a health
problem during my photo shoot,
there would be a way to help them
and we would be prepared if
anything were to happen.
