Judging the Relevance and worth of ideas part 2.pptx
Preliminary film evaluation identifies areas for improvement
1. PRELIMINARY EVALUATION SHEET
Qualityof Summary As a whole,we were organized
and wasable to finishthe taskin
time,however,Ithinkwe couldof
startedoff the preliminarytaska
bitbetteras I foundita bitshaky
( at the verystart of the filmclip).
Also,Ithinkif we keptthe short
filma bitmore simple,itwouldof
lookedbetter,asmygroupand I
wentoverboard.
To helpournextfilmdevelopa
highquality,we will use atripodas
it will balance the cameraout,Iwill
alsouse my friendscamera,ashe
has a highdefinitioncamera,which
will helpmake ourfilmhave a
qualityfinish.Also,because my
groupis goodat meeting
deadlines,we willtryandfollow
thisthroughand ensure thatwe do
not getsidetracked andensure
that we complete ourfilmbythe
deadline.
Qualityof holdingashotsteady There were a few unsteadyshots,
thiswas due to the fact that we
usedthe camera byhand. To help
keepa shotsteady,we shouldof
useda tripodto enhance its
stability.
To ensure thatour nextproduction
doesn’tmake the same mistake,
we will use atripodto enhance its
quality.Tripodscanhelpsupport
the camera to generate asteady
shot.
Qualityof the framingof shots Again, the framingwasquite
unstable aswe didn’tuse a
tripod.However,asa groupwe
thoughtthat itwas importantto
track the shots alongwiththe
movementof the characteras it
helpstocreate a scene towards
the audience.
To helpadjustthe framingof the
shots, we woulduse a tripodagain
to enhance it’squality.
Qualityof shootingmaterial
appropriate tothe task set- i.e.the
contentof your filmpre andpost
editingwasconsistentwiththe
examdirectives
As a groupwe wantedto do
somethingdifferent.We didstick
to the examobjectives,however
insteadof justmakingthe scene
an average scene where the
character justsitsdownand talks
to the othercharacter, we
wantedtomake the filmlook
more interestingbyconstant
jumpshotsto helpmake the film
looka little bitmore interesting,
as it isimportantto openupa
filmwithaninterestingopening.
We alsohad the camera moving
constantlyalongwiththe
characters.
To helpourfilmpossiblymore
accurate to the examdirectives,
maybe we shouldof made our
preliminarytaskalittle bitmore
simple.Because due tothe fact
that whilstfilmingwe hadtomove
arounda lot,itmade it looklike
our task wasn’tconsistent withthe
examdirectives.
Qualityof selectingmise-en-scène
includingcolour,figure,lighting,
objectsandsetting;
I wouldsaythat due to the type
of scene me andmy group
createdthroughthistask,the
mise enscene wasquietaccurate
as it wentwell withthe type of
settingwe putinplace for this
task.For example,atthe start of
As saidbefore,the mise enscene
was accurate to the settingtaking
place duringthe task.The only
thingI wouldchange,wouldbe the
lighting,asIthoughtit wasa bit
too lightforthe scene we was
tryingto portray.Due to the film
2. the film, the charactersbody
language (whenhe bargesthe
boy) helpsportraywhatkindof
approach the filmistaking.
beingbasedonsuspense,Ithink
the lightingshouldhave beenmore
low keyto fitinwiththe scene as
the lightingforme wastoo high
keyand didn’tfitinthe scene as
well asit shouldof done.
Qualityof editingsothatmeaning
isapparentto the viewer
In regardsto editingwe haddone
a lot of cuts as it isthe most
invisible andlooksthe most
realisticeditingtype.
In orderto make the cuts more
precise,we will dothe cutsbitby
bitas some of the cuts where abit
bigbetweenthe scenesof the film.
Quality of usingsoundwithimages
and editingappropriatelyforthe
task set;
In regardsto the soundat the
background,itsetthe scene tobe
verydramaticand intense (which
was ouraim) it alsogave the film
a bit of suspense intowhatcould
happennext.
Due to the soundfittingwellwith
the scenes,myself andmygroup
will continue tofindthe correct
soundthat matchesthe scenes
well withinthe filminorderto
create the right moodfor the
scene.
Qualityof positioningand
movementsof actors
The positioningof the actorswas
a bit awkward.Isay thisbecause I
was one of the actors in thisfilm,
some of the positionsthe
characters hadto be inwas not
all necessarilyrelevant.For
example,the personwhowas
filminghadtotrack the shots of
the movementof the charcter's
at the precise moment,if he
failedtodothat, we wouldhave
had to start all overagain.
In orderfor a betterqualityinthe
positioningof characters,we will
have lessawkwardpositionswhilst
filmingandlessmovementof the
characters,as there was a lotof
movement.Also,due tothe
characters movingarounda lot,
whenitcame to editing,itwas
quiethardto get the correct
position,due tothis,we missed
out the shotthat had the line
saying' so, whattook youso
long?'.
Qualityof groupplanning,meeting
targets,organization
As a group,we plannedtoshoot
the filmandfinishthe editingin
five days,andinorder to meet
the target of our deadline,we
had to allocate peopleinour
groupwithdifferentrolesto
ensure thatour targetwouldbe
met.
Due to the planningand
organizationof who'sdoingwhat
inthe group,we will continue to
setrolesto one anotherwhichwill
make the task easierwhichwill
therefore enable ustomeetthe
targetswe needto meetas well as
the deadline.
Group dynamicsi.e.howdidyour
groupwork together
In regardsto how well the group
worked,Iwouldsaywentwell.
We were able toallocate people
withdifferentroles,whichmeant
that everyone hadafairchance of
participatinginthe film.For
example,Iwasallocatedanacting
role,alongside anotherperson
withinthe group,anotherperson
done the filmingandanother
personhaddone the storyboard,
and as a group we decidedthat
everyone shouldhave the
Due to our group workingwell,we
decidedtoworktogetheronthe
nexttask,however,there were
fourof us,now there isthree.
Whichmeansour group hasto
workharder inorderto meetour
targets.

Otherpointsof evaluation
(E.g.equipmentrelatedetc)
A differentlocationof where the
task wasfilmedwouldhave been
more ideal.Because Idon'tthink
the settingwasthe bestlocation
the filmcouldhave beenshot.
In the nearfuture,we will take
more precautionof where we will
filmandtake our time withit,as
the filmlocationisveryimportant,
as it setsthe scenery.
