Preprocessing Language
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript together make up the visual landscape of the web as we know it. Like the skeleton, skin and muscles come together to
help create a functioning human body, these three languages, when combined in an intentional and planned way, create a website.
As front–end Developers, it is our job to utilize these languages creatively and efficiently in order to create the best possible experience for the end
users of thunder::tech's clients. While these languages are fundamental to the web, writing them is a repetitive and time–consuming process.
To help streamline the process of writing these languages, alternative languages called preprocessing languages have been introduced to help
developers write code more cleanly and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DRY is a principle in development called "Don't Repeat Yourself," which focuses on reducing and eliminating duplicated code. Considering that every
line of code in software must be maintained, duplication of code then is simply a waste.
Similarly, modular programming is a software design technique that encourages separating functions of a program into individual, reusable modules, in
that each module contains everything necessary to perform a single desired function. Phew!
A simple way of visualizing this can be seen by looking at thunder::tech's home page:
A screenshot of thundertechs home page explaining modules
Each separate color and number is its own unique module. These sections can be reused in other places on the site with different content. Building
modular websites removes some of the repetition encountered in development, which promotes DRY development.
In the end, this results in a more flexible, expandable and maintainable website.
So with the understanding that Sass and Pug help to create better code overall, let's take a look at another example of a feature that both Sass and Pug
use called mixins.

A code example of Sass demonstrating a mixin
A mixin in both Sass and Pug allows a developer to write named, reusable blocks of code. These blocks of code can be called by their name to be used
in different areas. Here's a

Evaluation Of The Layout And Content Of My Brochure
Unit 12 – Evaluation for the Brochure
I will evaluate the layout and content of my brochure against the client brief. The page layout for each page is A4. At first I divided the pages into
three section. However, it didn 't look as appealing. The purpose of this is because I wanted to ensure the information and the sizes of the images fills
the page. This is because I wanted to make it more different and appealing. The information is placed in a rectangular or square box. It fits the whole
A4 page. The point size of the texts varies this depends if it is the subheading, heading or body text. Also, the sizes of the shapes are diverse. This
depends on the information and how big the images are. Also, there are images placed in the box, which I will further discuss.
The front cover of the 'Newcastle Tours ' brochure as stated earlier is an A4 page. This page is simpler due to it being the front cover and is 21 cm
x 29.7cm. I decided to add the social networks at the bottom of the page and information at the centre of the page, along with the logo at the top of
the brochure. I don 't have a particular layout as I wanted to make it more individual and more appealing. The colour of the text in all the pages is
white and black. The purpose of this is because the background is mainly dark blue and white so black and white will contrast with the background
colours. These colours were also used to meet the brief.
Moreover, the text styles used are Calibri & Corbel. All these font

Designing A Programming Code, And Oracle Technology As A...
1) Introduction: We create a web page for the SHU books, in this project we are initially approach to PHP language to create a programming code,
and Oracle technology as a database connector. Because of failure in database connection we can 't able to move forward. Then we turn our faces
to HTML5/CSS technologies by this technology we are able to create the body of the project, this we are shifted to MySQL as database connector
but this time also we failed in database connection. In this project I was involved in to create a body of given task, we taking as HTML5/CSS as
front end language. Firstly we use HTML5 technology to create a static web page, after we are giving some graphic designs and some moving objects to
website by using the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Firstly we mainly focused on the client requirements according to the project requirements. For
that we worked as a team spent almost more than one and half month to create a webpage. On this process we tried so many technogies according to
the client requirements. As a progress of designing we divide our work into different frames like static webpage creations and database connections.
My colleagues are also working very hard to reach client satisfaction.
2) Methodologies: Once the choice had been greatly improved the situation method for doing things, we acknowledged we had three ways to look over
i) Adopt a current system ii) Adjust from a current system

What Makes a Good Website
What makes a good website?
Introduction
In my opinion what makes a good web page? I have been on the net for the last, can 't really believe it, coming to ten years now. From the
conception to now, I have been a regular surfer on the web, visiting thousands of pages a month, mostly in search of some thing or another. Most
searches have lead to even more searches but some times I come up tops. Having been used to the all text sites of the beginning, and seeing the first
implementations of more graphic based sites, there was a three–year lapse where I rarely got to surfing and missed a whole evolution in web page.
When I returned in full to surfing, I discovered the face of the internet have started to change. Buttons with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not using clashing colours is important, so, different shades of one colour used makes for a pleasant view, just using different text colours or inlays to
spice it up a bit.
Usability:
After the first three seconds is up, and the site still has my attention, usability of the site is the one that will make me stick around.
Usability comes in many forms, and has many ingredients to it. For a start, the layout is the most important. You can have good graphics but bad
layout, and your site is ruined. Not thinking further than your own computer screen is a big mistake. If a page does not fit my screen when I open it up
it already lost some points, so standardised width is a bonus that all good sites have. Even if you don 't fill up the screen on bigger resolutions,
having it usable on all is n good point (like nokia.com or cnn.com). Where you place everything is going to make it a good site or not.
The simple points of usability is certainly obvious for someone who has spent some time on bad sites, not that I think I 'm pro at this, but off course
they are catering for me as well when they are building the sites. Basic layout is very important, and by that, I mean, the basics in layout. Having
things in places where you think people are going to look is a good start. If you have to look for a link to the main page from the splash page, then
forget about getting much traffic. If the main page does

Wait, hold on, now you guys are leaving too? You're going off to comment? Come on! There's nothing to say yet. I haven't even gotten to the nut graph.

I better get on with it. So here's the story: Only a small number of you are reading all the way through articles on the Web. I've long suspected this,
because so many smart–alecks jump in to the comments to make points that get mentioned later in the piece. But now I've got proof. I asked Josh
Schwartz, a data scientist at the traffic analysis firm Chartbeat, to look at how people scroll through Slate articles. Schwartz also did a similar analysis
for other sites that use Chartbeat and have allowed the firm to include their traffic in its aggregate analyses.
Schwartz's data shows that readers can't stay focused. The more I type, the more of you tune out. And it's not just me. It's not just Slate. It's everywhere
online. When people land on a story, they very rarely make it all the way down the page.

Purpose and Audience for the AT&T Site
In discussing the purpose and audience for the AT&T site, the possibilities are endless. This is due to the fact that the document is online, which means
it is exposed to more people than a regular print document would most likely be exposed too. The fact that the document is a website and available on
the internet makes the purpose more multi–faceted based on the audience groups viewing it.
People the ages of 3 to 99 are on the internet these days. The internet is something that most people use to access information about well anything.
The AT&T sites purpose is to promote their brand, and inform people about it. Before looking at the AT&T site I wasn't aware of all of the
different services they offer other than wireless, after only viewing the page for seconds I quickly became informed otherwise. That is there purpose
brand awareness, making people aware of the brand and promoting all of their services. The site also has a section that informs people about the
company and what their goals and ambitions are as a company. The "about AT&T link also goes into depth about the active role that AT&T plays in
the community. The site also promotes their careers available at AT&T, and even gives current AT&T members access to support for their services.
Although the site has many purposes, I would say that the main purpose is brand awareness. AT&T centers their site around all of the different
products and services they offer, they want to get the word out about everything that

State of the Art in Multilingual Text Retrieval Accessing...
In this paper we surveyed the state of the art in multilingual text retrieval accessing parallel web pages. Multilingual search engines typically consist
of a crawler which traverses the web, retrieves the required web page in the desire languages. It provides front end user interface, which can be used
for selecting language for query submission. The way the query is fired leads into two types of search Cross–language information retrieval and
Multi–language information retrieval. In cross–language retrieval the user query is machine translated into multiple language queries automatically as
per user selection and then fired. In multi–language retrieval the user has to provide queries in multiple languages to fetch the web documents in
different languages. Also in some search engine the web page is machine translated and forwarded to the user. NLP is still in the expansion phase and
has to make advances in it, research is going on all over world. Experiment was done with top rated multilingual search engine to access parallel pages
but could not find it. When billions of parallel web documents are present on the web in different languages why not explore that? A alternative to that
can be searching through parallel pair finder.

CSS clarifies website maintenance and allocates web developers and designers a page to manage, making life easy for web masters to delete, manage
and change an element anywhere from one spot. There is easy control and making alterations when compared with HTML. The disadvantages of CSS
1. CSS provides different directions in each browser. Programmers should consider and test all codes across multiple browsers for compatibility before
broadcasting any website or mobile application live. 2. There are different levels to CSS: CSS; CSS 2; CSS 3. This is confusing for developers and
browsers. These levels use different languages and one is preferred.
3.JavaScript has few rules and easy to follow, interpreted programming language. It is one of the simple and effective languages used to expand

Ceremony Of Loss Essay
When the first ceremony took place, a couple was given a male newchild named Caleb as a replacement child. To begin with, according to The Giver,
the first Caleb, who was 4 years old, "wandered away unnoticed, and had fallen into a river," and had died. As a result, the "Ceremony of Loss"
occurred, which is murmuring the name throughout the whole day, less often, quieter, so that the child is forgotten. To add on, this incident shows that
the community tried to eliminate any dangerous situations because perhaps the death of the first Caleb could cause problems by frightening the rest of
the community and in an attempt to to prevent this, they make sure the child who died, in this case, is forgotten. The text, The Giver, says, "Loss of a

Like usual, they forgot about what happened, even if it's a death. To continue on, they had a special order in which the community marked the first

him and as stated by The Giver, "so that the little Four seemed to fade away gradually from everyone's consciousness." This explains that slowly, they
erased a child from their minds because they didn't want to face the fact that you can't protect everyone from everything and that not everything will
stay the same forever. They marked the new Caleb's replacement by performing another ceremony known as the "Murmur–of–Replacement." This was
directly the opposite of the Ceremony of Loss, and instead of the name slowly disappearing, it gradually became imprinted into everyone's minds once
more. The community murmured it quietly and slowly, and progressively, their voices became louder and

There are many different writing techniques one can utilize when content writing for a webpage. Marketing products online is vastly different than
the writing you would see in a novel. Visitors to a web page typically spend less than 30 seconds on that page before moving to the next one, so you

Writing for your web page audience
First rule, never try and get too fancy. Typically, people will briefly skim through your web page, meaning it's likely that all those creative minute
ideas that popped into your head were not even put to good use. Research actually suggests that only 16% of readers read every page on a web site.
Many people are online because they are in a rush; they want their information now. They don't want to have to sift through line after line of creative
writing to find the information they are looking for. Granted, as a writer there can be a fine balance to this, as you don't want to become a robot
writer. Adding in some creativity here and there can add interesting aspects to a webpage. However, for the most part you want to keep it as simple as
possible for your information–hungry audience.
Secondly, make sure you are writing for a lazy audience. Now I do not want to stereotype a lot of online users, but the easier something can

Analysis Of The Masthead Of ' Total Guitar '
ront Cover
Firstly, Mastheads are found on the covers of all magazines. Conventionally, this masthead will be somewhat related to music amore specifically, the
genre of music that the magazine appeals to. For example, the masthead of 'total guitar' clearly states that the magazine will solely feature guitar based
music. I have named my magazine 'unplugged', this clearly relates to an acoustic style of music as acoustic performances are often described as
unplugged. My masthead does what it is conventionally meant to do, give an immediate insight into that magazine.
Secondly, the positioning of my title is in the middle of the page as unplugged is a reasonably long word. This follows the conventions set by
magazines like billboard or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas 'Kerrang' may use worn down effects front page features, the features on my front page are very simple to represent the simple nature of
acoustic music.
My cover lines are short but punchy containing ultimately, what the audience wants to see. For this I have used artist's names. This is extremely
common in existing music magazines, their most important content concerns existing artists. Also following conventions, my artist's names are much
larger than any additional information underneath. Additionally, my all–important cover story is shown in the largest font on the page other that the
masthead. This immediately grabs the audience's attention and encourages them to find out more.
Another feature of my front page that aims to attract attention is a competition, the sticker with 'Win' inside demands attention without being too
obvious as to what the competition involves, this encourages the audience to read inside. This is conventional in all music magazines as a way of
attracting more potential customers towards the magazine.
Conventionally, although selling the magazine, the front cover doesn't give away too much about the content of the magazine. Cover lines are
typically vague and may use rhetorical questions or quotes to attract attention. This method again encourages people to buy the magazine and read it. I
have done this on my own front page with a rhetorical question. My front page is also jam–packed with information, as you would expect from

The Importance Of Web Application
A single page application (SPA) as name suggest is a web application which will fit in a single web page and acts as a source for rest of the application.
Various end user interactions are possible via HTML, CSS, JavaScript. For most of the part, development happens on the front–end in comparison to
traditional web applications which depend heavily on server–side interactions to reload new web page content. SPA just keeps all the data and the
associated business logic in the front–end i.e. it works with local storage of browser. Server–side interactions are somewhat limited. These interactions
are performed for requesting any information via API's present in server–side of application.

Web applications use HTTP protocol in order to communicate between client and server. It uses different methods such as GET, POST, PUT, DELETE.
These request methods are important concepts to be understood as they allow application to request resources from client. These methods are discussed
briefly below:
a.GET
In GET method application request resources using Request–URI. URI is a combination of URL i.e. Uniform Resource Locator & URN i.e. Uniform

b.POST
In POST method, data is enclosed in message body and server handles request based on Request–URI.
c.PUT
PUT method stores the data in the message body of Request–URI.
d.DELETE
DELETE method deletes a resource from server identified by Request–URI. 2. DOM
The Document Object Model (DOM) is an interface between HTML and XML documents. It consists of nodes and objects arranged in logical

Sample Letter For The Brochure
Unit 12 – Evaluation for the Brochure
The aim of the brochure was to inform the tourists about the best places to visit Newcastle upon Tyne. I included information about Nightlife,
Shopping, Entertainment and Food, which I included with useful information. I am not allowed to use the font style Arial and Times & New Roman.
Also, the other decisions, which were made will be specified whilst I am discussing the pages.
After the initial client meeting and subsequent meetings for designs I began work on the CRC of the document.
I will evaluate the layout and content of my brochure against the client brief and the questionnaire, which I gave the client to answer. The page layout
for each page is A4. At first I divided the pages into three section, this made it more appealing and stand out. This is through including images,
information and designing the page. The purpose of this is because I wanted to ensure the information and the sizes of the images fills the page. This
is because I wanted to make it more different and appealing, which is significant. The information is placed in a rectangular or square box and it fits
the whole A4 page. The purpose of this was to make it stand out, which would encourage the reader 's to carry on reading the brochure. The point size
of the texts varies this depends if it is the subheading, heading or body text and this is to make some information stand out more than others. For
instance, make the heading stand out so the reader 's are aware

The Hunger Relief Organization At The Puyallup Food Bank
Introduction
According to Feeding America, a U.S. Hunger Relief Organization, over 50 million people suffer from hunger in America. Although a complex issue,
nonprofit organizations such as food banks make tremendous contributions each year toward combating hunger. Unfortunately, the majority of food
donated to the Puyallup Food Bank located in Puyallup, Washington is heavily processed. A heavily processed diet can lead to nutritional deficiencies
in fiber, calcium, iron and vitamins. These nutrients are vital to human survival.
Additionally, during non–holiday months, donations to the Puyallup Food Bank decrease considerably. To change this and help the food bank receive
sufficient nutritional food donations year–round, team 6 decided to repurpose Sarah Pike's research project.
Using Ms. Pike's research, we realized the Puyallup Food Bank had issues in communicating its needs effectively with the community. To assist in
correcting this, we felt the design of a simple, visually interesting "call to action" pamphlet would be an appropriate tool.
To accomplish the creation of this pamphlet, we broke the collaboration up into four tasks:
Write a project justification statement
Develop the pamphlet content through delegated research assignments
Design the pamphlet
Test the pamphlet effectiveness by obtaining feedback & finalizing the content
Our overall goal in completing this project is to create an effective pamphlet that will educate the residents of Puyallup,

Dick 's Sporting Goods Vs Sports Authority
Dick's Sporting Goods Vs Sports Authority: A Website Comparison
When accessing a website there are certain peculiarities that may enhance or distract from a pleasant experience. If those peculiarities are too
great, a visitor is likely to leave the web page without completing the intended objective of the site owner. Toward that end, this paper compares the
websites of two similar online retailers Dick's Sporting Goods (Dick's) and Sports Authority (SA). Comparisons were made of each company's
home page and product pages. Product pages were of similar items, by the same manufacturer if possible. The criteria used was modified from
published lists however since most of these lists are several years old the author has eliminated some criteria that is obsolete with advances in
technology and speed and included some criteria that is relative in today's era of mobility, privacy and security concerns.
Pertinent Information
In this category, both companies ranked comparably. Both companies provided pertinent information on every page; and while there were differences,
information was readily available on both sites.
Prominently Display Relevant and Updated Information
A retail website should focus its front page on key products it is promoting, giving details and call to action on inside pages (Stone, 2009). Both
companies had promotional and seasonal items and display on their front page. Links within each graphic send shoppers to a detailed page with product

A Note On B2b Sales Cycle
If you 're not using –– or have given up on –– landing pages, then you 're missing out on a truly integral component of the sometimes complex B2B
sales cycle.
Whether used as part of a lead or sales funnel... integrated into an email, PPC, or direct mail campaign... a well–crafted landing page can really boost
your conversion rates.
Now there are potentially hundreds of specific steps you can take in order to get the most out of them. And there are, of course, various ways to test
each page element.
Am I recommending that you ignore all the testing and tweaking? Of course not.
But if you want to get the most bang for your buck, you can 't afford to ignore the basics.
So without further ado, here are five steps to creating landing pages that convert.
1. Determine the goal.
The lack of a clearly defined goal is probably the single biggest stumbling block for most people. If your pages contain six different ideas, all
competing for attention, then you 're in for a disastrous conversion experience.
For example, if you 've recently published three white papers, it would be a huge mistake to design one landing page for all of them. Studies
consistently show that vague or competing themes are a huge factor in the overall success or failure of a landing page. So instead of cramming
multiple ideas onto one page, be sure to create a separate one for each. If you follow this one step alone, you 'll likely see at least a double digit
improvement in your conversion rate.
2. Keep

The Occupational Health And Safety Standards
As safety practitioners, we need to understand that procedures can be the nemesis of any occupational health and safety (OHS) management system.
Getting it wrong can be the difference between success and failure in safety compliance.
Sometimes procedures are created too rigid and bureaucratic, and other times they're non–specific and ineffectual. The point is no one wants to be
under the burden of unnecessary or unusable procedures. What is needed is the right balance of simple instructions that are easy to read and
comprehend.
Developing your Safety Procedures
Procedures should communicate to employees what they need to know to do their job safely. Here are 5 simple steps to follow:
1.Justification – Ensure there is a genuine reason for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Always consider the following options:
Flowchart – This shows a process as a simple diagram. By using a series of symbols and arrows to indicate flow and action you can outline a process
and make it easy to follow.
Tip: Don't complicate your chart with too many symbols or too much text. It should flow naturally from start to finish and be structured in a logical way.
Photographs or Diagrams – Are commonly used especially where there is difficulty in communicating due to illiteracy or use of multiple languages.
The main goal of visualisation is to make it possible to absorb large amounts of data quickly.
Tip: The saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" refers to the notion that a complex idea can be conveyed with just a single still image.
However just make sure you check that your image or diagram is saying the right words to employees.
Step 4: Writing Style.
Remember when you write you need to consider the end–user, the person who has to read and understand your procedure. To ensure success adopt the
following simple rules of writing;
Use plain everyday English words or local language. The use of uncommon, long or complex words or sentences should be avoided where possible.
Keep to short paragraphs and avoid using too many words. Just be specific enough to communicate clearly.
Write at the appropriate reading level.
Try to keep the procedure itself to a reasonable size

Summary Of Communication In A Tale Of Two Front Pages
Communication is the most important thing in every relationship. Whether it is good communication or bad, it always says something about the
relationship of the people. After reading an article called A Tale of Two Front Pages, by Stanely Fish that was about two magazines that communicated
a story in very different ways, I have concluded that I agree with the assessment of the articles. In addition, I covered the two different ways that an
argument, like the one that Fish brought can be handled when they arise. And finally, what stuck out most to me about Stephen Carter's Integrity.
Stanley Fish's opinion portrayed though A Tale of Two Front Pages, could not be more truthful. When Fish makes the comment of "... if we put all
the accounts offered by the media together, we would get something like the true story" (Fish). Readers believe what is written by journalist, song
and book writers are base off of fact. Most people write based on fact, but twist it and use it in a way to persuade the reader of what they want them to
believe. Often times, this shifts the entire story from one focus point to another, like the two covers talked about in A Tale of Two Front Pages. With
the shift in stories it can frequently create a story/cover that is disinhibiting. This means that the story/cover may be "less restrained and more
spontaneous but also impersonal, abrupt, and often offensive" (Rothwell 10). When analyzing the articles that Fish compared, the one written in the

Why Analytics Is An Unavoidable Segment For An...
These are the days where we invest most of our time to get things done sitting in front of the computer rather that running from one place to the other. It
has brought a revolution in the way we handle things. It saves money, labor and its benefits are umpteen. When the demand and the interest by the
public are steering towards the use of online services, it has become an unavoidable segment for any organization to emphasis more on it to attract its
customers with a better user experience.
It's quite common that every task that we perform, we check whether it is being executed in the expected way. Ultimately, if it's going in a right path
well and good but the actual question arises when it's the other way. This is the point where analytics come into picture. The need for analytics is very
much known to us because it can be one of the most powerful driving factors to tune the performance of an organization's processes, strategies and
uplifting revenue.
[2] Web analytics is the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of web data for purposes of understanding and optimizing web usage.
However, Web analytics is not just a process for measuring web traffic but can be used as a tool for business and market research, and to assess and

Contrast is one of the most relevant principles in design, and it goes considerably further than simply light and dull shading esteems. Every one of
these components of complexity should cooperate in a format or configuration to help accomplish the final look. We The Fans is is an excellent
example of great use of contrast. This is seen in multiple aspects of this website, such as; the front screen (the title of the site is white against the dull
blue background underlined with bright orange, and all other words permanently displayed on the screen are also white). After clicking 'START
THE EXPERIENCE' and loading into the fan seat selection page, it is noticeable that these positions are outlined in either bright blue or orange
colors as to attract attention. Upon clicking a fan seat, a side bar emerges showing the fan who has been selected, and a visual of who they are. The
photos displayed are all bright and in color (which contrasts with the dull blue background). Dependant on the fan, if reading the stories available it
will then open a new page displaying the football fans story as to why they attended the game. This page appears with a white background with black
font unless interrupted with images of said fan.
Repetition is imperative to the stream of website composition. Reiteration additionally gives your guests a feeling of site consistency and recognition.

Sds Lab Report

Name: Shelby Clark
Lab Partners: Kaliah Goodman, Howsikan Kugathasan, and Suntesia Bowen
Date of Laboratory: September 21, 2016
Goal of Laboratory:
The goal of this laboratory was to successfully make a gel and to run an SDS–PAGE and determine molecular weight (MW) of an unknown protein
sample by comparing it to Log10 of the migration of molecular weight of the standards.
Background:
The purpose of SDS–PAGEis to separate proteins according to their size, and no other physical feature. SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) is a detergent
(soap) that can dissolve hydrophobic molecules but also has a negative charge (sulfate) attached to it. Therefore, if a cell is incubated with SDS, the
membranes will be dissolved, all the proteins will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, if we had many copies of two different proteins that were both 298 amino acids long, they would travel together through the gel in a mixed
band. As a result, we would not be able to use SDS–PAGE to separate these two proteins of the same molecular weight from each other. Some possible
errors that occurred during this lab include poorly executing inserting the MW marker solution into the well of the gel. This caused not so clear
bands as shown in figure 1. Incorrect measurements of the migration could also lead to errors in the data. The molecular weight of the protein was
determined by plotting a graph of the Log MW vs migration (cm) and generating a standard curve. The unknown sample molecular weight was
calculated as 79.43 kD. Experimental errors in this lab could be minimized by carefully loading the wells on the

The Internet And Its Impact On The Web
The Internet has become one of, if not the quickest way to access information since most students would prefer to turn to these Internet resources first.
There's an estimate of 120 million Internet users in the United States, surfing the web daily. That is why the web has evolved into a more accessible
and user friendly place where a person is able to search for the information they want. Therefore, it is crucial for a website to maintain its accessibility
and user–friendly characteristic by keeping a well–designed web–page, easy navigations through the site, clear printed words on the page with good
color contrast, etc. Furthermore, in order to receive feedbacks from the users/readers, the website would require a feedback system and user's support
to allow the users to express their opinions of the website which is very valuable in order to improve the web page. A great example of a website which
contains a lot of these characteristics is CollegeAtlas.com. First, the website has tons of information regarding Colleges, which is already helpful
towards students, as the largest group of people who uses the internet. College Atlas contains information for different colleges, as well as options to
help find a suitable college for the student's education needs. As one can see, at first glance, the site has a lot of labeled categories where the user
can clicks on and explore located on the top of the web page (See image below).

Gel Electrophoresis Lab Report
Title – Gel Filtration and SDS Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (P.A.G.E) Gel Filtration, SDS–PAGE Objective – The purpose of this lab was to
separate a mixture of Hemoglobin, BSA, Blue Dextran, and yellow food coloring by size into fractions using gel filtration. Also simple
non–quantitative assay was performed to determine the fractions that contained proteins. Another objective was to analyze the protein content of being
BSA or Hemoglobin and estimate the molecular weight of the proteins collected. Methods – Gel Filtration: A glass column with inner diameter of 1
cm, was packed with Bio–Gel P–100 (BIO–RAD) beads suspended in equilibrium buffer of 20 mM phosphate buffer with a pH of 7.0 – 7.4. The
height of the total content was kept at 5cm. The sample mix with total volume of .1ml contained 2 mg/ml Blue Dextran (blue, 2 MDa), 5 Вµl
yellow food coloring (yellow, ~500 Da), 2 mg/ml Hemoglobin (red), 2 mg/ml of BSA in phosphate buffer. As soon as the sample mix was added to
the column, 0.25 ml (~2 drops) of fractions were collected in the Eppendorf tubes until all the colored bands eluted the column because it was
assumed that the colored band represented protein content. Approximately 1 Вµl of each of the fractions collected were spotted on to nitrocellulose

The Websites Of Toms Shoes And Apple Inc.
Introduction In this era of consumerism, it is important that any and all organization's websites target their customers and are easily maneuverable. A
website is a marketing tool that gives a face to not only the product in which one is selling, but the organization itself. The common theme to a great
website, I have noticed, is simplicity. A simple website is easy to navigate and has clear product descriptions, which is an important facet for keeping
the attention span of their targeted consumers. For this analysis, I will critique the websites of TOMS Shoes and Apple Inc.; both very successful
organizations that have seemed to master this art of simplicity for selling their products. Let's take a look.
Body
TOMs Shoes, one of the most notable shoe retailers in the entire world, has a purpose behind the selling of their phenomenal products; and it is quiet
different than that of its competition. "Shoes for a better tomorrow" is their mission statement, which is on the front page of their website, Toms.com.
Every time they sell a pair of shoes, a pair is given to a child in poverty whom is in need of shoes. I chose to critique this organization's website solely
because of this great mission they serve, and the means by which they go about doing so. This organization was founded in 2006, and has seen constant
improvement ever since then. With much help from their website and great marketing campaigns, the company has recently expanded to selling

Preprocessing Language

  • 1. Preprocessing Language HTML, CSS, and JavaScript together make up the visual landscape of the web as we know it. Like the skeleton, skin and muscles come together to help create a functioning human body, these three languages, when combined in an intentional and planned way, create a website. As front–end Developers, it is our job to utilize these languages creatively and efficiently in order to create the best possible experience for the end users of thunder::tech's clients. While these languages are fundamental to the web, writing them is a repetitive and time–consuming process. To help streamline the process of writing these languages, alternative languages called preprocessing languages have been introduced to help developers write code more cleanly and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DRY is a principle in development called "Don't Repeat Yourself," which focuses on reducing and eliminating duplicated code. Considering that every line of code in software must be maintained, duplication of code then is simply a waste. Similarly, modular programming is a software design technique that encourages separating functions of a program into individual, reusable modules, in that each module contains everything necessary to perform a single desired function. Phew! A simple way of visualizing this can be seen by looking at thunder::tech's home page: A screenshot of thundertechs home page explaining modules Each separate color and number is its own unique module. These sections can be reused in other places on the site with different content. Building modular websites removes some of the repetition encountered in development, which promotes DRY development. In the end, this results in a more flexible, expandable and maintainable website. So with the understanding that Sass and Pug help to create better code overall, let's take a look at another example of a feature that both Sass and Pug use called mixins. Pug to HTML

  • 3. Evaluation Of The Layout And Content Of My Brochure Unit 12 – Evaluation for the Brochure I will evaluate the layout and content of my brochure against the client brief. The page layout for each page is A4. At first I divided the pages into three section. However, it didn 't look as appealing. The purpose of this is because I wanted to ensure the information and the sizes of the images fills the page. This is because I wanted to make it more different and appealing. The information is placed in a rectangular or square box. It fits the whole A4 page. The point size of the texts varies this depends if it is the subheading, heading or body text. Also, the sizes of the shapes are diverse. This depends on the information and how big the images are. Also, there are images placed in the box, which I will further discuss. The front cover of the 'Newcastle Tours ' brochure as stated earlier is an A4 page. This page is simpler due to it being the front cover and is 21 cm x 29.7cm. I decided to add the social networks at the bottom of the page and information at the centre of the page, along with the logo at the top of the brochure. I don 't have a particular layout as I wanted to make it more individual and more appealing. The colour of the text in all the pages is white and black. The purpose of this is because the background is mainly dark blue and white so black and white will contrast with the background colours. These colours were also used to meet the brief. Moreover, the text styles used are Calibri & Corbel. All these font ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Designing A Programming Code, And Oracle Technology As A... 1) Introduction: We create a web page for the SHU books, in this project we are initially approach to PHP language to create a programming code, and Oracle technology as a database connector. Because of failure in database connection we can 't able to move forward. Then we turn our faces to HTML5/CSS technologies by this technology we are able to create the body of the project, this we are shifted to MySQL as database connector but this time also we failed in database connection. In this project I was involved in to create a body of given task, we taking as HTML5/CSS as front end language. Firstly we use HTML5 technology to create a static web page, after we are giving some graphic designs and some moving objects to website by using the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Firstly we mainly focused on the client requirements according to the project requirements. For that we worked as a team spent almost more than one and half month to create a webpage. On this process we tried so many technogies according to the client requirements. As a progress of designing we divide our work into different frames like static webpage creations and database connections. My colleagues are also working very hard to reach client satisfaction. 2) Methodologies: Once the choice had been greatly improved the situation method for doing things, we acknowledged we had three ways to look over i) Adopt a current system ii) Adjust from a current system ... • 5. What Makes a Good Website What makes a good website? Introduction In my opinion what makes a good web page? I have been on the net for the last, can 't really believe it, coming to ten years now. From the conception to now, I have been a regular surfer on the web, visiting thousands of pages a month, mostly in search of some thing or another. Most searches have lead to even more searches but some times I come up tops. Having been used to the all text sites of the beginning, and seeing the first implementations of more graphic based sites, there was a three–year lapse where I rarely got to surfing and missed a whole evolution in web page. When I returned in full to surfing, I discovered the face of the internet have started to change. Buttons with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not using clashing colours is important, so, different shades of one colour used makes for a pleasant view, just using different text colours or inlays to spice it up a bit. Usability: After the first three seconds is up, and the site still has my attention, usability of the site is the one that will make me stick around. Usability comes in many forms, and has many ingredients to it. For a start, the layout is the most important. You can have good graphics but bad layout, and your site is ruined. Not thinking further than your own computer screen is a big mistake. If a page does not fit my screen when I open it up it already lost some points, so standardised width is a bonus that all good sites have. Even if you don 't fill up the screen on bigger resolutions, having it usable on all is n good point (like nokia.com or cnn.com). Where you place everything is going to make it a good site or not. The simple points of usability is certainly obvious for someone who has spent some time on bad sites, not that I think I 'm pro at this, but off course they are catering for me as well when they are building the sites. Basic layout is very important, and by that, I mean, the basics in layout. Having things in places where you think people are going to look is a good start. If you have to look for a link to the main page from the splash page, then forget about getting much traffic. If the main page does

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decisions at Google are made by their teams. Even the company management is in the hands of a triad: the founders) Larry Page and Sergey Brin) hired Eric Schmidt to act as the CEO of the company, and they are reportedly leading the company by consensus. It is common for several small teams to attack each problem and for employees to try to influence each other using rational persuasion and data. Gut feeling has little impact on how decisions are made. In some meetings, people reportedly are not allowed to say "I think..." but instead must say "the data suggest...." I better get on with it. So here's the story: Only a small number of you are reading all the way through articles on the Web. I've long suspected this, because so many smart–alecks jump in to the comments to make points that get mentioned later in the piece. But now I've got proof. I asked Josh Schwartz, a data scientist at the traffic analysis firm Chartbeat, to look at how people scroll through Slate articles. Schwartz also did a similar analysis for other sites that use Chartbeat and have allowed the firm to include their traffic in its aggregate analyses. Schwartz's data shows that readers can't stay focused. The more I type, the more of you tune out. And it's not just me. It's not just Slate. It's everywhere online. • 9. Purpose and Audience for the AT&T Site In discussing the purpose and audience for the AT&T site, the possibilities are endless. This is due to the fact that the document is online, which means it is exposed to more people than a regular print document would most likely be exposed too. The fact that the document is a website and available on the internet makes the purpose more multi–faceted based on the audience groups viewing it. People the ages of 3 to 99 are on the internet these days. The internet is something that most people use to access information about well anything. The AT&T sites purpose is to promote their brand, and inform people about it. That is there purpose brand awareness, making people aware of the brand and promoting all of their services. Multilingual search engines typically consist of a crawler which traverses the web, retrieves the required web page in the desire languages. It provides front end user interface, which can be used for selecting language for query submission. The way the query is fired leads into two types of search Cross–language information retrieval and Multi–language information retrieval. In cross–language retrieval the user query is machine translated into multiple language queries automatically as per user selection and then fired. In multi–language retrieval the user has to provide queries in multiple languages to fetch the web documents in different languages. Whether used as part of a lead or sales funnel... integrated into an email, PPC, or direct mail campaign... a well–crafted landing page can really boost your conversion rates. Now there are potentially hundreds of specific steps you can take in order to get the most out of them. And there are, of course, various ways to test each page element. If your pages contain six different ideas, all competing for attention, then you 're in for a disastrous conversion experience. For example, if you 've recently published three white papers, it would be a huge mistake to design one landing page for all of them. Studies consistently show that vague or competing themes are a huge factor in the overall success or failure of a landing page. So instead of cramming multiple ideas onto one page, be sure to create a separate one for each. If you follow this one step alone, you 'll likely see at least a double digit improvement in your conversion rate. 2. Keep

After reading an article called A Tale of Two Front Pages, by Stanely Fish that was about two magazines that communicated a story in very different ways, I have concluded that I agree with the assessment of the articles. In addition, I covered the two different ways that an argument, like the one that Fish brought can be handled when they arise. And finally, what stuck out most to me about Stephen Carter's Integrity. Stanley Fish's opinion portrayed though A Tale of Two Front Pages, could not be more truthful. When Fish makes the comment of "... if we put all the accounts offered by the media together, we would get something like the true story" (Fish). Readers believe what is written by journalist, song and book writers are base off of fact. Most people write based on fact, but twist it and use it in a way to persuade the reader of what they want them to believe. Often times, this shifts the entire story from one focus point to another, like the two covers talked about in A Tale of Two Front Pages. With the shift in stories it can frequently create a story/cover that is disinhibiting. Sds Lab Report SDS page Name: Shelby Clark Lab Partners: Kaliah Goodman, Howsikan Kugathasan, and Suntesia Bowen Date of Laboratory: September 21, 2016 Goal of Laboratory: The goal of this laboratory was to successfully make a gel and to run an SDS–PAGE and determine molecular weight (MW) of an unknown protein sample by comparing it to Log10 of the migration of molecular weight of the standards. Background: The purpose of SDS–PAGEis to separate proteins according to their size, and no other physical feature. SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) is a detergent (soap) that can dissolve hydrophobic molecules but also has a negative charge (sulfate) attached to it. Therefore, if a cell is incubated with SDS, the membranes will be dissolved, all the proteins will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, if we had many copies of two different proteins that were both 298 amino acids long, they would travel together through the gel in a mixed band. As a result, we would not be able to use SDS–PAGE to separate these two proteins of the same molecular weight from each other. Some possible errors that occurred during this lab include poorly executing inserting the MW marker solution into the well of the gel. This caused not so clear bands as shown in figure 1. Incorrect measurements of the migration could also lead to errors in the data. The molecular weight of the protein was determined by plotting a graph of the Log MW vs migration (cm) and generating a standard curve. The unknown sample molecular weight was calculated as 79.43 kD. Experimental errors in this lab could be minimized by carefully loading the wells on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Gel Electrophoresis Lab Report Title – Gel Filtration and SDS Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (P.A.G.E) Gel Filtration, SDS–PAGE Objective – The purpose of this lab was to separate a mixture of Hemoglobin, BSA, Blue Dextran, and yellow food coloring by size into fractions using gel filtration. Also simple non–quantitative assay was performed to determine the fractions that contained proteins. Another objective was to analyze the protein content of being BSA or Hemoglobin and estimate the molecular weight of the proteins collected. Methods – Gel Filtration: A glass column with inner diameter of 1 cm, was packed with Bio–Gel P–100 (BIO–RAD) beads suspended in equilibrium buffer of 20 mM phosphate buffer with a pH of 7.0 – 7.4. The height of the total content was kept at 5cm. The sample mix with total volume of .1ml contained 2 mg/ml Blue Dextran (blue, 2 MDa), 5 Вµl yellow food coloring (yellow, ~500 Da), 2 mg/ml Hemoglobin (red), 2 mg/ml of BSA in phosphate buffer. As soon as the sample mix was added to the column, 0.25 ml (~2 drops) of fractions were collected in the Eppendorf tubes until all the colored bands eluted the column because it was assumed that the colored band represented protein content. Approximately 1 Вµl of each of the fractions collected were spotted on to nitrocellulose filter using capillary pipet. After the filter was dried, it was incubated in 50% methanol for 5 minutes then it was incubated in Amido Black (0.1% amido black 10B in 30% methanol) for 5 minutes. Next, the filter was ... • 46. The Websites Of Toms Shoes And Apple Inc. Introduction In this era of consumerism, it is important that any and all organization's websites target their customers and are easily maneuverable. A website is a marketing tool that gives a face to not only the product in which one is selling, but the organization itself. The common theme to a great website, I have noticed, is simplicity. A simple website is easy to navigate and has clear product descriptions, which is an important facet for keeping the attention span of their targeted consumers. For this analysis, I will critique the websites of TOMS Shoes and Apple Inc.; both very successful organizations that have seemed to master this art of simplicity for selling their products. Let's take a look. Body TOMs Shoes, one of the most notable shoe retailers in the entire world, has a purpose behind the selling of their phenomenal products; and it is quiet different than that of its competition. "Shoes for a better tomorrow" is their mission statement, which is on the front page of their website, Toms.com. Every time they sell a pair of shoes, a pair is given to a child in poverty whom is in need of shoes. I chose to critique this organization's website solely because of this great mission they serve, and the means by which they go about doing so. This organization was founded in 2006, and has seen constant improvement ever since then. With much help from their website and great marketing campaigns, the company has recently expanded to selling eyewear; with part of its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
