Let us study the following sentences:
He is eighty five. He looks young.

We join the above two sentences using the CONNECTORS OF
CONTRAST as the above two sentences contrast each other.

But; yet; still; however;                 whereas;     while;
nevertheless; on the contrary.

If we read the above two sentences very carefully we observe
that first sentence talks about the actual status of the subject
and second sentence talks about its contrast. Hence, these
CONTRAST CONNECTORS should be added to that sentence
which talks about the contrast.
 03/31/13 anr.tuni@gmail.com
Hence the combined sentence would be:

He is eighty five, still he looks young.
He is eighty five, but he looks young.
He is eighty five, yet he looks young.
He is eighty five, however he looks young.
He is eighty five, whereas he looks young.
He is eighty five, while he looks young.
He is eighty five, nevertheless he looks young.
He is eighty five, on the contrary he looks young.

In our next lesson we come with another set of CONTRASTS.
LET LEARNING CONTINUES.
