cause any problems, but on December 21, JRMC lost power to the disaster recovery center.
Emergency power was instantly put in place to get the disaster recovery center up and running.
Losing power to the disaster recovery center is not good because the disaster recovery center is what

plan are important to a business if they wish to withstand a disaster and reopen with little or no

The Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) provides comprehensive strategy on the actions that employees
should follow doing and after a disaster. The plan should provide exit procedures, the online
communication instructions to make sure that all employees are accounted for and the main
communication and rally point, with the central hub. The hub should carry emergency supplies,
backup information, flashlights and other important items need for the safety of the business,

Abstract
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning are the processes that help organizations to
prepare for the disruptive events that may occur. Disaster recovery events in the past were designed
to provide backup options for centralized data centers. Today the disaster recovery plans are focused
on integrated business continuity.
The plan for Disaster recovery audit, maintenance and continuous improvement should include the
establishment of the process for keeping disaster recovery plans and associated activities updated,
auditing and reviewing the plans to ensure that they remain fit for the purpose and consistent with
the applicable standards and management controls and establishing a process for the continuous
improvement of the disaster recovery program.
The report will focus on the importance of Disaster recovery and Business Continuity Planning in
Today's fast changing and Technology driven business environment & audit of the DR/BCP plans.

datacenters. The effects of recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO)
help organizations make decisions such as where they should locate their secondary site and if it is
at enough distance from the primary site to ensure that if a natural disaster takes out one, it won't
take out the other. Ultimately, organizations need to know how fast their critical operations can be
back online before putting the business at serious risk. The recovery point objective (RPO) is the
time files that must be recovered from backup storage for normal operations to resume if a
computer, system, or network goes down because of a hardware, program, or communications
failure (Manning, 2014). The Recovery Time Objective (RTO) specifies how long an organization
will need to recover. Organizations may have multiple RTOs depending on the data involved. For
example, one RTO may specify how long before the major functions of the enterprise are back on
line while a second, longer, RTO will determine how long until everything is fully recovered. It is an
important consideration in disaster recovery planning

Disasters are unavoidable within businesses and organizations alike. Disasters not only affect the
business and organizational continuity, it will also result in a major modification of the
organization's operational mechanisms (Awasthy, 2009). Businesses now prepare a business
continuity plan and a disaster recovery plan because of these reasons so that they may simplify the
disaster management when next one occurs. It is highly important for every business to have an
effective disaster recovery plan to go to in the event of a disaster (Thejendra, 2008). This disaster
recovery plan has been created and prepared for Bain & Company. This plan will determine the
goals and objectives as well as the programs for properly handling natural disasters and threats that
could harm the company. A framework will be provided for recovery by predicting future threats or
disasters that could happen around or within the business. This DRP will be targeted toward the
security and protection of the business customers and employees. This plan will also help to
mitigate business downtime that will usually happen during a disaster. A few examples of disasters
that could occur are natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. As well as
terrorist threats such as strikes, bomb threats, fires, etc. (Thejendra, 2008).
