Bullying Persuasive Speech
"Fuck, can't a guy gets some sleep!!"
*Sigh*
"Wait...didn't i hear a smashing sound?"
I look around and as I thought I had just smashed my one–hundredth alarm clock. I feel like I should
get a medal for my hard work every day, breaking alarm clocks......not.
"Wait, what time is it anyway.....Shit! I'm late for the game event!"
I start to quickly gather my gaming 'Supplies' which consisted of soda, chips, extra batteries,
headphones, and various other things which I do not want to disclose due to the sake of man
privacy.
I hop into the game and start owning noobs left and right while making other players rage with

They are pretty much what you expect, a person with super strength, speed, flight, teleportation,
yada, yada, yada, you get the gist right? Anyway, not everyone has powers its like 1 in every
hundred thousand or so I'm not to sure, I slept through that class. Turns out I fit that bill. My powers
at first seemed unimpressive. A meager increase in strength, stamina, and durability in short I could
dish a punch and take one. After some experimenting, I learned a few more things. I was far more
powerful than I thought. I had two powers that no one else has in the whole world. My first power,
which I've decided to call 'Gamer' allows me to see my stats like a video game. It shows me my
stats, health, energy, skill, and you know the rest. My second power, which I've decide to call
'Creator' allows me to create skills and magics. Honestly, I think these powers were practically made
for a nerd and lazy person like me because it allows me to be both lazy and overpowered but I've
never had a reason to use them. For example, let's say someone has the ability to fly and I identify
them. Identify, like any other rpg allows the user to see the stats of others. If I want to, I could also
create a ability that allows me to fly and I could make it better, worse, or the same. It all depends on
how much effort and detail I put into it. However, soon I discovered a new ability which I called
'Modify'. It allows me to modify my skills, stats, you know the gist of it already. So, I've already
become the most overpowered MC right. Wrong, I'm way to lazy to actually take the time and effort
to use all these abilities. I love them, and I believe that these abilities were made for me but I don't
want to get involved with the world as much as I already

Persuasive Speech About Bullying
What will happen when you lose someone so special due to "bullying?". Imagine coming home after
school waiting for that call from your friend, but remembering she/ he i gone. Imagine coming home
after school every day crying only because the girls at school are insulting you and approaching
you. "Why you ask?", because of the mere fact that I was associated with her. Imagine walking
through the hallways of school and not be able to smile at one another. Day & night you continue to
receive messages that makes you feel unwanted, and miserable. Bullying is not only a crime, but it
is also a verbal abuse. Bullying is a stage of denial, regret, and hate. We all have our differences,
which makes us unique. Only for some it's the opposite. All around the world, children face one of
the biggest issue in society today, "bullying". Bullying is killing another innocent soul. Bullying is
also destroying someone's reputation. One who bully's, faces criticism at home then at school or
anywhere else. Since we live in a technological society there are other ways where bullying can
occur. However, we will only talk to about the bullying that takes place during school. For some,
bullying is an escape from reality. It's the idea of being superior. But what about the kids that are
being picked on? We don't usually realize the amount of damage we do to others. Statistics show
that about 1.4% of people die from suicide. Visualize your best friend or sister or maybe even your

Have you ever been bullied? I know I was a victim of bullying back when I was in elementary
school, they would pick on me throughout the day, every day, then they would wait for me after
school to beat me up, but I always managed to get away. I told my parents what was happening and
they waited for me after school to confront the bullies, and they did confront them. After that they
left me alone. Did you know that 1 out of 4 teens are bullied? According to Stomp Out Bullying
website, 9 out of 10 LGBT students experienced harassment at school and online, 8% students stay
home on any given day because they're afraid of being bullied, 1 out of 5 kids admits to being a

For adults, problems in a marriage from disloyalty to general estrangement may lead them to
exaggerate their own authority to the point of bullying. Kids who push others around are often
driven by the need for power. They enjoy being able to subdue others. These types of kids are
typically impulsive and hot headed and they thrive when their victims cower in their presence.
Sometimes someone else is bullying the bully, which causes the bully to bully. A person may feel
bullied by their parents, their boss, or an older sibling. Getting bullied by any of these people who
are in an assumed position of authority may tempt some to claim authority for themselves through
bullying. When bullying slips through the net and isn't sorted out we allow another generation of
bullies to be created. According to Nobullying.com, research shows that those who have
experienced bullying are twice as likely to go on to bully others. Cyber bullying is often a by–
product of someone being bullied in his or her offline life. Some people who are perceived as weak,
or perceive themselves that way, use the Internet to try and reinvent themselves as someone more
powerful or intimidating, they may join open chats or forums and threaten other participants. Often
cyber bullying can be an extension of real world bullying too, for example, hacking into a social
media account in order to display negative rumors about another person.

English teachers don't need to be told the enormous value and pleasure of reading whole texts as
class readers. Little compares with that feeling when a class are truly engaged in the reading of a
really good book. Those moments stay with you forever – indeed, they fuel the desire to find
another such book to repeat the experience, again and again. Fortunately, contemporary writers of
fiction for young adults continue to offer us fresh opportunities to enjoy literature with our students.

Stand for Bullying.
Introduction:
I. Attention Getter: "Putting someone down will never help you reach the top". I'm not sure who
said that, but that's true isn't it?
II. Motivation for listening:" you are not enough" "nobody likes you" "don't wear a bikini you are
too big" these are some of the things victims have to listen day after day. I am not too old, but I
remembered that when I was 12 years old I wasn't worried if I was fat or skinny, if she wanted to be
my friend or not. I just wanted to enjoy my childhood playing in the street after school.
III. Establish credibility: did you know that 22% of the students between the ages of 12–18 were
bullied during the school year? (StopBullying.gov) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, I can't picture myself teaching my kid to fight back instead of focusing on dialogue and
restauration.
But the million dollars' question is, how can we stop it?
1. Call to Action
Visualization/Solution: We have to realize how important is information in this topic, we are dealing
with the physical and psychological developed of our children. When we enforce ethics and school,
work and home we show them how to act.
Specific plan of action: If you are a parent be aware of changes in your child behavior. In both sides
of the story, the child tends to change. If he is a bully, he will be angry, aggressive, he will be
disrespectful at home and most likely at school. In the other hand, if he is the bullied, he will be
fearful, will cry constantly, he won't be too social, etc.
If you see any of these sign in your child or someone you know, take action on it depending in how
advance the situation is. The solution can be a talk up to psychological help.
And of course if the situation is too advance that it attempts to the child well being, 911 or there are
always local and national suicide hotlines, that can help people with suicide thoughts.

School Leadership Roles And Responsibilities
School leadership roles and responsibilities have continued be broadened and redefined in today's
society. In addition to the federal and state mandates for student proficiency in general populations
of students and sub groups of populations, school leaders are being held responsible either directly
or indirectly to shape the character and ethical fabric of today's young people. School leaders are
held accountable with high–stakes state assessments, parent and teacher surveys, and state
requirements to provide school buildings with proficient learners, a positive culture, and safe
surroundings. School leaders must appropriate character education programs for teachers, staff, and

Ryan and Bohlin (1999) provide some fundamental groundwork in character education with sample
programs from Tigner, an overview of virtues from Stenson, and an educator's affirmation from
Boston University. Educators and leaders have a vast amount of tools and curricula at their disposal
in their endeavor to educate students with a strong character foundation. Purpose of the Study The
purpose of this study is to determine if school leadership trains and educates teachers, staff, and
students on the use of an effective character education program and fully implements the program
over a period of time, whether or not there is a positive effect on student achievement and behavior.
The researcher will compare academic testing data and office referral decline before and after the
implementation of the character education program. The data will be analyzed to determine if there
was a significant positive effect on student behavior and overall academic achievement due to the
implementation of a character education program. The data will compare growth between testing
periods in which the character education program was implemented and when it was not.
Problem Statement
Effective character education programs in public schools are a necessity to help build positive
behavior and help improve overall student achievement. Principals and school leaders in a public
school system must train and educate their students, teachers, and staff through the use of an

Physical dependence occurs when the body metabolism adapts to the presence of the drugs, when

To be prejudiced is to have a preconceived opinion about others. An individual may be good, noble,
generous, kind, and helpful, but may be rated by the image of his race, religion, and nationality
rather than by an assessment of his individual characteristics. Prejudice is acquired, not inborn,
prejudice is not inherited: it is 'taught'. Prejudice is unlearned as members of various groups come to
know each other as persons instead of stereotypes. WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE
TERM DISCRIMINATION? Discrimination is overt behaviour toward another person that is
different from the individual's usual behaviour toward others. It is differential treatment towards
others. In our society, discrimination may take place in various forms such as in education, voting,
employment, group membership, legal, occupational, political and social. It has been seen as unfair
treatment or injurious distinctions, especially unfair treatment. The dominant group treats members
of the minority group differently because of a variety of fears, fear of intermarriage, fear of job
competition, fear of loss of political power and special privileges, fear of decline of their own social
status should they associate with them. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is one of the most common
crimes. It is present throughout society, usually hidden, but there, nontheless. Violence between

Disciplining Children: Spanking?
Introduction:
You hear more and more every day about a mother or a father accidentally killing their child for a
small misbehavior. This is becoming more and more of a problem. Parenting children is a very
difficult task, one of the most challenging things anyone will ever encounter.
The reason I want to talk to you today about the proper ways of disciplining children is because a lot
of people do not realize the harm in spanking young children or even yelling at them. I will first
discuss what we, as parents, can do to deal with a misbehaved child, and then why resulting in
spanking a child is more harmful mentally to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different variations of spanking of course can lead to more serious problems as adults. Something
not as serious as Schizophrenia would be like depression, anxiety disorders, and paranoia. Castelloe
also states in her article that "some studies suggest a connection between the physical punishment of
children and the behavior involved in some criminal assaults." I have a clip of what has just been
reported this month on the 18th in the state of Massachusetts. As parents we want our children to
grow up respectful, successful, carefree, we want to set them down the right path so they do not
have it as hard as we have.
C. Spanking is a hypocrisy. You may tell your child something like "Do not hit your sister" then turn
around and spank their bottoms because they hit. How does that make any sense? You hit teaches
your children it is "ok" to hit. You probably also heard your mother or father say to you, your just
like your mother or your just like your father. Well why do you think that is? As children we pick up
what they do, if they spank or "hit" us why wouldn't we think that it would be "ok" to hit? Spanking
is a Hypocrisy something I know as parents you do not want to teach your children.

As a mother myself I have spanked my children but after reading what I have read on the harmful

It's just a few minutes before lunch, the class sitting in the portable, finger tapping on the wood with
great anticipation for the call to the savage room of eating. A few of the teacher's pupils are playing
on their phones, while others are having conversation (which was to be kept quiet, according to the
teacher grading test papers, the clicks of his pen out of rhythm with the drumming digits of his
class). Bored, one boy takes the ever infamous "selfie". "Dude," a classmate next to him speaks up,
having a small giggle, "that's really gay."
How could you interpret these words? Perhaps the camera–loving male was offended, or maybe he
laughed along with him. Maybe the teasing schoolmate was his friend, and knew he meant no harm.
Maybe the phrase still hurt the boy deep down, or maybe it didn't. Maybe it offended the redheaded
girl across the room, who was a homosexual herself, despite the short blonde teen next to her
thought the whole ordeal was fine with her, in spite of being the girlfriend of the redhead. Moreover,
(and more probable than just "maybe"), the teacher got upset, too.
Depending on how we perceive an action, we can have radically different feelings on what was
done, particularly when it comes to bullying. There have been countless instances where a person
overhears an individual at the same table insult another person. If they believe it to be in good jest,
they might not take action and confront the person about it. I myself have ignored frivolous amounts
of gossip and harassment because of this very fact. I had changed my perception due to a revelation,
a revelation that came from high school afternoons.
There was a particular student within my high school class. [In high school, there was a particular
student in one of my classes.] This student, whom will be called Jay, loved to remix and combine
songs, play disk jockey, and verbally promote his creations. Unfortunately, this sparked a certain
infamy within his image, as the quality of his work was questionable, and his verbal promotion
made him come off as self–centered, which consequently caused numerous gossiping ladies and
gentlemen to make pokes and light teases towards him. Even I would join in, sarcastically asking
when his next

Lady Macbeth Research Paper
The play 'Macbeth' is basically about a battle between good and evil where the witches represent
evil or supernatural. At the time that Shakespeare wrote the play (between 1603 and 1606), there
was much curiosity in the supernatural and this play would have interested the audience at the time.
The supernatural and evil themes of the play are major part of the play, and are the main reason
Macbeth did certain actions.
The witches are used to represent evil and the supernatural in the play and create mystery in the
play. They also create an element of fear to help excite the curiosity of the audience. They are used
as a tool to set the atmosphere from the very first scene. They also speak vague, and in riddles, to set
the mood in the play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in his hand'. Despite these images all representing threats the witches assure Macbeth that he is safe

Furthermore, Preston Gralla, who wrote The Complete Idiot's Guide to Volunteering for Teens,
reveals that "one of the best ways to meet new people and make friends is to volunteer" and that
volunteering is "a great way to meet people you otherwise might never meet." 3. As a result,
volunteering can help increase socialization among college students, including several people in this
class, who find it difficult to connect with others and find new friends outside of their normal social
groups. 4. Volunteering will also increase students' overall development that was linked to
socialization in college in Lising's article that I previously mentioned. B. College students can
improve their physical and mental health through volunteering. 1. According to Ian Wilhelm in a
journal article in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, volunteering can add years to your live, lower rates
of depression, and help you recover faster from illnesses than people who do not volunteer. a.
Therefore, volunteering can help decrease the high prevalence of depression found amongst college
students. b. Volunteering can help college students recover quicker from the germs that are spread

'To His Coy Mistress' is a passionate plea by a young man to his 'mistress' to go to bed with him. He
uses flattery ('an hundred years should go to praise / thine eyes'), fear ('thy beauty shall no more be
found') and enthusiasm ('Let us roll all our strength, and all / Our sweetness, up into one ball') to
persuade her to give up her virginity. He is only concerned with moving his relationship on to the
sexual stage and, apart from the pleasure this will bring, he has no thought of its consequences.
The woman in 'The Beggar Woman' at first seems anything but reluctant to have sex with the
gentleman she meets, but in fact she has a different agenda. She has a baby strapped to her back and
by exploiting the gentleman's lust ('I should be loth / to come so far and disoblige you both') she is
able to transfer it to him. She then leaves him with the child as a lesson in the consequences of
casual sex.
I trust the child to you with all my heart But, ere you get another, 'ten't amiss To try a year or two

So... bullying... it's a rather rough topic, but I mean, I've gotta start somewhere right? Everyday
hundreds of kids are bullied... then thousands, then they add up to hundred thousands, and those one
hundreds thousands add up to millions and those millions add up to billions... Approximately 3.2
million kids and teens are bullied every year. Each one of those kids go through suffering. And
eventually they might say that they've had enough. They don't know what to do... so they turn to
what they think is the only option to escape it. Suicide...
In a bully's eyes words don't hurt they're "just a joke" but when you really think about it, it's not
meant to be a joke. Verbal bullying. It's meant to hurt you and make you think that you are meant to
be here and eventually you aren't... Approximately 4,400 kids or teens commit suicide each year,
and 14 percent of every high school have thought about doing a suicidal act. Seven percent attempt
it.
While often words can leave bruises on your heart, action can leave them on the outside too.
Physical Bullying. Multiple kids each day go home at the end of the day with new bruises and
marks. Their parents ask why... they say they fell... hundreds of kids and teens purposely don't tell
them what happened because they don't want them to get involved and don't know how to have a
voice.

Cyberbullying Is A Crime Persuasive Speech
Cyberbullying is a Crime–Persuasive Speech "95% of all teens, ages 12 through 17 are now
online..." (Meier). The internet is now a prominent part of the 21st Century society. We are able to
communicate with practically anyone, anywhere, instantly, regardless of the distance between us.
Electronics and the internet are fast becoming a vital part of our daily lives and this can make them
more susceptible to misuse. By using technology, people can communicate anything they want with
very few possible consequences, and this allows them to use the internet, and technology in general,
to hurt others. The use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person,
especially a young person, is called cyberbullying. Unfortunately, our society has let cyberbullying
continue, undeterred, which is a crime against moral laws and it should be a crime against federal
and all state laws. Bullying, in the traditional sense, is illegal in 44 of the United States and of these
only 25 states that even mention bullying in the electronic form. Merely 18 states however, include
cyberbullying as a state crime (Patchin). A short time ago a friend told me a story about a young girl
who had been cyberbullied in high school. This young girl had a falling out with her best friend who
she had known since elementary school. They were so close that her friend knew the answer to the

Persuasive Speech About Bullying
What are bullies? Bullies are people who tease or make people feel down. That they are most likely
jealous of Bullies are people who make other people feel like crap, people may have thoughts in
their head of doing something they should not do. If you don't know what I'm trying to say is that
bullies can lead people to suicidal thoughts. Now of days some people are scared to even go outside
because there sometimes are killers in this town, some people probably don't know this but killers
and murders and anything else that is related to that is also bullies. They kill people. Some murders
kill people because they want something out of them. I've saw a television show on the id channel
and it had were a women killed her husband just for the money he had, because he told her when he
died he would give her all of the money. So she just decides to kill him, and he was as nice as could
be, bullies mostly choose on people that they think they can have power over. Most bullies don't
care about other peoples feelings.
Bullies could tease someone so bad that one day they won't be able to bully that person again
because they won't be there for someone to bully. What I'm trying to say is do not bully somebody
and sometimes you need to watch what you say because sometimes you could be bullying
somebody and not even know it. Also people need to know not to bully because lets say for an
example. Sally and Suzy went to the same school and saw each all day. Suzy could just not stop
bullying Sally. Sally already has a VERY tender heart and with someone bullying her doesn't help at
all, but like I was saying so Suzy couldn't stop bulling Sally, but one day Suzy had said something
so mean that Sally just couldn't handle it anymore she had killed herself. Suzy is going to have to
live the rest of her life knowing that she had bullied someone so bad that they could not handle it
anymore which led her to take her life. Bullies are people who just want attention because they think
when they bully someone and that person listens to the bully he is going to say well if I can get this
kid to me everyone will listen. Bullies bully people to be more popular and get what they want.
Most smart bullies will pick a kid that is younger or

Bullying Is A Matter Of Right
Bullying today is a matter of right an wrong and students need to have the rules enforced in their
homes as well as on school grounds and know how to stand up for others when they see a problem
arising. They need to feel comfortable to have adults at their schools that they can go to and tell
about a situation and be confident that they can help students find a solution. Children in schools
everywhere are in serious risk of bullying and it can have long–lasting effects on the students and
even those around them. Bullying is taking place not only on school grounds faceto–face, but with
all the new technology in the world today, bullying off–campus is becoming an increasingly larger
issue with no concrete solution for help. In order to make a clear decision for any dilemma you have
to be willing to look at all the angles. Bulling is a big issue today, and with all the technology and
social media that are now available, bulling has gone to a whole new level. It is very common for
youths today to be bullied and while at home online, from someone hiding behind the safety of a
screen. People find it easier to express whatever hurtful things they want to say when they aren 't
face to face with their victim. This is a pressing issue and something that needs to be discussed
among parents, school officials, and the law enforcement agency in order to make a change because
students' lives are at stake. School officials are not currently but

catholic church state control over people's lives. Their ideas and insistence on separation between
church and state is an attempt for the third way. We still believe that all mankind, because of Adam's
fall, has inherited a sinful nature, and all people are sinful, and any sin is exceedingly offensive to
God. With sins came the gross social inequality, the wars and despotism, that curse our existence.
For most of our life we supported ourselves by the belief that salvation is a gift of God's grace
through faith in Jesus Christ. Our life is a life that the masses have traditionally regarded as nasty,
brutish, and short full with fears and blindness to see ourselves in unexpected places. We deceive
ourselves when we think that we have to protect God standards. God is bigger than our imperfect
interpretations which are based on fears. God and the people do not have the same perspectives on
how to live life. There are many kinds of fears such as fears. The fear of God must become a basis
for us. Another fear is the fear of shame about our bodies, our instincts, and our behaviors. My
understanding is that the body of Christ like any human body performed different functions for
different behaviors but there was no part who can say to another part I do not need you. When the
body parts was first made, all the body parts wanted to be boss. The Brain, the Feet, the Hands, the
Eye, and so it went with the Heart, the Ear, and the Lungs, then the last opening in the digestive
system spoke up and demanded to be the boss. All the body parts laughed at the idea. We all know
when that opening is blocked and refused to function. Soon, all body parts strive to keep just
working, then every part is satisfied to let that part be the boss.

Spiritual Development and the ethos of a church school Activities should take place within the life
and work of a church school which: provide a safe and secure environment in which all pupils feel
they are valued for the unique contribution each one of them can make; encourage and promote
participation in the life of the school in ways that contribute to the well–being of everyone; ensure
that pupils can express their beliefs, experiences, insights and feelings without a fear of ridicule,
knowing that their ideas matter and are taken seriously; respect the rights of pupils who do not wish
to discuss personal or sensitive issues and enable pupils to share what they have in common and to
celebrate their differences. Spiritual Development across the curriculum In a church school, it is
important there is evidence of spiritual development across the curriculum and that every
curriculum area includes some aims and objectives which make spiritual development more explicit
in the teaching and learning process. The following are some examples: to develop the pupils'
capacity for critical and independent thought to foster the emotional life of individual pupils,

A Persuasive Speech: Bullying At School
Growing up many kids and teenagers don't expect to get bullied. Many are bullied for being
different than others. There all comes a point where we ask why me why is it bullying me. Many
times the bullies do it for attention and making themselves look more, more. Believing in the end of
this is what keeps us going and fighting in our daily lives and trying to prove the ones who bullied
us wrong. For many it becomes too serious and prefer to put an end to the misery and the torment of
the things that happen in their lives. Imagine a place where none of this happens, standing up for
yourself can take you to this place.
I was little walking with my mom to my first day of school excited and nervous at the same time not
ready to leave my mom's side, no one was it's safer right next to her. Finally time came to say
goodbye, and hello 13 years of school. Many things happened to me within those years, but let me
tell you a time where things weren't so happy at school; wait it's never a happy at school...lol. Its all

called me and the kids into to the principal's office all of our parents were in their and it came down
to asking why do you bully and that is not acceptable here in Jaine P. Abbott Elementary. The
solution that the principal came up with was expulsion for the kids that bullied

Persuasive Speech On Cyber Bullying
Have you ever bullied someone before or are you a victim of being bullied? Well, bullying is
described as an immoral and aggressive behaviour where it has an impact on one person to another.
This is caused by people assuming they are dominant, superior in age or position. The bully also
brings that unnatural anger on someone and tries to victimised them so that they can feel good about
themselves. Bullying can occur in a range of places from schools to public places, even at home.
Now these days technology is also a problem because of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is becoming
an infamous territory to battle their victims as it is often used to humiliate them on social media. As
a result, we can say that schools' bullies have become a huge problem these days. The concept of a
bully is that some students who lack in specific qualities in the eyes of the bully is a target for them
in order for them to become popular. To be honest, bullying is a bad sign which results in lowering
victim's emotions and this may lead to mental illnesses such as depression and suicidal attempts.
Actually, bullying to be present in school should not be tolerated in every possible way because it is
violating a person's human rights. This speech talks about the causes and the consequences of
bullying as well the opinions to persuade you to be against bullying in schools and in general.
Bullying has the obscured need of an individual to feel like they have the power as compared to
others in a social setting. When the bully carries an ego at school, the victim of the bullying may
suffer both physical and emotional abuse. Bullying can also extend to sexual and verbal abuse. In
some schools, a majority of the popular students tend to pick on the less popular students for the
sake of fun and attention from other school mates. The main structural causes of bullying are mostly
psychosomatic problems. In most of the times, a bully can also get rid of their own problems by
passing it on to others person. In rare cases of young people, teenagers often release their anger out
because of their violent backgrounds or negative influences that they come across as they grew up in
life. As an outcome, they end up exhibiting these feelings through

The authors of this article, Psychology researchers at Clemson University, include three various
studies in their paper. The first study examines the rates of cyberbullying, the second study
examines the perceptions of cyberbullying, and the third is an extension of the first two studies
combined. This article includes firm evidence that confirms the large role that social media has
grown to play in the world of cyberbullying. For example, in Study Two, it was found that "The
most common social media venues by which people reported becoming victims of cyberbullying
were Twitter and Facebook" (19). The third study in this article was one that did not appear in many
other articles I read. Instead of being conducted in the form of a survey, it was done by a "trained
computer system to detect and interpret cyberbullying" (21). Basically, this computer was given
certain parameters and key words from which it detected whether posts had markings measurable to
those of harassment. One of the results concluded, "61.9% of posts examined correctly were

The Issue Of Childhood Obesity Essay
Obesity is a health issue that we are going to discuss in this case. The target population is children
are most prone to diabetes. The Center for Disease Control asserts that roughly 17% (or 12.5
million) of children and juveniles aged 2–19 years suffer from obesity. Since 1980, obesity
frequency amid boys and teenagers has virtually tripled (CDC, 2012). Nurses in the present day face
a significant challenge an ever growing trend in overweight and obese children, and they have more
responsibility to advocate for help and even support them. Promotion of health is one of the most
significant aspects of nursing and regardless of the circumstance a nurse finds himself in; they have
the authority and power to incite change. The issue of childhood obesity is discussed throughout the
paper including relevant programs and policies that advocate for ameliorating the pandemic. Public
policy nonetheless ought to address the rising concern provoked by childhood obesity in the
contemporary society. Building an advocacy platform centered on two operative childhood obesity
aspects; The Power Up Initiative and Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) may do just
that well. The prospective public–based advocacy platform in this essay will address what
prerequisites to be incorporated in school as well as after–school plans to uphold health and
deterrence of obesity. The program also requires a particular strategy on what and how to educate
local nurses and pediatricians regarding

Persuasive Speech To Stop Bullying
Topic: Bullying in Schools
Specific Purpose: To persuade people to stop the bullying and help the people that are dealing with
it.
Central Idea: Bullying has been around for years, but it's time to make a difference and get rid of it.
Introduction
Attention Getter: How would you feel if someone was trying to put you down for your appearance
or your culture or your for just being you? How would you feel if there was no one to turn to
because you feel like everyone would just make fun of you? How would you like it if you were
stuck in bed just wanting to stay home because everyone is just not nice to you? This is what
someone goes through when it comes to bullying. This also leads to other things that shouldn't be
the only way out. There is always someone out there for you. You just have to ... Show more content

(Transition: So why does bullying need to stop?)
Body
Everyone has either been bullied or have been the bully, but the ones who are the bully don't see
what they're really doing until it's too late.
For the past decade, the bullying rate has been sitting at 28%, but finally dropped to 22% just a few
years ago. (U.S Department of Education, 2015)
It obviously shows that something is being done about the bullying. But do you really think it's ever
going to stop completely? Do you think if we really try to stop the bullying, will it actually make a
difference in society? I hope so because if nothing changes in the next decade, there's no hope of
anything ever being done.
I'm sure there's someone here that has either been bullied or has been the bully. Do you ever look
back at what you did or what was said to you? I sure do. B. As the bully, you don't see what you're
doing to the person because you're dealing with things yourself.
The real reason behind getting bullied is the bully himself is going through his own stuff and takes

Persuasive Speech Against Bullying
Every person has at least been bullied once, whether it's been a rumor or a name you've been called.
Sometimes you have that one feeling (and it's not a pleasant one. Well have you ever tried to defend
yourself and gotten in trouble for it and in the back of your mind you're thinking to yourself " why
am I the one to get blamed? " If they say you should have ignored them how much can you ignore
without getting annoyed. Ask them this, what if they hit you? Would you just stand there, not only
as you take hits but you're pride takes hits too. No, you wouldn't... so why are you going to punish
me for the same thing that you would do. As I recall, I am an American citizen and I should be able
to fight back by my second amendment, for I am defending myself.
Have you considered that bullying goes on in about every school have you ever tried doing
something about it. Well teachers, whatever you're doing it's NOT WORKING open your eyes if
someone's getting bullied and the bully starts the fight is the victim just going to stand there and
take the hits. Studies have shown on this http://www.pacer.org that 35% of kids report bullying or
report being bullied from ages 12–18. This shows that even when someone gets reported bullying is
still going to happen. What can you do to stop it... Well first get the bully in trouble. Second, if bully
starts the fight don't get the bullied in trouble for defending himself. Last POSTERS don't work do a

Michelle Obama Speech Analysis
In the midst of the 2016 election, First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama gave a speech in
New Hampshire regarding the candidates. Donald Trump was facing Hillary Clinton; and in
support, "Michelle Obama presented a Speech On Donald Trump's Alleged Treatment Of Women."
As stated in the title, Trump had recently made rude remarks regarding women, and Michelle
Obama was using this as a learning lesson for anyone looking to vote for Trump. She made it a point
to vote for Hillary by not only stating why not to vote for Trump, but also listing her many
accomplishments throughout her lifetime. Michelle Obama was able to create an effective and
persuasive speech by strongly stating Trump's wrongdoings, passionately listing Clinton's
achievements, and frightening us of the possible future for our children.
Obama's reasoning develops ideas that help connect her claim and evidence using the rhetoric
device of ethos. She quotes, "...we have a candidate... [that] has said things about women that are so
shocking, so demeaning that I simply will not repeat anything here today. And last week I saw this
candidate actually bragging about sexually assaulting women," (Obama, 2016). Obama explains the
terrible acts Trump has done to help her argument in why citizens should vote for Hillary and not
Trump. Obama spoke about the frequent sexual assault Trump has been associated with. Multiple
times, he has spoken inappropriately towards women. By First Lady Obama mentioning this, she is

Pigs Gain Power with Propaganda in George Orwell's Animal...
People desire dominance; to fulfill their craving, manipulators use propagandic methods to
maneuver and manage their audience's mind. Propaganda is a communication method which creates
certain feelings and motivates specific actions (Stults). In George Orwells' Animal Farm, the
animals of the farm plan on living in peaceful equality after overthrowing their human leaders, but
the intelligent, cunning pigs seize the farm's defenseless leadership. Orwell wrote Animal Farm as
an allegorical "fairy story" ("Preface" 6) resembling the Russian Revolt during the 1900's. An
important similarity between Animal Farm and the Russian Revolution is the propaganda techniques
the leaders used to acquire their power. By gaining trust, covering the truth, ... Show more content

The animals already trust Old Major, but the new song builds the trust they have in him, along with
their trust in other animals. The lyrics, "beasts of every land and climes" (13), make them believe
that all animals can, and will eventually, unite and overthrow the humans. In addition, Squealer also
gains the animals' trust through his own speeches. For example, his speech about readjustments in
chapter nine creates belief that life on the farm is better presently than it was before their revolt
(112–113). The reader understands the animals are losing food, but Squealer twists the truth of the
matter to the animals. He says the readjustment was not much, considering they still receive more
food than they did when Jones was present. The animals of course believe Squealer and do not
complain about the loss of food. They trust Squealer when he said the days of independence are far
better than the faded memory of the working days under Jones. Squealer and Napoleon constantly
refer to the other animals on the farm as "comrades", to make the animals believe they are all equal
and care for each other. For instance, when accusing Snowball of disloyalty after the windmill was
destroyed, Squealer said "comrade" ten times (79–82). The use of the word seems equivalent to
nothing, but it affects the animals in an unfathomable way. Squealer wants the animals to believe the
pigs are on their side and would not hurt their alleged friends. He gains the

Trying to live a positive and healthy life is possible but very well challenging. As days go by and

Cyber Bullying Persuasive Speech
The Internet is a new source of communication and socializing for young people today. Almost
every teenager has a social network account, and uses it at least once a day. The problem that
Internet has brought is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has badly affected many people and taken
some lives. Action should be taken in order to address this issue. The bullies should get some type
of punishment no matter what age they are and the victim should be offered help. Cyberbullying is
known as bullying with words, pictures, video, or anything that people do through the Internet. The
Merriam Webster dictionary defines it as "the electronic posting of mean–spirited messages about a

This usually happens in an off–line life. People would think that online life will be different and
more acceptable, but it is not. Leaving someone out and talk harsh about them could result is self–
pity and low self–esteem. This may also cause depression and stress depends on how the victim
handles it.
Another form of cyberbullying is masquerading or faking. It is when a person makes a fake profile
or identity to bully, so that it will be anonymous. The bully also impersonates someone else to bully
the victim using the anonymous profile. This usually happened because the bully is too scared to
show who he or she is, and find it safer to be anonymous. This type of cyberbullying could still
affect the victim like the other form, but also curiosity of who is behind it.
The last form is outing, bullying by sharing someone else's personal information to public. This
form of cyberbullying I consider to be the worst. Because it has to do with personal information, it
could badly affect the victim. Once it is shared online, personal information can never be taken
down. This could result in people treating the victim differently due to information that was shared.
For example, the victim had done something wrong in the past (like hooked up with someone's
boyfriend), but someone found out and shared it online. People that have seen or read the post will
have a different view on the victim, and they will think her as a

Persuasive Speech for the Inclusion of 'The Crucible' in...
The Crucible Persuasive Speech Greetings to you all; thank you all for taking the time to hear my
arguments and for considering my suggestion for the inclusion of The Crucible in the 2013 play
season of the Queensland Theatre Company. My understanding is that the company's intent is to
pursue the culture of fear as the overarching theme for this year's selection of plays. This is an ideal
theme because we are, unfortunately, living in a time of great fear and distrust, with good reason
considering the rates of crime and international violence. Arthur Miller's The Crucible is an ideal
work to complement the theme of this year's play cycle. Although set in the time of the 1692 Salem
witch trials during the colonial period, the play was intentionally written by Miller as an allegorical
work used to represent the dangers of McCarthyism in the United States in the 1950s. Miller himself
said, "It was not only the rise of 'McCarthyism' that moved me, but something which seemed much
more weird and mysterious. It was the fact that a political, objective, knowledgeable campaign 安as
capable of creating not only of terror, but a new subjective reality, a veritable mystique which was
gradually assuming even a holy resonance" (Lavanture 2007). Its message of the dangers of
fanaticism and the horrendous acts human beings can perpetrate upon each other in the name of fear,
particularly when that terror is backed up by the government and system of justice, is a universal
one which still

Summary Of I Just Reformed The School System By Prince Ea
The two pieces I will be covering in this essay are " I Just Sued the School System" and
"Somewhere in America". The first one consists of a man named Prince Ea who created this short
movie/slam poem where he is in court and suing the school system for being unfair, cruel and old
school. Prince backs up his ideas completely with examples in history. The other piece I am
comparing is three girls, Belissa Escobedo, Rhiannon McGavin and Zariya Allen, who share their
unspoken high school eperiences. In "I Just Sued The School System, Prince gives many examples
of how the school system is unfair to children. The first thing he says is a quote from Albert Einstein

The education system uses standard teachings in which this man knows that doesn't work for every
child. He is trying to show people that education is unfair and taking away creativity. Education is
becoming bland and unfair for the children, like he said it is "trying to have a fish climb a tree". He
uses examples to show how far this century and society had advanced and then shows a picture of a
classroom back then and also shows one in modern day to show they look the same to show nothing
has changed. He uses tone of voice to show more powerful points in his speech along with people
gasping to his facts that he shows the crowd. He uses many different kids to come into court as a
"witness" to also help prove his point to the crowd. Prince uses two of the three persuasive appeals
in his work. He uses pathos when he puts emotion in his voice and it makes us feel something from
his words. He also makes us feel things when you can hear the crowd gasp at the things he says. For
example when he is showing the court pictures of things from the past compared to things in
modern day, and the court people gasp when he shows them a classroom in the past and a classroom
in modern day and how it looks exactly the same. He uses the logos appeal when he gives specific
examples of how it logically makes sense for a kid to not learn the way a classroom is taught. And
not only how the school system

world communicates through the media. Internet access can be acquired by anyone. We have grown
dependent on it, thus, making it part of our society. But the question here is, what are the
consequences of our continuous dependency? Will it affect how people view certain things? With
the wide array of information on the internet, will the millions of information help in sustaining the
evolution of our society? During the start of the Internet in 1981, it received numerous criticisms in
terms of its role in the growth and well being of our society. It was praised and at the same time,

Persuasive Speech About Bullying
"Come here right now, Gale!" My step mom yells. Ugh. What does she want this time, I mean
seriously, the worst thing I've done recently I overfed the cats by like 2 treats. I run upstairs and yell,
"what do you want?" "Why are you talking to your mom about being suicidal? There's no way that
you are, I mean there isn't anything to even be depressed about." "Having to listen to you all day is
bad enough. First you try to put my mom in jail for "not liking you". Then you yell at me for being
like her because I love my freaking mom. Like what the even heck? What did I ever do to you? You
need to seriously stop being a jerk to me about this kind of stuff and let me just live my life!" I
storm upstairs and slam my door. I'm so angry with her in my mind and I'm not going to just let her
bully me like that. "You are bull crap! So is your mom and she raised you wrong! I hate you so
much you piece of crap!" "Why are you talking about yourself, no one wants to listen to you Jen," I
yell from upstairs. I miss my mom's house. With her, I never get bullied by my step parent over
there cause my moms over there. I remember when my mom would always be there with me, she
would always let me talk to her about being depressed, and one time she even tried to help me with
it. But nowadays, I feel as though maybe the world would be better without me. I mean, suicide is
one of the options that not many people think about, but I sure do. Ugh, life seriously sucks. I read
The Fault In Our Stars yet again cause I feel like it will make me think the world will actually care
if I die, but yet again, it makes it worse. Oh well, the world will still forget me like the rest of those
who die. Sure we try to make it better by putting a scraped up rock by where we bury their bodies,
but eventually people get over it and just forget. So what's not to think the world would forget me
too. Later that day, I walk to the elementary school near my house. I see the swings I swung on
while thinking about what would happen if I jumped going at full speed. I get on the swings and
start swinging just like before. I get up to full speed and let go when I get to the top. I do a front flip
thinking, hey if someone was

Cyberbullying Is Not A Phrase That Should Be Taken Lightly
The term cyberbullying is not a phrase that should be taken lightly. Cyberbullying can affect all
ages. This term refers to people choosing to judge or harass a person over the internet. People find
cases that do not get reported either because they are not important or no one wants to elaborate on
that topic. Most people think that cyberbullying is something that can vanish, but it stays forever.
One decision that may seem like nothing, later will end up become a regret. Cyber Bullying is seen
all over the world and is causing many terrible situations that may lead to a big epidemic. While
bullying is becoming more and more common in teens, it is questioned by many as to why the rates
are so high and what causes this change in behavior.
Cyberbullying involves all ages and the level of victimization is shocking. Either people have
contributed to bullying or they have never contributed. This chart studies the average percentage
that victimization rates should be at. Unfortunately, in later years the percentages increased causing
it to over pass the average. Some of the different studies were in classrooms, by paper, on an
electronic device and by email. The chart analyzes all different studies starting from 2007 to 2016.
In the first 3 years, the percentages increase and spike up to 28.7. The lack of parent awareness is an
essential aspect to take into consideration. More and more teens are pushing aside what is hurting
them the most. They are either too afraid to speak

Discrimination In The Lgbt Community
"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding
hands?" –Ernest J. Gaines. For the LGBT community, many people frown upon them, treating them
as if they're not human beings. It raises a concern to many – why isn't the government doing
anything about it? As I found in an article wrote by Stephen Peters, "LGBT people are included in
the federal hate crimes law; but fewer than half of states have passing or expanding laws which aim
to protect LGBT individuals from bullying in schools or discrimination in employment, housing and
public accommodations like restaurants and stores," said MAP Executive Director Ineke Mushovic.
"The reality is that LGBT Americans are still not equal under the law, and ... Show more content on

Anyone you're near could be a part of the LGBT community, and you would never know, because
they aren't comfortable with coming out because of the fear of being judged and discriminated. Even
some of my friends tell me that they're scared to come out to their parents because they're afraid that
they'll disown them, but here is the real question–why would your parents disown you for being
who you are? They claim they love you, but if they were to disown you, would that mean they truly
don't? It's sad to think that many that come out to their parents and family end up getting shunned
upon. When I came out to my family, they told me it was a phase, that I would "grow out of it." I
still continue to stand strong, being bisexual. I typically don't openly say that, but I'll admit, I'm not
afraid to. My family continues to love me and treat me the same way they did when I was younger.
Other parents, however, disagree. They claim that it is a sin, that you are a 'devil

Character Deviation In William Shakespeare's The Merchant...
Mrs Harasses me
Shakespeare uses repetition and rhetoric extensively throughout 'The Merchant of Venice' to show
characterization through themes of wealth, race, religion and justice, amongst others through the
characters Shylock, Antonio and Portia.
Considered the greatest dramatist of all time and often known as England's national poet. William
Shakespeare is a popular playwright, poet and actor born in Stratford–upon–Avon England. William
played a big part in Lord Chamberlain's Men company around 1594 and on. Written records are an
understatement of Shakes spears professional life influenced his artistry. In his 20 years as a
playwright, his plays are considered to touch the complete range of both human emotion and
conflict

The characters argume on different levels, as they have had different pasts. The most sense if shown
with is religion. Shylock has been isolated from the rest of the merchants because he is Jewish.
Therefore Skylock's religious beliefs and cultural values are different from Christians. Shakespeare
shows this from this folliwng example; "I will buy with you, sell with you, talk with you, and so
following; but I will not eat with you, drink with you, nor pray with you. (Act 1 Scene 3 line 27–
30). This is the loneliness of life for the characters that is used as a fact and it proves to be equally
insurmountable.
One of the main characters, Portia, has given a special sort of treatment by William Shakespeare that
ties in with the most complex things of the play such as marriage, mercy, justice and wealth. In this
theme of Marriage, Portia is a very complex example of mercy and justice because she makes a very
persuasive speech about mercy and peace. In Elizabethan in England, times Portia would have
actually been seen as on behalf of the Christian idea of mercy.
Evidence to support my statement is when shakespeare quotes "It droppeth as the gentle rain from
heaven upon the place beneath. It is twice blest (scene 1 line 180–201) But although when it comes
to the accord, she is less fair than her actual words that are spoken. She stresses that Shylock has all
justice and she catches him out as she knows the law better than he does. Portia refuses to let
Shylock back out

Persuasive Speech : Bullying In America
Bullying I will take you on a journey through my childhood life of bullies when I started school in
South Carolina not long after I moved from China. As you might know when foreigners come here
to South Carolina they don't know much or at all any English.
During my kindergarten year I will ride the bus to and from school because my mom had to work
and she doesn't have a driver's license at the time. So in the morning when I get on the bus it was
okay because everybody is still sleepy and not fully awake yet to mess with anybody. But,
afterschool everybody is all happy that school is finally over and they are tired of the usual
conversation so they decided to pick on me. The only foreign student on the bus. The bus driver
notices but they wouldn't do anything to stop them. I couldn't really ask anybody for help since I
don't know anybody but most of all its because I don't speak any English at all.
You might be thinking why didn't I just tell my mom. Well I couldn't tell her, it's because she works
long hours in the restaurant and she is stress out from looking after me and working that I didn't
want to put anymore burden on her then she already has. So I just kept it all in. One day the
principle was standing outside of my bus just before the bus left to take us back home and she saw
that I was being bullied and the bus driver wasn't doing anything to stop them. So the next day when
I went to school I was surprised to see that the people that was bullying me wasn't in

Bullying Persuasive Speech

  • 1. Bullying Persuasive Speech "Fuck, can't a guy gets some sleep!!" *Sigh* "Wait...didn't i hear a smashing sound?" I look around and as I thought I had just smashed my one–hundredth alarm clock. I feel like I should get a medal for my hard work every day, breaking alarm clocks......not. "Wait, what time is it anyway.....Shit! I'm late for the game event!" I start to quickly gather my gaming 'Supplies' which consisted of soda, chips, extra batteries, headphones, and various other things which I do not want to disclose due to the sake of man privacy. I hop into the game and start owning noobs left and right while making other players rage with furry. "Hahah, take this and this. Take a fire bolt to the face! They are pretty much what you expect, a person with super strength, speed, flight, teleportation, yada, yada, yada, you get the gist right? Anyway, not everyone has powers its like 1 in every hundred thousand or so I'm not to sure, I slept through that class. Turns out I fit that bill. My powers at first seemed unimpressive. A meager increase in strength, stamina, and durability in short I could dish a punch and take one. After some experimenting, I learned a few more things. I was far more powerful than I thought. I had two powers that no one else has in the whole world. My first power, which I've decided to call 'Gamer' allows me to see my stats like a video game. It shows me my stats, health, energy, skill, and you know the rest. My second power, which I've decide to call 'Creator' allows me to create skills and magics. Honestly, I think these powers were practically made for a nerd and lazy person like me because it allows me to be both lazy and overpowered but I've never had a reason to use them. For example, let's say someone has the ability to fly and I identify them. Identify, like any other rpg allows the user to see the stats of others. If I want to, I could also create a ability that allows me to fly and I could make it better, worse, or the same. It all depends on how much effort and detail I put into it. However, soon I discovered a new ability which I called 'Modify'. It allows me to modify my skills, stats, you know the gist of it already. So, I've already become the most overpowered MC right. Wrong, I'm way to lazy to actually take the time and effort

  • 3. Persuasive Speech About Bullying What will happen when you lose someone so special due to "bullying?". Imagine coming home after school waiting for that call from your friend, but remembering she/ he i gone. Imagine coming home after school every day crying only because the girls at school are insulting you and approaching you. "Why you ask?", because of the mere fact that I was associated with her. Imagine walking through the hallways of school and not be able to smile at one another. Day & night you continue to receive messages that makes you feel unwanted, and miserable. Bullying is not only a crime, but it is also a verbal abuse. Bullying is a stage of denial, regret, and hate. We all have our differences, which makes us unique. Only for some it's the opposite. All around the world, children face one of the biggest issue in society today, "bullying". Bullying is killing another innocent soul. Bullying is also destroying someone's reputation. One who bully's, faces criticism at home then at school or anywhere else. Since we live in a technological society there are other ways where bullying can occur. However, we will only talk to about the bullying that takes place during school. For some, bullying is an escape from reality. It's the idea of being superior. But what about the kids that are being picked on? We don't usually realize the amount of damage we do to others. Statistics show that about 1.4% of people die from suicide. I know I was a victim of bullying back when I was in elementary school, they would pick on me throughout the day, every day, then they would wait for me after school to beat me up, but I always managed to get away. I told my parents what was happening and they waited for me after school to confront the bullies, and they did confront them. After that they left me alone. Did you know that 1 out of 4 teens are bullied? According to Stomp Out Bullying website, 9 out of 10 LGBT students experienced harassment at school and online, 8% students stay home on any given day because they're afraid of being bullied, 1 out of 5 kids admits to being a bully, or doing some "Bullying," 43% fear harassment in the bathroom at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For adults, problems in a marriage from disloyalty to general estrangement may lead them to exaggerate their own authority to the point of bullying. Kids who push others around are often driven by the need for power. They enjoy being able to subdue others. These types of kids are typically impulsive and hot headed and they thrive when their victims cower in their presence. Sometimes someone else is bullying the bully, which causes the bully to bully. A person may feel bullied by their parents, their boss, or an older sibling. Getting bullied by any of these people who are in an assumed position of authority may tempt some to claim authority for themselves through bullying. When bullying slips through the net and isn't sorted out we allow another generation of bullies to be created. According to Nobullying.com, research shows that those who have experienced bullying are twice as likely to go on to bully others. Cyber bullying is often a by– product of someone being bullied in his or her offline life. Some people who are perceived as weak, or perceive themselves that way, use the Internet to try and reinvent themselves as someone more powerful or intimidating, they may join open chats or forums and threaten other participants. When we enforce ethics and school, work and home we show them how to act. Specific plan of action: If you are a parent be aware of changes in your child behavior. In both sides of the story, the child tends to change. If he is a bully, he will be angry, aggressive, he will be disrespectful at home and most likely at school. In the other hand, if he is the bullied, he will be fearful, will cry constantly, he won't be too social, etc. If you see any of these sign in your child or someone you know, take action on it depending in how advance the situation is. The solution can be a talk up to psychological help. Purpose of the Study The purpose of this study is to determine if school leadership trains and educates teachers, staff, and students on the use of an effective character education program and fully implements the program over a period of time, whether or not there is a positive effect on student achievement and behavior. The researcher will compare academic testing data and office referral decline before and after the implementation of the character education program. To be prejudiced is to have a preconceived opinion about others. An individual may be good, noble, generous, kind, and helpful, but may be rated by the image of his race, religion, and nationality rather than by an assessment of his individual characteristics. Prejudice is acquired, not inborn, prejudice is not inherited: it is 'taught'. Prejudice is unlearned as members of various groups come to know each other as persons instead of stereotypes. WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE TERM DISCRIMINATION? Discrimination is overt behaviour toward another person that is different from the individual's usual behaviour toward others. It is differential treatment towards others. In our society, discrimination may take place in various forms such as in education, voting, employment, group membership, legal, occupational, political and social. It has been seen as unfair treatment or injurious distinctions, especially unfair treatment. The dominant group treats members of the minority group differently because of a variety of fears, fear of intermarriage, fear of job competition, fear of loss of political power and special privileges, fear of decline of their own social status should they associate with them. Introduction: You hear more and more every day about a mother or a father accidentally killing their child for a small misbehavior. This is becoming more and more of a problem. Parenting children is a very difficult task, one of the most challenging things anyone will ever encounter. The reason I want to talk to you today about the proper ways of disciplining children is because a lot of people do not realize the harm in spanking young children or even yelling at them. I will first discuss what we, as parents, can do to deal with a misbehaved child, and then why resulting in spanking a child is more harmful mentally to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Different variations of spanking of course can lead to more serious problems as adults. Something not as serious as Schizophrenia would be like depression, anxiety disorders, and paranoia. Castelloe also states in her article that "some studies suggest a connection between the physical punishment of children and the behavior involved in some criminal assaults." I have a clip of what has just been reported this month on the 18th in the state of Massachusetts. As parents we want our children to grow up respectful, successful, carefree, we want to set them down the right path so they do not have it as hard as we have. C. Spanking is a hypocrisy. You may tell your child something like "Do not hit your sister" then turn around and spank their bottoms because they hit. How does that make any sense? You hit teaches your children it is "ok" to hit. You probably also heard your mother or father say to you, your just like your mother or your just like your father. Well why do you think that is? As children we pick up what they do, if they spank or "hit" us why wouldn't we think that it would be "ok" to hit? Spanking is a Hypocrisy something I know as parents you do not want to teach your children. Transition: As a mother myself I have spanked my children but after reading what I have read on the harmful

  • 13. Persuasive Speech About Bullying It's just a few minutes before lunch, the class sitting in the portable, finger tapping on the wood with great anticipation for the call to the savage room of eating. A few of the teacher's pupils are playing on their phones, while others are having conversation (which was to be kept quiet, according to the teacher grading test papers, the clicks of his pen out of rhythm with the drumming digits of his class). Bored, one boy takes the ever infamous "selfie". "Dude," a classmate next to him speaks up, having a small giggle, "that's really gay." How could you interpret these words? Perhaps the camera–loving male was offended, or maybe he laughed along with him. Maybe the teasing schoolmate was his friend, and knew he meant no harm. Maybe the phrase still hurt the boy deep down, or maybe it didn't. Maybe it offended the redheaded girl across the room, who was a homosexual herself, despite the short blonde teen next to her thought the whole ordeal was fine with her, in spite of being the girlfriend of the redhead. Moreover, (and more probable than just "maybe"), the teacher got upset, too. Depending on how we perceive an action, we can have radically different feelings on what was done, particularly when it comes to bullying. There have been countless instances where a person overhears an individual at the same table insult another person. If they believe it to be in good jest, they might not take action and confront the person about it. I myself have ignored frivolous amounts of gossip and harassment because of this very fact. I had changed my perception due to a revelation, a revelation that came from high school afternoons. There was a particular student within my high school class. [In high school, there was a particular student in one of my classes.] This student, whom will be called Jay, loved to remix and combine songs, play disk jockey, and verbally promote his creations. Unfortunately, this sparked a certain infamy within his image, as the quality of his work was questionable, and his verbal promotion made him come off as self–centered, which consequently caused numerous gossiping ladies and gentlemen to make pokes and light teases towards him. The internet is now a prominent part of the 21st Century society. We are able to communicate with practically anyone, anywhere, instantly, regardless of the distance between us. Electronics and the internet are fast becoming a vital part of our daily lives and this can make them more susceptible to misuse. By using technology, people can communicate anything they want with very few possible consequences, and this allows them to use the internet, and technology in general, to hurt others. The use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person, especially a young person, is called cyberbullying. Unfortunately, our society has let cyberbullying continue, undeterred, which is a crime against moral laws and it should be a crime against federal and all state laws. Bullying, in the traditional sense, is illegal in 44 of the United States and of these only 25 states that even mention bullying in the electronic form. • 20. Persuasive Speech About Bullying What are bullies? Bullies are people who tease or make people feel down. That they are most likely jealous of Bullies are people who make other people feel like crap, people may have thoughts in their head of doing something they should not do. If you don't know what I'm trying to say is that bullies can lead people to suicidal thoughts. Now of days some people are scared to even go outside because there sometimes are killers in this town, some people probably don't know this but killers and murders and anything else that is related to that is also bullies. They kill people. Some murders kill people because they want something out of them. I've saw a television show on the id channel and it had were a women killed her husband just for the money he had, because he told her when he died he would give her all of the money. So she just decides to kill him, and he was as nice as could be, bullies mostly choose on people that they think they can have power over. Most bullies don't care about other peoples feelings. Bullies could tease someone so bad that one day they won't be able to bully that person again because they won't be there for someone to bully. What I'm trying to say is do not bully somebody and sometimes you need to watch what you say because sometimes you could be bullying somebody and not even know it. Also people need to know not to bully because lets say for an example. Sally and Suzy went to the same school and saw each all day. Suzy could just not stop bullying Sally. Sally already has a VERY tender heart and with someone bullying her doesn't help at all, but like I was saying so Suzy couldn't stop bulling Sally, but one day Suzy had said something so mean that Sally just couldn't handle it anymore she had killed herself. Suzy is going to have to live the rest of her life knowing that she had bullied someone so bad that they could not handle it anymore which led her to take her life. Bullies are people who just want attention because they think when they bully someone and that person listens to the bully he is going to say well if I can get this kid to me everyone will listen. My understanding is that some scrutiny means the third way. Early leaders rejected the grip of catholic church state control over people's lives. Their ideas and insistence on separation between church and state is an attempt for the third way. We still believe that all mankind, because of Adam's fall, has inherited a sinful nature, and all people are sinful, and any sin is exceedingly offensive to God. With sins came the gross social inequality, the wars and despotism, that curse our existence. For most of our life we supported ourselves by the belief that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Our life is a life that the masses have traditionally regarded as nasty, brutish, and short full with fears and blindness to see ourselves in unexpected places. We deceive ourselves when we think that we have to protect God standards. God is bigger than our imperfect interpretations which are based on fears. God and the people do not have the same perspectives on how to live life. There are many kinds of fears such as fears. The fear of God must become a basis for us. Another fear is the fear of shame about our bodies, our instincts, and our behaviors. My understanding is that the body of Christ like any human body performed different functions for different behaviors but there was no part who can say to another part I do not need you. When the body parts was first made, all the body parts wanted to be boss. The Brain, the Feet, the Hands, the Eye, and so it went with the Heart, the Ear, and the Lungs, then the last opening in the digestive system spoke up and demanded to be the boss. • 25. Persuasive Speech On Cyber Bullying Have you ever bullied someone before or are you a victim of being bullied? Well, bullying is described as an immoral and aggressive behaviour where it has an impact on one person to another. This is caused by people assuming they are dominant, superior in age or position. The bully also brings that unnatural anger on someone and tries to victimised them so that they can feel good about themselves. Bullying can occur in a range of places from schools to public places, even at home. Now these days technology is also a problem because of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is becoming an infamous territory to battle their victims as it is often used to humiliate them on social media. As a result, we can say that schools' bullies have become a huge problem these days. The concept of a bully is that some students who lack in specific qualities in the eyes of the bully is a target for them in order for them to become popular. To be honest, bullying is a bad sign which results in lowering victim's emotions and this may lead to mental illnesses such as depression and suicidal attempts. Actually, bullying to be present in school should not be tolerated in every possible way because it is violating a person's human rights. This speech talks about the causes and the consequences of bullying as well the opinions to persuade you to be against bullying in schools and in general. Bullying has the obscured need of an individual to feel like they have the power as compared to others in a social setting. When the bully carries an ego at school, the victim of the bullying may suffer both physical and emotional abuse. Bullying can also extend to sexual and verbal abuse. In some schools, a majority of the popular students tend to pick on the less popular students for the sake of fun and attention from other school mates. The main structural causes of bullying are mostly psychosomatic problems. In most of the times, a bully can also get rid of their own problems by passing it on to others person. Megan Meir was a young girl who took her own life at just 14 years of age after being cyberbullied. Acquaintances of hers made a fake MySpace profile and what began as a friendly later turned into hurtful conversations. Her story is among many of which we hear about everyday in the news. The first study examines the rates of cyberbullying, the second study examines the perceptions of cyberbullying, and the third is an extension of the first two studies combined. This article includes firm evidence that confirms the large role that social media has grown to play in the world of cyberbullying. For example, in Study Two, it was found that "The most common social media venues by which people reported becoming victims of cyberbullying were Twitter and Facebook" (19). The third study in this article was one that did not appear in many other articles I read. Instead of being conducted in the form of a survey, it was done by a "trained computer system to detect and interpret cyberbullying" (21). Basically, this computer was given certain parameters and key words from which it detected whether posts had markings measurable to those of harassment. • 27. The Issue Of Childhood Obesity Essay Obesity is a health issue that we are going to discuss in this case. The target population is children are most prone to diabetes. The Center for Disease Control asserts that roughly 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and juveniles aged 2–19 years suffer from obesity. Since 1980, obesity frequency amid boys and teenagers has virtually tripled (CDC, 2012). Nurses in the present day face a significant challenge an ever growing trend in overweight and obese children, and they have more responsibility to advocate for help and even support them. Promotion of health is one of the most significant aspects of nursing and regardless of the circumstance a nurse finds himself in; they have the authority and power to incite change. The issue of childhood obesity is discussed throughout the paper including relevant programs and policies that advocate for ameliorating the pandemic. Public policy nonetheless ought to address the rising concern provoked by childhood obesity in the contemporary society. Building an advocacy platform centered on two operative childhood obesity aspects; The Power Up Initiative and Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH) may do just that well. The prospective public–based advocacy platform in this essay will address what prerequisites to be incorporated in school as well as after–school plans to uphold health and deterrence of obesity. Donald Trump was facing Hillary Clinton; and in support, "Michelle Obama presented a Speech On Donald Trump's Alleged Treatment Of Women." As stated in the title, Trump had recently made rude remarks regarding women, and Michelle Obama was using this as a learning lesson for anyone looking to vote for Trump. She made it a point to vote for Hillary by not only stating why not to vote for Trump, but also listing her many accomplishments throughout her lifetime. Michelle Obama was able to create an effective and persuasive speech by strongly stating Trump's wrongdoings, passionately listing Clinton's achievements, and frightening us of the possible future for our children. Obama's reasoning develops ideas that help connect her claim and evidence using the rhetoric device of ethos. She quotes, "...we have a candidate... And last week I saw this candidate actually bragging about sexually assaulting women," (Obama, 2016). People desire dominance; to fulfill their craving, manipulators use propagandic methods to maneuver and manage their audience's mind. Propaganda is a communication method which creates certain feelings and motivates specific actions (Stults). In George Orwells' Animal Farm, the animals of the farm plan on living in peaceful equality after overthrowing their human leaders, but the intelligent, cunning pigs seize the farm's defenseless leadership. Orwell wrote Animal Farm as an allegorical "fairy story" ("Preface" 6) resembling the Russian Revolt during the 1900's. The lyrics, "beasts of every land and climes" (13), make them believe that all animals can, and will eventually, unite and overthrow the humans. In addition, Squealer also gains the animals' trust through his own speeches. For example, his speech about readjustments in chapter nine creates belief that life on the farm is better presently than it was before their revolt (112–113). The reader understands the animals are losing food, but Squealer twists the truth of the matter to the animals. He says the readjustment was not much, considering they still receive more food than they did when Jones was present. The animals of course believe Squealer and do not complain about the loss of food. They trust Squealer when he said the days of independence are far better than the faded memory of the working days under Jones. Squealer and Napoleon constantly refer to the other animals on the farm as "comrades", to make the animals believe they are all equal and care for each other. For instance, when accusing Snowball of disloyalty after the windmill was destroyed, Squealer said "comrade" ten times (79–82). The use of the word seems equivalent to nothing, but it affects the animals in an unfathomable way. Almost every teenager has a social network account, and uses it at least once a day. The problem that Internet has brought is cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has badly affected many people and taken some lives. Action should be taken in order to address this issue. The bullies should get some type of punishment no matter what age they are and the victim should be offered help. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This usually happens in an off–line life. People would think that online life will be different and more acceptable, but it is not. Leaving someone out and talk harsh about them could result is self– pity and low self–esteem. This may also cause depression and stress depends on how the victim handles it. Another form of cyberbullying is masquerading or faking. It is when a person makes a fake profile or identity to bully, so that it will be anonymous. The bully also impersonates someone else to bully the victim using the anonymous profile. This usually happened because the bully is too scared to show who he or she is, and find it safer to be anonymous. This type of cyberbullying could still affect the victim like the other form, but also curiosity of who is behind it. The last form is outing, bullying by sharing someone else's personal information to public. This form of cyberbullying I consider to be the worst. Because it has to do with personal information, it could badly affect the victim. Once it is shared online, personal information can never be taken down. This could result in people treating the victim differently due to information that was shared. For example, the victim had done something wrong in the past (like hooked up with someone's boyfriend), but someone found out and shared it online. The Crucible Persuasive Speech Greetings to you all; thank you all for taking the time to hear my arguments and for considering my suggestion for the inclusion of The Crucible in the 2013 play season of the Queensland Theatre Company. My understanding is that the company's intent is to pursue the culture of fear as the overarching theme for this year's selection of plays. This is an ideal theme because we are, unfortunately, living in a time of great fear and distrust, with good reason considering the rates of crime and international violence. Arthur Miller's The Crucible is an ideal work to complement the theme of this year's play cycle. Although set in the time of the 1692 Salem witch trials during the colonial period, the play was intentionally written by Miller as an allegorical work used to represent the dangers of McCarthyism in the United States in the 1950s. Miller himself said, "It was not only the rise of 'McCarthyism' that moved me, but something which seemed much more weird and mysterious. It was the fact that a political, objective, knowledgeable campaign 安as capable of creating not only of terror, but a new subjective reality, a veritable mystique which was gradually assuming even a holy resonance" (Lavanture 2007). Its message of the dangers of fanaticism and the horrendous acts human beings can perpetrate upon each other in the name of fear, particularly when that terror is backed up by the government and system of justice, is a universal one which still ... He uses examples to show how far this century and society had advanced and then shows a picture of a classroom back then and also shows one in modern day to show they look the same to show nothing has changed. He uses tone of voice to show more powerful points in his speech along with people gasping to his facts that he shows the crowd. He uses many different kids to come into court as a "witness" to also help prove his point to the crowd. Prince uses two of the three persuasive appeals in his work. He uses pathos when he puts emotion in his voice and it makes us feel something from his words. He also makes us feel things when you can hear the crowd gasp at the things he says. For example when he is showing the court pictures of things from the past compared to things in modern day, and the court people gasp when he shows them a classroom in the past and a classroom in modern day and how it looks exactly the same. This term refers to people choosing to judge or harass a person over the internet. People find cases that do not get reported either because they are not important or no one wants to elaborate on that topic. Most people think that cyberbullying is something that can vanish, but it stays forever. One decision that may seem like nothing, later will end up become a regret. Cyber Bullying is seen all over the world and is causing many terrible situations that may lead to a big epidemic. While bullying is becoming more and more common in teens, it is questioned by many as to why the rates are so high and what causes this change in behavior. The characters argume on different levels, as they have had different pasts. The most sense if shown with is religion. Shylock has been isolated from the rest of the merchants because he is Jewish. Shakespeare shows this from this folliwng example; "I will buy with you, sell with you, talk with you, and so following; but I will not eat with you, drink with you, nor pray with you. (Act 1 Scene 3 line 27– 30). This is the loneliness of life for the characters that is used as a fact and it proves to be equally insurmountable. One of the main characters, Portia, has given a special sort of treatment by William Shakespeare that ties in with the most complex things of the play such as marriage, mercy, justice and wealth. In this theme of Marriage, Portia is a very complex example of mercy and justice because she makes a very persuasive speech about mercy and peace. In Elizabethan in England, times Portia would have actually been seen as on behalf of the Christian idea of mercy.
