In the Article titled "Our Gun–Control Laws are not Stopping Gun Violence," the author, Jenny A. Durkan argues that tightening already existing gun
laws is the most efficient way to stop gun violence (7). Durkan talks about how she received a gun at the age of 10 from her father. She was taught how
to safely use clean and store the gun (2–3). Owning a gun at a very young age shaped Durkan's stance on gun violence. Durkan argues that ultimately
