2. STRUCTURE
➤ open in the past with the break of his girlfriend Erica- a clearly
dark and smoke filled bar- with shot reverse shot continuous
throughout.
➤ Cutting between past and present (his two law suits and how
he got there) - although this was not necessarily explained
very clearly until about half way through the film.
➤ Structured to show the progress of his company and the break
down of his relationships with those around him as well as
showing the outcome of the situation.
3. SOUND
➤ Diegetic Sound bridge overlapping the Company Ident and then
proceeded to open in the past with the break of his girlfriend Erica- a
clearly dark and smoke filled bar- with shot reverse shot continuous
throughout. Identification of their status, not through their clothing but
through the intelligent conversation being held where Zuckerberg
continuously breaks fluency to interrupt his girlfriend with dry,
obnoxious and somewhat socially unaware comments.
➤ No extremely noticeable non diegetic sound besides the rowing scene
where a loud, atmospheric music was played. Majority was mostly
diegetic dialogue and background noise. Clearly set in America that
was identifiable by the accents and setting in Harvard University.
➤ Setting of a build up city location suggested by diegetic background
noise such as sirens and cars- taxis clearly visible.
4. GENRE
➤ Personally, the film felt as if the genre could run along the
same lines as that of a comedic drama- with the stress of his
lawsuits and break down of his relationships to the dry,
sarcasm and socially unaware and on the occasion
unacceptable extreme impoliteness making it comedic for the
audience.
5. WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN
THIS?➤ Those interested in the History and the origin of Facebook
would be especially interested in this film as it documents its
progress and development. Those that use Facebook may
also be interested in watching this programme. At the time of
its release half a billion people were currently using Facebook
and this ranged from people aged 13+.
➤ However if this film was to have been released later on when
the actors were more well known and as popular as they are
now (especially Andrew Garfield) the film may have been more
successful and earn more that £5,000,000 in the Box Office.
