1. Analysis of teaser trailer- Skylar.
This close up shot of a image taken from a car crash is
used to enhance the dramatic scenes expressed within
what can be assumed as photographic evidence of a
crime scene- having been part of a teaser the narrative
within the use of these photos could possibly suggest
that a car crash took place in the past. The use of a
black and white filter could possibly represent a flash
back. However, because it was shown only within a
teaser it is not necessarily clear as to where the car
crash took place and how it relates to the rest of the
plot.
2. The use of close up within this shot increases the
sinister action within it. The use of mine en scene
in the form of duct tape being used to cover the
mouth of the actress. This action has
connotations of kidnapping and capture which
could therefore suggest that the teaser trailer is
promoting a dramatic thriller of some sort which
would play on the fact that situations such as this
do happen in everyday life and therefore playing
on the fear of the audience. The bright lighting
brings direct audience focus to this, and the dark
shadows also connote to an element of mystery.
The yellowing tint could suggest that the scene is
taking place within a dark warehouse that would
contain industrial lighting and is a conventional
scene within kidnap based movies for a hostage
to be held
The use of the woodland within this scene, along
with the character being circled by the camera
could connote a feeling of confusion or loss or
could also suggest that she is looking for
something or someone. Along with the
overlapping image within this, reinforces the idea
of a drama/thriller hybrid as within the teaser the
main character is continuously suggested to be
searching for her friend. The blue tint filter add to
and enhances the sinister and eerie feeling within
the scene. The use of the overlap within this
scene could also connote an abstract dream as
the kidnapped character can be seen in the
background wearing the same clothing.
Therefore this could suggest from the teaser
trailer that a psychological element takes place
within the film
