MARKET WRAP
Its tug of war on Dalal Street as the bears cash in at every bounce. The Nifty ended
below 7450 ahead of January F&O expiry. The 50-share index closed up 1.60 points
at 7437.75 and the Sensex was up 6.44 points at 24492.39. About 1363 shares have
advanced, 1196 shares declined, and 189 shares are unchanged.
NTPC, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors and Tata Steel were top gainers while BHEL,
HUL, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports and Hindalco were losers in the Sensex.

Vardhman Textiles Surges on December Quarter
Results
Shares of Vardhman Textiles surged as much as 14 per cent on Wednesday to Rs 819
after the net profit of the textile maker reported a big jump in net profit in the
December quarter.
The net profit of Vardhman Textiles in the December quarter jumped 81 per cent to
Rs 128 crore as compared to the same quarter of the prior year. However, its net
sales growth during the quarter was marginal. The net sales of the company edged
higher to Rs 1,436 crore for the quarter ending December 2015 compared to Rs
1,429 crore in the same quarter previous year. As on 10.20 a.m., shares of Vardhman
Textiles were trading 9.8 per cent higher at Rs 787 compared to the broad market
indicator Sensex that was up 0.11 per cent.

5. Max India Goes Ex-Demerger, Shares Crash 26%
Max India shares crashed 26 per cent on the National Stock Exchange as the three-
way demerger of the company came into effect on Wednesday. The record date for
the demerger is January 28, 2016. Max India has been split into three companies -
Max Financial Services, Max India and Max Ventures and Industries. Current listed
entity - Max India - will be renamed as Max Financial Services. It will house the life
insurance business of the group. The other two entities - Max India (healthcare
business) and Max Ventures and Industries (manufacturing business) - will be listed
next month.
"Shareholders having 100 shares of Max Financial Services of face value Rs 2 in their
demat account as on the record date of January 28, will get 100 shares of
restructured Max India of face value Rs 2 and 20 shares of Max Ventures and
Industries of Rs 10 face value," the company said.
