4. OVERALL VISION
The villain of the story wants revenge on an ordinary family for accidently killing his
wife who ran out in the middle of the road. The flashback at the start shows how the
villain got revenge by killing the family members except for the young boy. 20 years
later the young boy has grown up to be a police officer and changed his identity so
the villain cant find him and also to try and find the murderer of his family, but the
villain is trying to kill the policeman. The plot will follow through of the two of them
trying to discover each others identity and finish each other off. In the end it is a big
battle between the two characters, hero and villain, for the matter of life and death.
The end scene is both of the characters, the villain takes off his mask for the first
time, revealing his identity of his dads long lost brother, ends with both of the
characters pointing a gun at each others head, the sound of a shotgun is played,
the scene then ends with a cliff hanger as you don’t get to see who dies.
5. QUESTIONNAIRES
After we asked 100 people where they think a
thriller film is normally based we came up with
some results.
We found out that the school was the least, so
we decided to only use a small section of the
opening in the school as it will fit into the film.
Also because a home is the most we decided
to film more in the house than at school.
6. LOCATION
We have decided the following locations because they are the most popular ones in
the questionnaires we did previously.
We decided to have it based in a graveyard because it creates mystery.
We decided to also have it based in a school and at home to show an ordinary
setting with extra ordinary situations occur.
7. COSTUME
Villain –
• Half face back over the eyes – to hide some of his identity
• Black leather gloves – shows cleverness by hiding his finger prints
• Black clothing – most popular when asked in questionnaire
Sister –
• School Uniform – shows ordinary person as she goes to school
In the family photo –
Mother –
• Formal clothing – shows ordinary person
Dad –
• Police outfit – shows his job
Sister –
• Formal wear i.e long skirt and blouse – to show they are a smart family
Brother –
• Polo shirt, trousers – show smartly dressed
8. THEMES
The following themes will be included in our film;
• Revenge – villain on the family, boy on villain
• Obsession – villain to the family
• Crime – villain kills sister

9. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience will be a 15. This means that violence is allowed
to be show and some swearing is allowed to be involved but not too
much or it will change into an 18.
Also because it will be a 15 we can challenge the audience and make
the story line confusing to work out in the opening.
10. CONVENTIONS
The conventions that will be used in our thriller will be:
• Identity – mask on villain to hide who he is
• Violence – gun, crime scene
